B7 | Chapter 2 - Training and Passing

  Wolf

Once the rest period comes to a close, I quickly enter the next floor of the Beta Dungeon. The 301st floor. And what I find isn’t all that surprising anymore.

The floor theme itself is far easier to handle than the previous floor theme. But it also isn’t like the basic floor themes either.

It kind of reminds me of a floor theme I was on a while back. One that had a tournament setup with gladiators and the like. Where I had to fight monsters in an arena until I fought a certain mini boss and made it to the next floor.

Except that this floor theme has a rather interesting twist in that the mini boss is an amalgamation of numerous skeletons that when defeated in the arena turn into one massive skeleton. And the floor looks rather horror-like in theme, with a blood red moon partially covered by clouds and a sort of mausoleum feel to the stadium itself.

Not that any of that really matters though. What with how I pulverize the boss with one punch.

Which doesn’t exactly give me much time to focus on expanding my domain, but whatever.

I just keep that up for several floors. Punching the skeletons in each arena with my bare clawed fists while focusing on expanding my Domain.

One floor after another. All the way until I soon reach the boss floor of the floor theme.

At which point I punch the boss as well, cracking the thing’s skull with my fist but not killing it like its mini bosses. Then I shatter its skull on the third punch and continue on to the next floor theme.

Which is a hazardous floor theme. So I should have plenty of time to focus on expanding my domain here while I try to figure out where the hell I’m going.

And that’s exactly what I do. I go through the entirety of the floor theme expanding my Domain while pulverizing any monsters I see with just my brute force physical strength. All without even the smallest hint of difficulty.

Simply because the System went overboard increasing the difficulty of the thirtieth floor theme just because of the progenitor clone in it.

Or rather, the progenitor clone, Beelzebub, was the one that went overboard increasing the difficulty. All just to make me strong enough to fight him.

But now I need to focus on expanding my Domain. Otherwise there’s no chance for me to survive the rest of the Beta Dungeon.

To survive against the other progenitor clones.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

I let out a sigh as I continue moving through floor after floor destroying whatever comes my way with my fists and only occasionally using my energy to kill a monster that’s immune to physical damage. Like ghosts for example.

After I clear three floor themes back to back without any difficulty though, I realize that I’ll be behind in levels when I face the next progenitor clone’s floor theme if I keep this up. So I switch my strategy a little bit to focus on killing monsters.

Still with physical strength though, since all I need are levels while I’m expanding my Domain.

And so, time passes gradually like this as I slaughter monsters day in and day out.

“And The Winter Wolf clears yet another boss floor with nothing but one fist!!!” Mikaela shouts after watching Wolf casually walk through a throne room within a massive frozen pyramid before pulling one hand out of his pocket and grabbing the boss by the throat. Then just crushing the pharaoh’s throat without any difficulty and putting his hand back into his pocket. All without taking the other hand out of his other pocket. “Is there anything left in our universe that can hold a candle to his might at this point?! Because I think not!”

Mikaela feels practically euphoric as he continues commentating on the livestream. Both because the void creature watching over his shoulder is long gone, and because he’s finally back home in his beloved viewing room.

One of the many changes caused by the System betraying The Reaper is that many of the changes The Reaper made were completely reverted. Including but not limited to the restriction of all Viewing Rooms to just a single one.

  That damned Void Stream.

Mikaela hated the Void Stream with a passion. Because he always felt like the Void Stream took away the ability to choose that viewers had.

The power to choose to watch whichever competitor they wanted and to say whatever they wanted.

So now that things are back in their rightful place, Mikaela couldn’t be happier. Although he does feel a little worried about The Winter Wolf, seeing as the progenitor will be facing clones of other progenitors while still at his lower power.

But at this point, Mikaela would be more surprised to see The Winter Wolf fail and die than he would be to see him somehow kill The Reaper. Just because of the significant number of times he’s seen the boy – and he really is still just a kid in terms of age despite his power – shock everyone with his repeated victories over the years.

With his constantly turning everything around and winning in what would normally be a hopeless situation.

So Mikaela honestly finds it hard to not believe in him now. No matter what difficulties he will face.

And on top of that, Mikaela’s paycheck depends on The Winter Wolf.

Of course, Mikaela makes sure to focus on other Competitors while The Winter Wolf is just wandering around punching things while expanding his Domain. Even if he keeps The Winter Wolf’s screen up at all times even when he’s not commentating on it at that point.

Because people started to quickly get bored of just watching Wolf go from floor to floor punching things with his eyes partially closed. Almost like he’s falling asleep while going through the dungeon.

Which has become a meme all over the internet at this point.

Mikaela’s thoughts come to a sudden halt when The Winter Wolf finds a Pandora’s Box inside of a locked room.

“Ohhh, it’s been quite a while since The Winter Wolf found a Pandora’s Box!” Mikaela shouts, his excitement returning with a passion. “But will it be a lucky day for him?! Or an unlucky one?!”

The vampire-type lunar winter beast eagerly watches as The Winter Wolf calmly walks up to the box and places his hand on it.

Only for a little wolf pup to appear above the box and stare at him.

  Silence fills the stadium.

After several seconds, Mikaela finally mutters, “Wolf… just added another immortal wolf pup to the Beta Dungeon…”
