Wolf

  “Yuki, how many times do I have to tell you to stop gnawing on my headphones?” I ask with a frown as I walk through a labyrinth corridor with my hands in my pockets and a small immortal wolf pup lying on my head while gnawing at my headphones. “You’re not going to get anywhere doing that.”

  The little pup just yips before continuing to pointlessly gnaw on my headphones.

  I let out a sigh as I reach another point where I can hear monsters through a wall. And without any hesitation, I lift one foot without taking my hands out of my pocket and kick the wall, knocking the entire thing down to reveal the neighboring corridor of the labyrinth. In which I find several monsters.

  Then I just walk into the corridor and kick one monster after another, turning each of them into pancakes splattered against the walls. All while focusing on expanding my Domain.

  This little wolf pup ended up emerging from a Pandora’s Box that I opened a little while ago on this very floor, and for some reason the thing has been following me ever since. And to top that off, it seems rather clingy with me.

  So Sapphire suggested through telepathy – clearly implying she’s watching the livestream – that we name the pup.

  I was against the idea at first due to my experience with these annoying immortal animals, but after a while with the creature, I realized that at least this one was mostly well behaved. Except for her habit of chewing on my headphones.

  My headphones are damn near indestructible unless they’re some powerful monster or progenitor though, so it’s fine even if the wolf pup gnaws on them all day every day.

  And thanks to understanding that, I decided to just name the wolf pup. Especially since she’s rather cute.

  So I named her Yuki. Which is a name in another language on Earth that means snow.

  I, of course, chose that name because Yuki’s fur is snow white in color. Just like my own.

  Even her eyes are a cold blue.

  Come to think of it, her fur is the same color as my hair. Which makes me wonder if that might be why she likes lying on my head so much.

  Although I don’t have any idea why she likes gnawing on my headphones so much.

  I kind of wish she would stop even if it’s not doing anything. But the wolf pup won’t listen when I try to tell her to stop.

  She surprisingly does listen to anything else I tell her though. And she never actually gets in the way.

  Unlike when I had to deal with those other pests before. Like that immortal chicken for example.

  I grimace at the memory of that chicken.

  Not to mention what Sapphire would always do when chasing after the immortal animals back when she was just a spider. Which was incredibly annoying.

  That aside, I have to wonder what all these immortal animals like about using my head as a resting place…

  I continue marching my way through the corridors of the labyrinth while killing any monster I meet with ease and nothing more than brute force strength. And even when I find mini bosses, I just kill them and keep moving on through the corridors.

  Until I eventually feel good about my level again and move on to the next floor.

  Then I repeat the process over and over again for the next several floors. Just farming monsters for EXP while the wolf pup plays around on my head.

  Although at one point the wolf pup decides to make itself at home in my coat pocket. Which kind of reminds me of what Sapphire used to do. But I just take it as a break from the wolf pup gnawing on my headphones.

  And I continue slaughtering monsters.

  I keep doing this for hours upon hours. For entire weeks.

  All the way until I make it to the next floor theme. One that is another special floor theme.

  And in this special floor theme, I find the entire floor being nothing but a massive arena floor. One with an empty bleachers surrounding it.

  Or at least, empty bleachers for a brief few seconds. Seeing as the bleachers almost immediately begin to fill with people who I’m assuming are viewers from the viewing rooms.

  Hmm. Another one of these?

  My thoughts briefly pause then the pitch black surroundings outside of the stadium suddenly turns into a blue sky. Almost like the stadium was just placed somewhere.

  And judging by the fact that I can sense people outside of the stadium, I’m guessing this is probably somewhere in the universe. Which also means a lot of people are going to be rushing over to find whatever world I’m on.

  Hmm, well whatever. It doesn’t really matter.

  I just continue to focus on expanding my Domain while waiting for whatever is going to happen to happen in here. And while I wait, my countless fans in the stadium roar their applause for me.

  The wolf pup actually sticks her head out of my pocket at the noise, only to hide back inside again when people start ooing and awing at her because of how cute she is.

  And I do agree that she is indeed cute.

  Several minutes pass by while they cheer and I focus on expanding my Domain before monsters all begin to appear in the arena. Monsters that immediately charge straight for me.

  So I finally take my hands out of my pockets and shapeshift just my hands into claws without changing the rest of me before tearing into the monsters with ease. Ripping them all to shreds as the audience roars its applause.

  But I don’t pay any attention to any of that.

  I just keep focusing on expanding my Domain.

  Because none of these monsters pose even the slightest hint of a threat to me. Which is making this whole affair rather boring.

  Honestly, it’s making me glad that I have something else to focus on while doing this.

  So I just continue expanding my Domain amidst the bloodshed rained down by the monsters I’m tearing apart.

  All while briefly wondering what Sapphire is up to right now.
