  (Pumpkin)

  Emerald’s POV

  I stepped into my room in rage flinging my bag across the room as I lay on the bed, not minding to take off my school uniform. I don’t know why I’m so pissed these days; is it because Crystal is back to getting on my nerves or the fact that she is being too clingy to the new boy?

  I just don’t get it, why can’t she just stay in her lane? I don’t wanna cause any trouble because I have promised Mum not to, but she might want me to break her wrist off one day. I huffed, getting up to peel off the cloth when my door suddenly opened

  “Arghh!” I screamed in horror, covering my exposed chest with my shirt, as Daniel, my brother, came in.

  “Hey pumpkin” he yelled out, smiling, while I rolled my eyes

  “Can’t you knock” I snapped, clearing boiling with rage

  “Hey come on, I did, but you didn’t reply, so I decided to see for myself. And it’s not like you are naked, you are damn covered” he winked

  I scoffed, grabbing a towel as I wrap it around my body

  “When did you arrive? I thought you went to see the twins,” I muttered, referring to my other brothers, who live in the neighboring country. They are both married, leaving me and Daniel to remain with my parents. Daniel is actually done with high school; he schools at the oxford university, which is not too far from where we live.

  “Nope…I missed my flight; I went to check on some of my friends. So why did you walk in that way. You look pissed when you came in” He asked, plumping his butt on my bed, as he made to pick up one of my teddies.

  “Did someone get on your nerves? You know you can count on me; I will make sure I break their bones. Is it a guy?” He asked. I rolled my eyes walking towards the bathroom. He followed

  “Kind of”

  “Wait, are you seriously following me into the bathroom?” I questioned

  He shrugged

  “I can bath you” he winked, I picked up a pillow, throwing it at him

  “Get out….”

  He laughed

  “Come on…you shouldn’t do that to your lovely brother, you wanna hit this fine face”

  “Fine face my foot, and the last time I checked, you were beaten when you tried fighting for me”

  “Wooh..woo…that was then, I wasn’t strong as at then. I mean..come on..we were still kids then”

  “Whatever…I wanna have a shower…see you at dinner” I slammed, banging the door to his face

  I exhaled softly as the cool water kissed my skin. I felt calm after the shower, stepping out of the shower as I dry my body with the towel. I wrapped it around my body and walked out into the room, meeting Daniel still on my bed

  “Don’t tell me you were here all the while I was in the shower.”

  “Nope, I got here just now. Someone is out there looking for you; a classmate of yours I think. Damn, I can’t believe you spent an hour in the shower, you are such a bad ass….” I didn’t wait for him to complete the statement before launching at him.

  Daniel is fond of making fun of me, but that doesn’t stop his love for me, and he doesn’t mind dealing with anyone who crosses my path wrongly. He is protective of me as a big brother, and I’m grateful for that.

  He laughed running out. I heave a sigh. Who the hell is looking for me? Is it Rose? he would have mentioned her name if she was the one; perhaps someone else, but who? I thought

  Shrugging the thought off, I quickly put on a loose shirt with a baggy trouser, looking more like a tom boy in it. I packed my hair in a messy bun, picking up my phone as I head out of the room. I ran down the stairs, having different thoughts of who could come looking for me even though I just left school about an hour ago.

  I paused on my track to get to the last step as I caught sight of my visitor. He looked towards my direction and smiled. Gosh, it was such a captivating smile that I almost found myself smiling back, but getting to my normal senses, I shook my head and frowned

  He didn’t stop smiling, though; he brought the glass of juice he held towards his mouth, taking a sip from it, before dropping it on the table.

  I scoffed, attempting to climb back up the stairs, but stopped on hearing my name

  “Emerald” his soft voice peered into my ears. Daniel also came out of the kitchen, holding a tray of cookies. Wait a second. Is that for Dave or what? I mean, Daniel doesn’t entertain any guy that comes looking for me; he is always acting bossy and all that. But why is this guy’s own different? I thought

  “Oh, Pumpkin..wanna have some cookies?” Daniel smiled, sending that annoying wink

  “P...umpkin” I heard Dave mumbled, like he was trying to put the words together. He later released a bright smile, wriggling his brows

  “F**k you, Daniel,” I cursed inwardly, walking towards them.

  D’Arcy’s POV

  I had it in mind to see Emerald after school hours because I couldn’t do that during school hours. Crystal made life a living hell for me today; I don’t know why she is being so clingy, damn; that girl deserves to be drained of her blood to the last bit.

  Dressed in blue pants, a black T-shirt, and a blue jacket, I combed my hair in a perfect style, heading towards her house,e which is just a few steps from mine.

  I rang the doorbell twice and waited for a response. The door opened, revealing a dark brown-haired lad. He wore a frown on seeing me, but it didn’t last for long.

  “Hi…I’m here to see Emerald” I noted. He didn’t say a word; he kept staring at me, like someone who was trying to remember something

  “Oh..I’m actually her classmate” I smiled

  “You look familiar. Have we met before?” he asked. I shrugged and then glanced at him again. Oh I think I recognize him now

  “Woooh…the guy from the beach?” I asked. His face lighten up as he smiles

  “Yeah..yes…and you were the one who came to my aid that day…oh…thanks so much, I really didn’t get the chance to thank you properly that day. Come in” He stated opening the door wide as he ushered me in

  “Thanks….I muttered, looking around for a while before facing him

  “So you wanna see Emerald…wait here I will go call her down, and just make yourself comfortable. Thanks again..you really saved my life that day; I mean…next time, I won’t try swimming deep.” He laughed as I chuckled.

  I was fast to rescue him from the raging storm the day he went swimming and dipped into the ocean. He has a slight resemblance to Emerald, perhaps he is her brother.

  After waiting for some minutes, Emerald came down the stairs looking hot in her baggy shirt and pants. I mean, my breath almost went off, just at the sight of those pretty eyes. I smiled at her, taking a sip from the drink Daniel had offered me. Well, he told me his name, we kind of had a little chat before he went into the kitchen

  “Oh…Pumpkin” He called her, as she glared at him before walking towards us. She was just a few steps away when Daniel dropped the tray of cookies and spoke up

  “Erm..I will just leave you both to talk and enjoy the cookies. Mum made it before leaving for the Spa, trust my mum’s cookies to be really delicious. He winked before leaving. I smiled, returning my gaze to Emerald, who was clearly glaring daggers at me.

  “Hi…” I muttered

  She scoffed

  “What the hell did you do to him?” She asked. I frown

  "Who”

  “My brother…did you cast a spell on him or what?” She yelled

  I chuckled

  “No...i didn’t”

  “Then why is he treating you nicely. He should have broken your balls by now, you enchanted him”

  “No, I didn’t…he knows that I am a nice person, harmless..handsome..you just don’t want to see it,” I explained proudly. She scoffed again, folding her arms

  “Pumpkin..” I called, pouting. She blushed but tried hard to conceal it

  “Don’t call me that"

  “But he called you….”

  “You heard me, don’t call me pumpkin..and what the hell do you wanna see me for...I was busy before you came,” She snapped, turning her face to the other side to prevent me from seeing the already fading blush. I chuckled

  “Ok fine…i…erm..I want us to talk,” I stated, looking into her eyes.

  “Let’s use your garden; it’s gonna be a better place to talk right?” I asked, giving her that pleading look, hoping she wouldn’t turn me down, and thank God she didn’t

  “Fine…but be fast with whatever you have to say”

  “Sure” I mouthed, as she led the way. I viewed her butt from behind; despite the baggy clothes she was wearing, her curves and butt still fought their way through. Damn, humans are hot
