A reasonable hate

Heavy breathing could be heard, if one was near the person that was running intensely. One would think that he was training for a race.

Julo would like to think it was just training. However, he couldn't dream for long as he had to run at full speed for 5 minutes straight and it didn't help that he wasn't the best at phsycial stuffs. However, he could only hope that his Versile body was enough to handle it.

That was proving to be difficult as he tripped again and covering his body with mud.

Normally, he would get the mud off his face but the situation wasn't exactly ideal for it.

He would takes a 5 seconds break every once in a while. Although, it wasn't enough, it was still better than none.

Time was running out and he was trying his best.

He just hoped that he would get there in time.

  ***

"You brought snacks?" Travestita said with a grin.

  "How generous." She followed up.

She was in a new outfit that was different from what she wore a few days prior. One of the main reason for this was because she was usually the undercover person for missions.

She couldn't blame them though, her Versile was the perfect power for being undercover.

"I haven't eaten anything for lunch yet."

She said, suggesting that Hitomi should give her the chocolate bar.

Hitomi looked as if she didn't care about her hunger as she signaled her take one bite.

Travestita opened her mouth and closed her eyes.

Hitomi smiled at the sight and shoved the bar into her mouth.

"You fkaging dikc." She blurted out loudly, however it was all muffled.

  Hitomi giggled.

Travestita tried to punch her but it was to no avail. She was simply dodging all of her attacks and giggling even more.

In the mist of Travestita's outrage, Gino was taking his well deserved rest and playing Uno with the others. There wasn't much people, so he had to wait for a while for both of them to stop doing whatever they are doing.

He was winning by a large margin every single match and was accused of cheating almost every single time. He could only deny that he wasn't using his Versile and kept playing. However, the members didn't believe him, so they put a Versation detector near him.

They knew the detector won't work on a person like Gino who could hide his Versation from the detector but it still gave them a sense of safety from his deck.

Of course, he wasn't really cheating but getting accused of it made him feel proud.

'A plus 10' He smiled as he looked at his cards.

Although, he didn't know how Uno worked properly, he still knew that he should use the plus 10 on other players. Since this was the no mercy edition where a individual loses if their cards exceeds 24, he had a plan to get everyone out of the game.

He put his hand on the plus 10 and just as he was about to put it down.

  He stopped.

His enhanced ears picked up something. Gino looked at the entrance as he identify the sound as someone running up the stairs.

  "Gino?"

  The green haired asked confusingly.

"Lent, wait for a minute." He replied before running over to the stairs.

He ran for a bit before stopping in front of the stairs. He looked down to see Julo getting shocked by his appearance before losing his balance.

Gino quickly grabbed him by the arm and pulled him back.

Julo grabbed the handlebar tightly and used the bar to regained his balance. However, he couldn't recover that fast after running and he had to press his hand against his knee.

Gino carefully examined Julo's body for any injuries in case he ran here because of an emergency. Although, he didn't know the reason why Julo had to come here that fast, he still assumed it was because of the bodyguard mission he had given both of them.

"Julo? Are you alright?" He asked, worrying about Julo's state.

"Some......Some.one." He paused to take a deep breath before following up.

  "Someone.. wait no."

"Stark is chasing someone. We need to chase after them."

Gino's face suddenly tensed up as he carried Julo and ran back to the living room.

"We need everyone to assist Stark in a mission."

They looked at him and nodded after grasping the situation. Julo couldn't make out everyone in the room due to exhaustion, however, he could see that everyone in the room was looking more serious than before.

Some might be less serious than the others but they were still serious in the end.

Gino put him in the coach and rushed to his office which Julo assumed was to write a report. He repeatedly took deep breath before calming down.

He looked up to see Hitomi looking carefully at him. Her eyes turned focus until her pupil dilated before turning back into normal. She ran out and instead of going to the exit, she went to Gino's office.

Julo felt uncomfortable, unconsciously. Although, he didn't know what was making him like this, he knew that he should joins the other on the chase.

He walked towards Gino's office slowly and reached his hand for the door. However, before he had anytime to grab it, the door opened and he almost fell face first. Thankfully, Gino grabbed him by the shoulders and looked at him, as if asking for an answer on why he had to get into the office.

  "Gino." Julo said weakly.

  Gino sighed before replying.

  "You want to join?"

Julo was taken aback briefly and nodded.

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Gino went to his desk and bended down. He took out a pill inside and handed it to Julo.

  "Take this and eat it."

"You should have a idea on what pill this is."

Julo looked down at the pill and put it into his mouth. After he chewed on what felt like tofu, he suddenly felt a rush of relief as he was able to walk normally again.

"Don't get excited. The pill only recover your versile energy and removes the ability to feel tiredness."

Gino looked at Hitomi and opened his mouth.

"Hitomi, carry him. The pill doesn't last long."

Hitomi showed an expression of annoyance before agreeing.

  "Alright, it's time to go."

Gino said as he closed the door to his office.

However, Julo remembered something as he shouted.

  "Captain!"

The door opened again as Gino looked him, intensely.

"I have a Versation tracker on him."

Gino's annoyed expression suddenly disappeared as he grabbed his hand. Just as he grabbed the hand, Julo suddenly saw a white flash over his palm as Gino let go out it.

  "This is troublesome." Gino exclaimed.

"We only got the general location but I'll make it work."

"Go, now. I'll send backups if you need it."

Hitomi grabbed him by the waist and ran out of the window while putting something in her ear.

She looked at Julo before giving him something that looked like a earbud.

Julo grabbed it and put it in his ear as well.

"Hold on tight." She said before running off to the location.

  ***

Gino watched as both of them leave and went back to his office to make a proper report.

He wished that he could join them, however, he couldn't due to the risk of people breaking in. He rubbed his temple before sitting down in his chair and turned on his PC before immediately calling his supervisor, Winston.

Despite the situation, he didn't pick up the call.

Gino was slightly angry but he still knew that Winston didn't know what was going on, so he was quite patient with him.

  He called him again.

  No response.

It was at the third call he finally picked up.

"Gino, is there something you want to ask?" Winston asked seriously. He knew that Gino doesn't just call him three times in a row unless it was serious. Which it was.

"Winston..." His voice sounded seriously weak, although he wasn't. He was weak mentally but he could put up a good fight if anyone decided to fight him.

"Winston. Julo's Versile have a hole in it."

A loud silence immediately entered the room as the atmosphere was slowly becoming suffocating. Sweats were pouring down Gino's face because he had to utter these words to the supervisor. He knew that Winston was the type of person to do horrified things if something happened to the person he liked.

Unfortunately, Gino knew he liked Julo.

  "Was it intentional?"

Gino might have fought against people that were stronger than him but Winston was still a different breed for him. He doubt he could handle 5 seconds against him. Not that he was planning to fight him.

"What is?" He already knew the answer but he had confirmed it just in case.

"Was the hole done by someone or was it a mistake?"

Versile hole were not commonly found in official Versile users but there was still a great number of it. If a person had a hole then they were good as dead.

The reason was Versile's pathways were important to the body as other organs. If it didn't exist then there would be a huge loads of problem to do with and death was near certain.

Even if one didn't have a Versile, they still had a pathways in their body.

Having a hole in your Versile meant the body was using a faulty vital organ. The scary thing was people could manually put holes in other people's body. However, it wasn't stealthy to people that was higher than Uncoiled.

That's how he knew that someone had placed a hole on Julo's body.

"Someone. I'm not sure who it was but I sensed Versation from the time domain."

"The time domain huh." His voice sent shivers down Gino's spine. Every part of his instinct was telling him that he was talking to a predator and that he was in danger.

"Gino, we need to make him an Overlapped as soon as possible."

"The hole is expanding faster than I have ever seen. At this rate, being an Overlapped would only delay it."

  "Shit."

"I'll figure something out. You try to help Julo as much as you can."

Gino didn't reply and just listened as he already tried to help Julo by letting him go. He opened the website to write a report.

Before he could even do that, his head was feeling dizzy and he pressed his hand on it.

He quietly mumbled with a tone of sadness.

  "I fucking hate this."

  ***

  "Where you at, Stark?"

Hitomi asked through the earpud. Although, the earpud was deep inside her ear, it was still a Versile item which could pick up voices if injected with Versile.

–Can't you just track with that fancy machine of yours?

"It's faster if you just give me the address."

–Just track me. I have almost lost him 4 times now trying to tell the rest about my location.

Hitomi sighed and looked over to Julo who heard everything before rolling her eyes. It wasn't that she didn't like him. It was just that she didn't want anyone to get hurt.

She knew that Julo was extremely weak compared to the others and he should have stay in the building rather than joining. She still didn't know why he volunteered to do that but it wasn't her business. What her business is keeping people safe and that includes Julo.

"Julo, you know how to use that thing, right?" She asked while looking at his gun.

  Julo nodded.

"You don't" She immediately replied and pointed her finger at Julo's finger which was on the trigger.

"You don't any trigger discipline and the way you hold your gun is wrong."

Julo was embarrassed and didn't dare to look her in the eyes. She was right. He had nearly gotten himself killed just a few minutes ago when he shot his gun.

"Whatever, I'll teach when we make it back alive."

She said before running at full speed again.

  ***

He looked around in an alley before climbing the building to get on top of the roof.

  BANG

A loud gunshot sounded in the alley as Stark followed from behind and aimed at the person before shouting.

  "Get down!"

They didn't listen as they kept climbing while moving repeatedly to dodge the bullets and unfortunately for them, they weren't faster than a bullet as the bullet hit a hand. They fell down and landed on their knee.

Stark went up to him and started laughing and bended down.

It was then they suddenly grabbed a pipe and hit him in the ankle. Stark screamed before pressing his ankle and looking up at them.

'Why can't I think clearly around him?'

This was the 4 times this has happened to him. Although, all of the previous one were as dangerous as this one.

He hadn't see them use their Versile and quickly managed to figure something out.

  'Mind domain.'

Every Versile had a domain or rather, a type.

There were many types but all of them can be traced back to 8 types. Time, Space, Imagination, Life, Creation, Law and Concept. All of them were powerful in their own aspect. The time and space domain had the ability to manipulate time or space and alter it. The Imagination domain could make anyone do anything just by telling them or they could change memories of people.

The creation domain can create and destroy the things they made. The Law and Concept domain weren't well understood to Stark due to Stark not knowing anyone with the domain.

Currently, the one in front of Stark was from the mind domain, which was certainly annoying to deal with but it was doable.

Unfortunately, he was most likely going to die as a consequence of realizing it a bit too late.

He closed his eyes and hoped that they wouldn't kill him.

Just as he quickly tried to smash his head with a bar, a fist smashed into their skull and a girl with white hair was visible behind them. It was Travestita.

It was her Versile that allowed her to instantly burst with speed for a few moment. The downside was that one of her outfit would removed as a side effect and it costed a lot of energy to do. Lucky, since she only used his hand to attack them nothing fell off and even if she did on her whole body, she had a way for her original clothes not to fall off.

Although, she didn't do that for the rest of her clothes because it was too tiring.

  "Thanks." Stark mumbled.

"No worries." She mumbled as well.

They quickly got into battle mode as they suddenly moved and attacked Travestita. Lucky, she quickly dodged and launched a counter that missed. However, she didn't let him get a attack on her and quickly moved back.

They screamed and all of them covered their ears as they quickly ran to the street. However, Hitomi was already waiting for him as she stared intensely at them. Mind attack didn't work well on a mind enhanced by technology.

She looked and noticed something. The bank robber from before was the same as this one. Although the ability from before could repel objects. However, it was most likely a byproduct of the mind domain's power and chances are they had learned how to control it.

She dropped Julo and aimed her hand at the person before her hand suddenly opening up and 6 barrels came out of it. The person's expression was almost too funny to watch as she smiled and started shooting the darts.

She had to take them alive as they could give important information, however she doesn't really need to take them alive but she thought it was the best outcome. Unless, they were a danger to the other members. If then she would kill.

She looked at the target, only to see them passed out.

She smiled before mumbling 'too easy'. She looked around to see the rest of the members recovering from the mind attack. However, Julo was almost fine, unlike before as he looked at the target.

She went up to them and bended down to take off the mask when something felt off. She quickly jumped, however she couldn't control the speed and landed hard on the ground. She looked around to see everything going at speed she couldn't see.

Despite this, she overclocked her hardware to process information faster. However, it didn't help much as she saw someone grabbed Julo and the culprit away.

She stood up and ran after them in the rain before her hardware gave up faster than she expected.

  She really hated overclocking.
