Unfortunate targeting

Hitomi struck the ground with her bare hands as she clearly expressed her anger. She repeatedly struck the ground, over and over again without stopping for a while.

  Julo had been kidnapped.

Most kidnapped victims don't make it after the first 24 hours but that was the case with normal people. If anyone was an Uncoiled in the kidnapping then one or two things would happen.

Either the kidnapper gets beaten up or the victim would fall without having any chance to fight back. Of course, Julo had beaten an Uncoiled before, however, the gap between Uncoiled and Overlapped was higher than the gap between Normal versile and Uncoiled.

From what she saw, she was sure that the person was at least an Overlapped. She had no chance against them even if every member worked together. That is if she was excluding Gino, of course.

"Hitomi." She heard as she felt a pat on her shoulders.

  "We need to report this."

She turned around to see Travestita and stopped as she was told.

Other members were in disbelief due to the nature of the Versile they had witnessed. They all could tell that the person behind the attack was a rank higher than theirs and that they weren't qualified enough to handle this kind of threat.

They could only hope that Gino would be fast enough to help him as they ran towards the department.

  ***

"NO. I AM NOT SENDING THEM." Gino shouted on a call furiously.

"Gino, they will send them if you don't."

  "THEN LET ME GO THERE."

"You don't have permission to leave the building, yet." He paused for a bit.

"If you still decide to leave, you'll get executed."

Gino didn't speak for a while.

"Gino, I have sent backups to the members."

"And don't worry the backup will go in first when they find the place where Julo is at."

  ***

  Muffled noises.

'LET ME GO' Julo tried to say, however, his mouth was wrapped around by a cloth, so it only came out as muffled noises.

"Shut up." The kidnaper hit him in the back.

The pain caused him to screamed which the kidnapper to become more annoyed. He dropped Julo on the ground hard floor and tied his hands even more.

Julo could easily use his Versile to escape, however, he felt that trying to escape in this man's presence was the same as killing yourself with a gun. It was simply too suicidal.

Although Julo could take the risk to avoid certain death, he knew that there was a better chance later.

  "Although I can't kill you, don't think that I won't do anything."

He said as he kicked Julo in the face, breaking his nose. As blood started pouring down his face, Julo quickly looked around to know where he was. However, he didn't. From what he could see, this was a dark and cold place with many rooms.

He briefly thought he was in a basement of a criminal mastermind but shook his head to keep these thoughts away. He was in a terrible place where he could die any moment, he had to think clearly on how to escape. Other than these thoughts, he needed to keep everything away.

"Where are you looking at?" He said as he kicked him once more.

Julo looked at him, intensely before looking away. The eye contact only lasted for half a second but it was plenty for the kidnapper to see the emotions in his eyes.

"You want to kill me, right?" He laughed and kicked him again. Every kick was done effortlessly, however, the impact seems to be the full force of a grown man.

Julo flinched every time it hit and it was starting to annoy him. However, he kept a calm mind as he kept looking around for any hints of escape.

He looked at the entrance the kidnapper brought him through but it was to no avail as he was in front of it. He started panicking a little but he was still calm enough to think clearly.

"Still trying to find an exit?"

He grinned as he put his hand on Julo's face.

"You don't have to wait to meet your demise."

Julo felt a foreign energy enter his mind as time started to speed up and he realized that the power that was entering his brain was the same as before. This time it was more intense due to physical contact.

However, he noticed something interesting when time sped up.

It seems like it didn't have much effect on him. Of course, it would speed up time for him but it wasn't as bad as the members. For him, it was like time was sped up by 1.5x times. It was still enough for anyone to kill him but it was low enough to react to people attacking.

And it didn't last as long, only lasting for more than a hundred seconds.

His thought was proven right as time slowly sped up and stopped when it reached a certain point.

He checked the room to see no one. The room itself was creepy as there were boxes full of clocks, however he didn't care about that. The only thing he cared about is that he had left.

Previously, he couldn't properly see due to the intensity of the Versile, only seeing quickly moving lights.

He checked his firearm to confirm it was there.

He took a deep breath before walking out of the room. His hands were tied by a strange rope that had a few waves coming out.

Julo guessed that tampering with the rope would alert the kidnapper, which he was desperately trying to avoid. He had no choice but to walk with it on.

He knew that there was a chance of the rope having a tracker built in but he couldn't just wait for his death to arrive.

He carefully examined his surroundings and tried remembering where he went through before ending up in the room.

After looking around for a while, he found a place that matches his memories and went through it.

He wasn't sure if it was the right place since he only had a split second to memorize the layout.

Julo trusted his guts and went through it.

He repeated this for numerous doors before standing in front of a door the kidnapper brought him in.

Looking closely at it, the entrance was the same as any other doors. The only thing different about it was the lock.

Of course, it was to be expected that the entrance to this place would have a lock in place.

Did you know this text is from a different site? Read the official version to support the creator.

He reached for the lock and used his Versile to melt it. As the lock dripped slowly to the ground, he looked around to check for anyone.

  Yet, he didn't see anyone.

He was already getting creeped out by this place, so he extended his hand to pull the handle.

  "Huh."

He felt a chill go down his spine as a voice echoes behind him.

  "My assumptions were correct."

Julo instantly turned around to see the kidnapper standing still.

However, he didn't look for long as he quickly turned the handle and slammed the door open.

Unfortunately, for him, he would not watch him leave as Julo felt a grabbing force.

Julo, which wasn't expecting this, got flung back and hit against the hard wall.

He closed his eyes for a bit due to the pain before reaching for his gun. Unfortunately, he couldn't reach for it due to the rope.

"Listen to this story, you lil shit. Once upon a time, there was a person that had a pupil and taught them everything he knew about."

Julo stood up and tried to run, however time sped up as he crashed into a wall.

"One day, somebody kills the pupil on a mission and the teacher finds out about it."

Julo got up again. This time was ready for time to speed up.

"A few days later, the teacher got a hold of the killer and yet couldn't do anything because of an order."

Julo didn't have time for his sob story as he melted the rope and threw it into his mouth.

"How would you fee-?!" The melted rope got into his mouth as he started choking.

The view of the rope became fuzzy as it liquified before it entered his throat.

He raised his hand and shoved it down his throat to remove it. Of course, it wasn't comfortable at all but he was already used to pain.

By the time he had gotten the rope out of his throat, Julo was already gone.

"ENOUGH." The kidnapper was furious as he screamed before hitting the entrance at hard as he could.

The door and wall around it instantly crumbled, making it unusable.

He looked around for any trace of Versation as people unconsciously sometimes use it.

He looked at the hallway before smiling.

  He had found a trace.

He ran straight towards to it before disappearing from view.

Fortunately, Julo was running in another hallway.

He had tricked him by taking one of his shirt's buttons and melting it.

He knew that people could track his versile by the versation due to the members teaching him the basics of Versile combat.

Although they didn't teach him much, it was still enough to be useable in combat.

That's when he noticed another pattern other than the time speeding up.

  It was the clocks.

  A lot of clocks.

Everywhere he looked, there would be one.

At first, he didn't pay attention to it much, however the clocks had become more obvious in the hallway. Pair that with the boxes, he couldn't help but wondered if the owner of the place had a thing for clocks.

He shook his head and kept on running forward until he heard a noise from a room.

"Also, why is there no one here?"

It was a male voice, seemingly talking to someone.

"Oh yeah, you weren't there when he announced. Apparently, a higher up will be coming to pick up someone, so we had a day off."

  Another voice echoes.

"Oh. Why are you still here."

"Well. I had something to do here."

  "So, can I just leave?"

  "Yeah."

The voice seemed to get closer to Julo as he started holding his breath.

  "Alright then see ya."

Julo gripped his gun as he got ready to shoot. However, at the last moment, he realized that the gun would make too much noise.

As the person got in front of Julo, he grabbed him by the throat before choking him.

  "Dude?"

The person in the room spoke.

Julo didn't pay any attention to it as he kept choking him. The person was moving around like a fish before remaining still.

Julo wanted to throw up but he had to hold it. He started thinking about what he will do next before the person in the room got here.

"Are you okay?" He moved in the direction of Julo as he talked.

Just before he saw the corpse of his friend, Julo went behind him swiftly and tried to choke him. However, he saw that as he turned around and punched Julo. Lucky, Julo had already dodged before kicking him in the balls.

He briefly fell to his knee but it was only an instant.

An instant was more than enough for Julo.

He grabbed his head and snapped it as another corpse fell to the ground.

Julo watched as the urge to throw up became even stronger until he couldn't resist anymore. He threw up on the wall and was breathing heavily.

Looking at the room they came from, he thought of the conversation they had.

  'A higher up.'

That was the word that caught his attention. Assuming that the 'he' they mention was the kidnapper, that means the higher up would be more powerful than him.

He became more tensed up as he walked into the room to find anything that would lead to his escape. Inside the room were several papers hanging onto the wall. He got close to it and read what's on the paper.

His heart instantly sank as he read the paper in front him.

Julo stared at the elimination priority for a bit before reading every paper. However, even though the paper had every member. It seems like he was the only one with a high priority to be eliminated.

Julo was confused to say the least. He didn't know why he was targeted this much since he hadn't see anyone try to kill him.

However, deep down he felt helpless as he reread the paper again.

Thankfully, he had learned something new. It seems like the level above Overlapped is Spread. Although, Julo doubted that he had the qualification to know this information.

And a new thing called domain. He had learned a litte about it by the members but it was better to know more about them due to the members not telling him the stuff he wasn't qualified for.

Julo shook his head and decided to think about this later, when he escaped.

He carefully examined the room to see if he had missed anything before looking at the table in the middle.

There was something on top of it.

  It was a book.

  A red book.
