Moving on, after walking for a minute or so, Kiana finds the next set of stairs for the next floor. The path was rather straightforward, there weren’t any secondary paths or anything of that sort and since the slimes didn’t dare to make a move, it really was a walk in the park. The straight forward design of the floor is probably because it’s the first floor, it is designed to be easy. However, the dungeon has “100” floors. Part of me hopes that this does not stay this boring for too long. Who knows, from how Kiana overreacted, I’m more than sure that she will be up for her shenanigans for the next floor or for however long she spends in here.
Floor 2.
Well, I was right and wrong at the same time, it was boring and Kiana didn’t do anything at all. The same happens here, nothing worth reporting at all. Not only that, the layout of the floor is the same, the “design” that is, it’s not a copy paste of the first one but they have the same characteristics in terms of the environment. However, the same can be said about the monsters there, only slimes, the small version, all of them quivering in fear. The length of the floor is exactly the same as the first one.
Floor 3.
More of the same, somewhat. The environment, length and the type of monsters are the same however, there is a notable increase of the numbers of the slimes present. Like, a lot more. The previous floor the same happened but not to this extent, still nothing that she cannot handle but something to take note. The difficulty is slowly increasing. As she was getting closer to the set of stairs for the next floor, there actually are slimes moving around. It seems that the magic that Kiana used in the first floor did not reach here, all the way to the end of the 3rd floor. Now that is rather odd, I don’t think she has walked for that long so maybe the dungeon is “absorbing” the magic that was let out into the air? Huh, something to pay more attention to, I guess. Anyway, these slimes have failed to notice Kiana at all, they are minding their business, bumping into each other, then trying to eat each other only to fail, then repeat the same process, and again and again, until they get tired? They should have noticed Kiana by now and yet, where we are seeing this spectacle that we call nature.
“It’s quite simple, I’m just limiting my natural magic output to the level of the floor itself. To them, I’m something that is part of the floor, like a rock for example.”
Thanks to the skills Magic Sense and Magic Control, anyone can achieve these results. With Magic Control you can “easily” adjust how much magic you are emitting, then with the Magic Sense you can actually sense said magic helping you out reduce or increase until you are satisfied. Magic Control allows you to do much more than this of course, but this is extremely useful to know how to. Everything and I mean that, monsters, humans, all the living things, they gauge each other by the amount of magic energy they have, if they have less, they are weak and vice versa. While monsters have the tendency to go all out against their foes, humans on the other hand, have the tendency to “match” their strength to the threat in front of them. If said opponent is hiding their magic then, it will be more than probable that this individual will underestimate his opponent, making him get caught off guard with the sudden burst of strength. Anyway, I was jabbering once again, Kiana walks past the slimes and descends down to the next floor.
Floor 4.
The same happens, nothing to comment about this one. More slimes here, more slimes there, all of them minding their business and doing whatever nature decided they have to do. They are so weak that Kiana does not bother to defeat them at all and I somewhat understand why. Even though she needs money, their value is simply far too low for her to waste time to defeat them and then pick up their magic stones. It’s not worth the time, it’s better for her to keep going down the dungeon as much as she can until two things happen, she fights a boss or finds a checkpoint, something that I believe they exist thanks to the teleport magic circle in the lobby. The boss monster is thanks to the potential higher value drops that he might, well, drop.
Floor 5.
Everything was going the same until of course, it didn’t. Finally, after one whole hour things are about to get more serioussss-
“Medium Slimes and Goblins?”
Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author's consent. Report any sightings.
What a massive jump in difficulty! Not really, however, from the F rank slimes, these two really are a massive jump. The rank of Goblins is a little for the “vary” side, an unarmed goblin is F+ rank, while the medium slimes are E rank. But, let’s start with the goblins first then, varying between 1-1.20 meter tall, these monsters are basically the size of a child. This makes them quite weak physically however, they can still do some damage as their claws, not nails, claws are for the sharp side, easily able to scratch human skin and of course, dealing damage to said human. They are green, their arms are long, so much so that their hands go past their knees if they are standing and in a relaxed pose, they have big green noses, ones that are full of pimples? Or whatever that is. They have big eyes, ears that resemble the ones from elves although much bigger and pointing sideways rather than upwards. Now for the medium slimes, they look the same as the small ones but bigger, close to the size of the goblins in terms of height, since they have an oval shape, their width is a little more than their height.
As I said before, the medium slimes are also E rank monsters, stronger than these goblins, however, thanks to their “variety” the goblins end up being more dangerous than the medium slimes. What makes them more dangerous is the fact that they inexplicably can use weapons, armour and even magic. This of course makes them higher rank once they are capable of such as they are not born knowing it, they have to learn or in other words, they have to teach each other how to. The biggest “problem” is, how did they even learn all of this in the first place? No one knows this but this is not the end of it, not only are they capable of doing all of this, they also have further evolutions, a lot of them in fact, while the Goblin King is the strongest one at a respectable B rank. Seriously, this guy could easily face Alice and come out without much damage at all if any.
“Humph! It seems I will have to dirty my hands.”
Well, you sure have a smile on your face as you say this. Though, she’s right, the medium slimes are somehow more sensitive to magic than the small ones, so much so that they can actually detect Kiana even though she has the same amount of magic as a rock for example, they are that sensitive. However, this only happens if Kiana is no more than 50 centimetres from them as anything above that and Kiana is said “rock”. The goblins, while they don’t have this ability, they simply need to use their big ol’ eyes, easily spotting Kiana from a few meters from them. Right at the exit for the next floor a few of them are standing there blocking it, nothing out of this world in terms of numbers but, there are ten goblins, two medium slimes and three slimes, those two medium slimes are Hydro while the other ones are GEO slimes. Nothing that she can’t handle-
“Inferno Flames!”
Swoosh! Fire noises!
Again!? Is there any need for this much violence!? You actually don’t need any money at all and I’m worried for nothing? What made you so angry? What?
“Have you seen their faces?”
I mean, yeah, even though right now I don’t have a body I still can see them quite well, just like I can easily see your beauty.
“They look disgusting! Urgh, if I can, I will do my utmost to not touch them at all, even with my boots for example! They are far too cute to get bloody by their horrifying blood! Never!”
Ehhhh… I can see that? Maybe? Your point of view make sense? I think? Wh-What about the slimes and their jelly-like body? Don’t you find them a little jelly?
“I don’t mind the slimes at all, in fact! I find them cute. I actually remember a story that someone read to me although I did read it by myself later… It’s about a guy that was stabbed, died and the got reincarnated as a slime-”
Yeah, yeah, stop with that before we get in trouble!
What the hell is wrong with ya?
Anyway! After going way overboard for dubious reasons, she casually descends down to the 6th floor and to no one's surprise, nothing has changed. Great!
Floor 6.
In this floor the small slimes are gone, now it’s filled with medium slimes and goblins, not to the same extent as the previous one in terms of numbers but enough to notice the increase of difficulty. It more than seems that the dungeon tried to match the difficulty from the previous floor by increasing the overall strength of the monsters while simultaneously decreasing their numbers. The floor itself is pretty similar to the previous five floors, the length is roughly the same, the environment and so on. However, something has changed on Kiana as she’s now defeating them left and right but only, and I mean that, only the goblins. The slimes are left alone for some reason. Although, she’s defeating them with her Shirin Scissors, half of it in this case, for someone that didn’t want to get touched or even close by them, right now she sure is rather close. Oh well, with minimal effort she is defeating all of those goblins and any slime that is unfortunate enough to mess with her contradicting to what I just said... Well, she does pick up all the magic stones and because of this, she is “wasting” her precious time. Let’s see how much it will be worth as she’s defeating quite a few of them. In these six floors she has defeated 57 monsters, being that 30 of them were in the curse of five floors and the rest 27 were in this floor alone. Huh, things might actually start to get some action after all. As I said, let’s keep tabs on all of this and at the end, let’s see if it was worth it or not.
