Chapter 8- Two Hours Earlier/ I sighed

  Two Hours Earlier

'So let's talk about you. '

  'What about me, human. '

  'My names One. '

  'It should be damsel-less. '

'See! This is what I mean. Your doing a whole lot of criticizing for a bunch of wind. ' I exclaimed before falling into a sigh.

'What makes you the expert on Damsels anyway? '

This time Willow sighed and as he did it felt like wind was whistling between my ears. I shivered a little.

'Listen hear, One the human boy with no damsels and listen good. I am the wind that slipped from beyond! I am the push that toppled the great tree. I am !-

'No I get that. You explained that when I woke up the second time. '

A sound like the wind whistling between my teeth passed over as Willow began chuckling.

'Really. I wasn't too sure you heard me. You seemed awfully more distracted at the time. '

I shrugged and as I did I drifted off into memory.

"Hey, hey, hey, psss, you awake yet? Messenger boy...psss. Are we sure he's not dead professor? "

"Hush girl we can't have another Messenger die here. They'll stop sending me packages. "

  ".....That would be bad. "

"Very bad girl . Very bad. And if it does happen. By God I swear I'll send you to the fairy forest personally to collect the dust off the little buggers wings. "

"Your cold hearted, professor. Just evil."

"Takes one to know one my dear pupil. Takes one to know one. "

"AHEM! Your both atrocious let me assure you of that." The voice paused to take a bite of something. "Do not worry young Vimea you are not a murderer today, the matter has been handled. "

  "Ahhh! Thank you James. "

"Handled! " A voice boomed. "What do you mean handled. "

"Just that Lucien. The boy will be fine. He's taken in a spirit. "

""Woahhhh."" A booming voice and a girly one said in collusion.

"Uncle James, your the best. "

".....Are you sure about this James. Those aren't easy to come by. "

"If the boy died, I believe our fairy dust situation would be bigger than a spirit. Besides, " he began lazily. "I can aquire another next time I crossover. It is a small matter."

A girly voice chimed in. " Which kind of spirit, did he get anyway..."

"Ask the boy yourself dear girl.

After all this whole time he's been awake. "

Sweat creased my brow as I felt all eyes turn toward me. Even through closed kids I could feel the gaze.

Reluctantly I opened my eyes and swept them across the room.

  "You called? "

  "Hehe. He's funny."

"Boy! It is not good to eavesdrop. " The dubious chubby man boomed at me as he twiddled his mustache.

"I think it's a good survival instinct. " replied James.

I said nothing instead deciding to swallow the embarrassment of being caught with the much larger to desire to see the state of my body.

With slight trepidation I went to lift up my right arm.

  It responded perfectly.

With a sigh of relief I realized I had just sighed as well, which ment my throat healed.

As relief flooded me I let my head fall deeper in the pillow, relief washing over me.

"Are you okay boy? " For the first time that day, the professor spoke quietly as he twisted his mustache, his dubious features painted with concern.

"I'm fine. " I said. 'In fact' I thought. I'm more than fine. I felt light in those moments like my body was light as a feather.

"This spirit business. " I began. "What exactly is it. "

The three mages tooses each other a look.

  "Ask the spirit."

Indeed, There he was to my right. The willow of a wind sitting thier grandly arms crossed. Somehow managing to project it's arrogance without a face.

"Are you surprised boy! Healing one like you is easy for one such as me. I am the wind that slipped from beyond! I am the push that toppled the great tree. I am !-

While the willow was shouting what exactly he was, in the background I heard James conversate with Vimea.

"Dear girl, maybe you should walk him halfway home. There's a chance he may not be adjusted. "

  My ear perked up.

"Alright, this seems pretty important though, so Ill wait till he's finished. "

In seconds I was up, prior pain forgotten and spirit ignored. Before someone could point it to me I had satchel over shoulder and was stretching out my arms.

"Ahem," I said cutting off the confused spirit with a look toward Vimea.

In my head I heard the spirit chuckle as he dissipated.

'Indeed boy, the damsel first. '

  'See, you were distracted."

I laughed akwardly. 'Alright, I was. I'm listnening now though. What exactly are you Willow.'

The wind began to blow heavily. 'Listen close, this time boy, for I wont say again. I am the wind that slipped from beyond! I am the push that toppled the great tree. I am !-'

  "Is that you One! "

Willow was cut off as a figure approached. A burly man with a mask of ssteel aproaching with a wave.

'Sorry Willow, Ill listen after this.' I said rubbing my head awkardly.

'Nope, you missed your chance boy. You can figure out who this mighty wind spirit is on your own time. '

'C'mon Willow, dont be like that. Willow , hey Willow.'

  There was no response.

  I sighed.
