CHAPTER 232 **The Race has Started!**

Matilda wondered how things could be so different between two emperors…As she had no want at all to help the yellow emperor’s health!

Yet, Emperor Seth had been so well mannered that she wanted to help him…

“What is next, my love?” Matthew asked.

Matilda stopped and blinked, “Oh right.”

She had automatically started to walk towards the kitchen.

The kitchen had been busy a lot since a month ago!

Matilda didn’t want to worry too much about things and so because she was able to store food and its heat, even food was being made for this meeting early…Even though they all hadn’t even rocked up yet!

Pcing all the made dishes into her storage, Matilda looked over the few people there and sighed.

There were diligent people here that had no job before, now she had given them work. The help for several things from others for this meeting was something that she didn’t want to forget either. Something extra will be given to those who do well! And those who had done the best had been in the kitchen!

The meals weren’t made all day, as she got less and less helpers. An and Christian were the best at getting meat from outside but as they were killing more and more beasts, they had to go further and further away…But An had been told to go with Katherine to bring someone here and so…The meat really was something that was holding them back from making too many meals in advance.

“Father should be coming back soon.” Matthew stated, picking up a piece of fruit.

Kin also picked up some fruit but said nothing.

Christian was trouble, even though he was helping.

But because he didn’t want to take too long getting back, he would leave behind a ‘trail’ of his cultivation, as he pretty much rode his kill back home…So…Matilda had to fix his ‘trail’s’ up, so that Golden Haven wouldn’t look like a dump!

Just another job that she had to do!

Sitting down not too far away, also with a piece of fruit, Matilda got pulled into arms and then she started to eat.

There were already fruits in the rooms, having been pced there just a bit earlier.

Fruit can’t always be the best but still, what they had was eatable and well, they were welcome to help out! If the visitors wanted to compin when so much work had already been done to welcome and have them as visitors over god knows how many days, Matilda was ready to state that they could do their own work!

It was probably her luck that she was waiting for them to compin, so to give her less work about worrying about feeding them, but really no one may say a word about the eating process at all…In turn that would make her do more work…

The next to arrive seemed to be the next day…Oh and what a day it will be!

It seems a few will be arriving…

“There’s no more today, the third I thought would arrive had stopped to make camp…”

She didn’t think that they would make camp, considering that there was more daylight left, but they had and so no more were going to come! Yay!

“So…” Kin wanted to state that they were now free.

Matilda looked at him, interrupting him, “There’s no free time now, Kin. From now on keep vigint. They need to be watched! I doubt the Yellow Emperor will do anything stupid but nonetheless he may do something when others arrive. Hell, even tonight he may want to ‘remind’ us that he is an emperor. He might even wanna have a cry that his other ministers aren’t here or something. Just pretend that you are working all hours from now on…”

“You make it sound like we’ve become sves…” Matthew stated, pouting.

Matilda went quiet for a moment, then said, “I’m sorry. If it’s too much…”

“We are fine, I assure you!” Kin stated, looking at his father.

  Matthew grumbled into Matilda’s neck.

They were getting to know her pretty well. Matilda was doing this with or without them, so they were going to help her as much as possible. They can just rest ter!

  ***

The next day there wasn’t time to just sit around.

Someone came early in the morning, when Matilda wasn’t even ready!

They had to get up and deal with the yelling of some of the people and then the ones that already came because they had been woken up!

It wasn’t good from the get go!

The Golden Heir that had come in the dark had been quite pompous, having been brought up as a Prince…So you could probably imagine how Matilda dealt with him…

First, she told him to shut up, because he was being inconsiderate to those who were sleeping and well…He didn’t take that too well at all!

A fight had gone down and they had underestimated how annoyed and protected she was with two males that popped up beside her!

After the commotion, Matilda toke it very seriously from then on, no longer wanting to think that ‘perhaps’ they’ll wait till morning!

From then onward she had someone up through the night, just in case, and she always checked when they were to arrive, so that she was going to be there…Especially when there seemed to be so much attitude to those who were arriving!

Two more came that day, one being with Katherine and An, who seemed to still be somewhat inseparable…

So there had been two Golden Heirs and then the Red Haven Emperor came.

Luckily there wasn’t too many problems, just two extra people in the Red Haven Emperor’s entourage. Matilda was being quite considerate in telling the Red Haven Emperor that she could only take in three others besides himself. She hoped that he would easily accept the outcome of having two of them go back home…

He had been upset, as the reason why he had two too many come was because of reasons but…What could he do?

Matilda wished to just let them in, she could understand his predicament but…If she were to let him have two more, then the others would want more too…

The reasons behind the Red Haven Emperor having five others, instead of three, was because one was instead a personal doctor. Obviously, his health was quite poor and so the doctor was made to come, but of course, who was a ‘divine doctor’ here!?

Matilda persuaded the Red Haven Emperor by healing him then and there.

Luckily it wasn’t something to do with his mind this time!

She had forgotten that that was something she really wasn’t able to fix!

But it was instead something to do with what she would call ‘cancer’ in his lower region. Actually, he probably only had about a year left to live, give or take, but with Matilda’s healing he was saved and now could pee without bleeding.

Poor guy. He’s gone through so much already, to still die before bastards like the Green Haven Emperor!

Matilda was gd that she was able to be of help!

So, the doctor was able to go back home, after he was sure that his emperor was in good hands!

The other ‘extra’ with the entourage was the heir. The heir to the throne was there simply because the health of the Red Haven Emperor had been very poor. Again, it was understandable that this heir was here to begin with, considering that the Red Haven Emperor’s health had deteriorated but now…

The heir was indeed not the son of Nate, which made Matilda strangely happy, instead…It was a girl…

The girl had sharp eyes and did indeed care very much for her father.

It was a story indeed, upon why this girl was the next heir!

Of course, blood was needed to be king in Red Haven and so they knew pretty early upon the boy that Nate had left behind was not of royal blood.

That had happened quite some time ago and since then the Red Haven Emperor had not been able to produce many heirs…So it had come down to making the daughter, who was the eldest, the heir to the Red Haven throne.

Matilda could only smile at her and her story, as she seemed quite concerned too about her father, just like the doctor. It seemed that he was doing a good job for his country…Oops…Haven!

The daughter was skeptical, which wasn’t a bad thing, but she did have to return, considering the Red Haven Emperor was now back to a good health again and had already choose the three that would stay with him.

Already two days had gone by…And the next day no one came at all…

Luckily the Yellow Haven Emperor did not cause any more drama. He had stuck his head out a few times, to see and watch new people come, or to look around, but it seems that he felt completely insecure to be out of his allocated room too long without any guards.

Well…It wasn’t like the emperor’s and the golden heir’s would come all at one time, no, it was like they all had a meeting and wondered the best way to annoy the hell out of Matilda!

Not only did the ones already there needed to be tended too, but the ones incoming on the fourth day had to be welcomed too!

There was a time when not only was she letting in a Golden Heir from the Southwest, An and Katherine was welcoming another from the north!

It was on this fourth day that Matilda warned the Blue Haven Emperor to be ready for teleportation on the next day.

Actually, half of them had now come…

The fifth day was quite a busy day as well, as Madeline and Austin had returned with their Emperor from Dawn Haven, and the one that they were all worried about…Nate…Also arrived.

Matilda eyed him but did try to be welcoming…He had been a good boy after all and didn’t kill anyone on the way!

He didn’t have guards, nor did he have ministers…He was alone…And he felt how little he had when he was finally in the company of not only other Golden Heirs, but that too of Emperor’s. It was easy to mingle though, for Nate, as he already knew a few of the haven’s emperors.

It wasn’t cozy…That was for sure…But it was coming closer to something important that was obviously going to happen, and they all knew it…The big meeting upon finding the new Golden Emperor was during near!

When the Blue Haven Emperor arrived and saw this Nate, remembering him, he gave the ‘kid’ a hard time, making a fight nearly break out…

Matilda could only sigh to the old man!

Being at hand, upon this ‘fight’ that was about to break out, luckily Matilda was able to stop it before it became too much! Scolding both parties and stating loudly that the gathering of everyone wasn’t to fight and make things harder for everyone, it was for getting along to choose their next Golden Emperor! Matilda looked at them all very sternly and said, “This meeting can take a less than a week, if you can all just agree…Or it could take years! I suggest you all keep your heads on the real reason on why you are here! Otherwise, you might just lose your title to someone back at home because you are taking too long!”

No bullshit! No nonsense! Matilda wanted them to know that the sooner they choose, the better for everyone!

Her no bullshit policy seemed to switch on some type of button though, as Nate then got into action of getting approval of the emperor’s that were already there…To which even another one or two did the same, showing off any kind of thing they are able to directly show them. On the other hand, some Golden heirs stayed silent and nodded, thinking of their own strategy.

The race had started! And may the best horse win!
