"Welcome~"
Jessica mirrored the female receptionist's smile before showing her the purple card, "We'd like for Mr. Smith to be the one serving us, is he avaible at the moment?" She asked.
The receptionist and her colleagues immediately noticed how this mature beauty and the charismatic gentleman at the end were clearly protecting the handsome young man in the middle after seeing how their eyes were looking everywhen but not falling on any of their products in dispy.
"The VIP lounge is this way, please follow me." One of the female receptionists jumped on the opportunity and escorted the three of them to the elevator.
Behind her she left two women who clicked their tongues in annoyance while muttering under their breaths : "This damn Aislinn." But they still made the phone call to notify Mr. Smith about the clients waiting for him at the store before sending a message to notify their lucky partner that she's going to have to entertain them for fifteen minutes until this famous suit designer arrives.
Aislinn was certain of her earlier conclusions once she saw Bryan take his seat while both Jessica and Kyle stood on both sides next to the sofa, "Mr. Smith apologizes for the dey but he's on his way, would you like some refreshments and light snacks?" She said while thinking : 'Or me!' Then smiled.
"I might take a double shot of espresso... How about you guys?" Bryan asked while looking towards both sides.
"I'm good, thank you sir." Kyle said.
"We rarely drink or eat anything while on duty." Jessica expined.
Bryan suddenly realized that ever since they got in the car with him he didn't see Kyle or Jessica drink a single sip of water!
Meanwhile he's been drinking and exploring what's inside mini-fridge, he'd take whatever he fancies and taste this and that because this hunger deep in his belly was never really satiated... not to mention that he's bored.
"Then inform David to have that chef and his fellow nutritionist to keep in mind to always prepare the meals for you and all your colleagues once your shifts end, these two better not forget about the drivers meals as well." Bryan said before looking towards this receptionist woman who stood there clearly to listen to their conversation like a failure among spies then added with a smile on his face : "A bottle of water and a double espresso Ms. Aislinn, thank you that'd be all."
Only now did this Aislinn realize that she's getting politely dismissed by this fellow and smiled then took her leave while notifying the barista in the bar section to prepare the drink for this VIP client.
Once again she returned to the VIP lounge and served the espresso, "Anything else I can do for you Mr..." Aislinn's approach was more intentional after failing to find success when using the subtle hints.
"Thanks Aislinn. How long before Mr. Smith is here?" Bryan of course noticed how this woman is doing more than she should to grab his attention but he still maintained the same distant and a bit cold manner of conduct while dealing with her which is why instead of answering her inquiry attempt he asked this Aislinn instead.
"Uh..." Immediately she realized that this handsome young man just put her in her pce which was frustrating but she still had to answer him if she want to keep her record clean in front of her employer, that's why she checked the time and said : "I believe Mr. Smith would be here in ten more minutes maximum."
Bryan nodded without saying anything then took his espresso and leaned back before looking towards Jessica, "Any news from David?" He asked.
Jessica nodded before looking towards Aislinn and gave her a polite smile before opening her mouth to say : "I'm really sorry Ms. Aislinn but, what I'm about to say is a private matter so... can you please give us the room."
"O-of course!" Aislinn was grinding her teeth but she still gave a fake smile and left the lounge then closed the door behind her.
*Sigh*
Bryan rolled his eyes after releasing that sigh.
Jessica and Kyle exchanged a look then smiled.
"Alex and Linda's matter is concluded and that Ryan fellow received his warning but..."
"What?" Bryan asked once he saw Jessica intentionally pause.
Jessica smiled cutely after succeeding in teasing Bryan, "He refused to take the money and said that he wouldn't dare and threatened to kill himself if they forced him to do it, he had his men help the guys in doing all the work of relocating the belongings of the husband and wife then had them watch as he made the calls to the other gangs to spread the word... that block where Linnet's cloth shop and the husband and wife's restaurant is a taboo for all of their people and all those who dare enter it better be severely warned of the consequences or the repercussions would burn all of them."
Bryan nodded then squinted his eyes towards Jessica, "Still, see what you can do to make that area clean of these unpredictable people."
"I have a few contacts in the police force but these guys are unreliable since they mix with the local gangs all the time and who knows if they're going to close an eye on somethings here and there." Jessica said before adding : "I happen to know a few private contractors but they're costly, trustable though... with them keeping an eye on that location it'd mean nothing would happen under their watch."
"Kyle." Bryan turned to look the other side.
"Sir." Kyle answered after taking a side-gnce towards Jessica.
"So," Bryan finished his espresso and put the cup back on the table, "What do you think? Take my hands of the matter after the gangs received their warning, rely on the police, hire these private contractors, or... hire more guards? Which one is the best way to keep my people safe? Honestly Alex would crush everyone if he wasn't born with immense kindness deep down in his heart."
Kyle fell silent for a while before opening his mouth to say : "Jessica's idea of hiring private contractors to monitor the area is very good, just tweak it a bit and have the private contractors feed information to the local police so that they can stop anything from happening while informing that Ryan fellow that some news is coming his way after the agreement was disrespected by whoever... that way they can run it upwards on their chain of command until they can find the gang leader responsible for the mess."
"Whatever the gangsters decide to do amongst themselves is their business, good idea Kyle," Jessica said before adding : "But Bryan's idea of hiring more guards is also good, it wouldn't hurt to hire a few guards not to follow the dies or the husband and wife around or to guards their shops but to patrol the area daily."
"This way you'd have eyes and ears in the area which gives us room to take action and respond to threats much quicker, I like it... Bryan would be certain of their safety the more yers we add to the defensive bubble while keeping emphasis on the variety of our methods." Kyle nodded.
"Agreed." Jessica was feeling proud of their successful teamwork in front of her employer.
Bryan thought about it for a while before opening his mouth to say : "Do it. But do your best to have everything as normal as possible for all of them... I don't want them to feel anything at all."
"I'll settle the private contractors." Jessica took her phone and made a call.
"Leave the undercover guards to me." Kyle also took his phone and made a call.
Bryan sat there and listen to them either talk in some foreign nguage or in what appears to be a normal conversation but it actually had coded words hidden in the mix, Jessica ended the call then gave Bryan the thumbs up gesture while showing him the number it's going to cost him to hire the private contractors every month which is quite costly for people doing nothing other monitoring a bunch of screens.
But Bryan still scanned his phone to pay for their service two months in advance, what followed was Kyle showing him a list of a dozen people who are going to patrol and guard the block 24/7 while communicating with the private contractors monitoring the screens and reying information about everything they hear or see during their patrols.
*Knock* *Knock*
It was moments after that matter was taken care of that the three of them heard a knock on the door before an old man who seems to be in his te fifties maybe early sixties entered the VIP lounge after waiting for a short while to give the people inside the room the chance to fix whatever needs fixing be that pulling pants up or smoothening wrinkled dresses or wearing everything back on.
This Mr. Smith has seen it all in his long years of his designer career... rich people just love to do stupid shit sometimes!
