"Looking good boss," David said while turning his head to look behind once Bryan got in the car, "I fear for the dies when you're in a suit." He smiled and winked before turning back and pressing the push-button on the steering wheel to start the car.

  "I bet Linnet and Celest would be happy to hear about what you just said David." Jessica teased while leaning towards Bryan to buckle his seatbelt for him which is something he keeps forgetting about it yet she still insists on having it on.

  David flinched, "I meant dy Linnet and dy Celest!" He said while driving the car into the next ne and pushing it faster, "Don't you dare go around spreading unfounded rumors behind my back Jessica, I'm warning you... this road goes both ways you know."

  "You're the one pying a dangerous game here David, women rarely lose against us men when it comes to controlling the narrative." Kyle said then shrugged his shoulders while watching the road.

  Jessica smiled triumphantly then squinted her eyes once David looked at her in the rearview mirror.

  Bryan just smiled and said nothing because he quite likes the way these three are getting more comfortable around each other and can have normal conversations.

  "Oh~ Almost forgot there boss," David looked in the mirror while raising his phone, "Unc called me and said that his wyer looked it up and found that the Serene-Haven building is actually owned by a subsidiary company which belong to the International AA Group, after contacting them to ask if there's a possibility for acquisition they stalled for a while before asking for a very infted price." David said and his expression towards the end wasn't good, actually he seemed very angry.

  "How much?" Bryan calmly asked while drumming the armrest with his finger.

  David hesitated for a short while before opening his mouth to say : "Almost triple the market price boss... These bastards dare to cim that the price is fair since the building itself is less than four years old while having a huge plot of nd next to it for private parking space and the advanced facilities of the Apex Athletic Center itself plus the helicopter parked on top."

  Bryan fell silent for short while and scratched his cheek as he gave the matter deep thoughts, "Any idea what that price might be David?"

  "One moment boss," David immediately called his uncle, "Unc. Boss is asking for the numbers, you aware of that?" He asked but his next action was to hand the phone to Bryan directly.

  Kyle and Jessica on the other hand really wanted to hear these specific details to get an estimate on how deep their young employer's pockets are exactly.

  "Mr. Charles. I'm really sorry you had to spend your morning going through all this trouble for me," Bryan said before smiling, "I really owe you a great debt after asking a favor just yesterday.

  "That number really is quite high indeed but I'm in kind of a hurry to relocate my people to a better pce and the location and services of that building are quite fitting at the moment.

  "To be honest it'd take me just two or three more days maximum to buy it at that price so it shouldn't be a trouble for me at all.

  "Hahaha... Yeah I guess I'm doing alright when it comes to pulling the strings of the market.

  "Just have your wyer ask them this, since I'm a serious customer and they're pushing the price to ridiculous heights to take advantage of me then I'm willing to take a step back if they do the same.

  "What I had in mind is buying the building from them today at the afternoon at four-times the market price but in installments with the first payment being the actual market price today and the second payment being the exact same amount of money of the first payment but one year from now and the third two years from now while the final payment being four years from now and they can take it or leave it since I can find an empty plot of nd and build my own damn building with the exact same facilities if not better." Once David, Kyle, and Jessica heard what Bryan just said they gawked from shock because they never seen or heard of someone actually forcing the price upwards when buying anything unless the product itself was being dispyed and advertised in some kind of auction.

  Charles Olivera on the other end of the call gasped after hearing Bryan's bold offer and the terms he included, honestly deep inside he was wondering why this young man would shackle himself by these conditions in the first pce when he just said that he can buy the pce in three days if he choose to wait!

  'Is this fellow crazy? Why is he in such a hurry?' The four couldn't help but have this thought pop in their brains.

  "I'll present them with your new offer but I can't make any promises." Charles said.

  Bryan said : "Of course, I can always bring them to their knees ter in the future so it's not a problem even if they choose to be stubborn now." Then handed the phone back to David who put it aside when he saw his uncle ending the call from his side.

  "So," Jessica finally couldn't stifle her bubbling curiosity and looked towards Bryan, "How much did they ask for?" Both David and Kyle paid close attention once she asked this question.

  "Well," Bryan ruminated the idea while staring through the window on his side before looking at Jessica's face which had this mature beauty before saying : "Market price for that building and everything that comes with it ranges from between one-hundred and fifteen to one-hundred and twenty million, you do the math." Then his smile widened while seeing the expression on his bodyguard's face shift from curiosity to complete shock as her eyes widened and her mouth opened reflexively.

  *Gasp*

  Even Kyle who was expecting big numbers was shocked after hearing it since his employer was willing to pay at least one-hundred and fifteen millions more just to buy something right now which he can buy at one-hundred and fifteen million less if he waited three days maximum!

  David's admiration towards his boss was growing at exponential rate as he thought : 'That move was so badass from you boss! fuck these greedy bastards... my boss would shove money down their throats with his foot if he feels like they're daring enough to overestimate themselves by thinking they can stand between him and the things he want.'

  "T-there's definitely something wrong with your head." Jessica said while shaking her head.

  "I told you this road goes both ways Jessica! Hahaha..." David ughed because now he's holding something against her to bance the odds.

  *Snort*

  Jessica just rolled her eyes while retorting : "Who do you think the "Ladies" would side with after hearing that your boss is throwing all that money away by being impatient instead of waiting seventy-two hours? Moron!"

  "Man! didn't I just say that us men are always in a disadvantage against women because they're great-grandmasters when it comes to controlling the narrative? Just give it a rest before you hurt your pride... Live to fight another battle you know, and be smart when choosing the battleground." Kyle shook his head and gave that advice without taking his eyes from the rood both ahead and behind the car as well as both sides.

  David raised an eyebrow before asking : "You mean like the art of war and stuff like that?"

  Kyle nodded, "Exactly, a good general knows to retreat when confronted with an enemy they know their army can't beat."

  "Yeah... be a turtle." Jessica said then snickered much to David's annoyance.

  "Damn it! Who are you calling a turtle? I'm not afraid of you, this general chooses to fight to the st men and die on the ground of the battlefield without retreating." David was so riled up as if he was injected with chicken blood.

  "Bffft..." Jessica ughed while staring out the window.

  *Sigh*

  "You fell for it once again, I think you better learn about stoicism first before you're ready for the art of war." Kyle said while shaking his head once again but he was smiling inwardly because this job turned out to be quite fun, having a rich, confident, and humble boss who treats his employees well and a good-natured, amusing, and loyal partners is proving to be the best combination so far.

  David huffed for a while before asking Kyle while warily taking a look in the mirror to check on Jessica : "How do I do that?"

  "Start by learning to keep your mouth shut." Jessica gave the answer which caused David to grind his teeth after seeing the wide smile on her face which annoyed him quite a lot because he really wanted to retort but now he started to understand that the reason she's giving it to his was just an invitation for another verbal trap she must've prepared.

  Kyle smiled in amusement after seeing David getting toyed around with by his partner and thought : 'I bet this poor fellow thinks Jessica only has one trap waiting for him but I know for a fact that she must've prepared at least a dozen! I heard that her training in counter-espionage was quite advanced so pying these mental games with a simple-minded civilian like David is such an effortless thing to do.'

  *Humph*

  Finally David shook the annoyance off while parking the car in front of a building which had all the windows of the first three floors full of mannequin's dispying a wide variety of suits, "We're here boss," David said while getting off the car then handed Jessica a purple card which he intentionally pressed hard on her palm, "Look for Mr. Smith while showing the receptionist this card, this isn't between us so... I trust you'd make the boss look perfect tonight since it's quite the important day for him and the dies."

  Jessica raised an eyebrow while looking at David's pure eyes and thought : 'So he's swallowing his grievances and asking the enemy for help to save his lord at the cost of his pride huh! This David is loyal like a puppy to his owner... so cute.'

  David was feeling quite intimidated once he saw Jessica's eyes shine with a mysterious glow, he felt like a prey being stared at by a predator it can't escape from.

  "Got it." Finally Jessica said that while turning but for some reason she didn't feel angry once she felt David's eyes staring directly on her butt, she just smiled and straightened her spine which caused the jacket of her suit to vacate space for him to see more of her behind.
