Artificis sat in his seat, pondering, rapping his fingers on the velvet armrest. Suddenly, the doors crashed open and he looked up at the intruder. One of his henchmen stood there, fear in his eyes. “Speak.” Artificis told him, not seeming to mind the sudden intrusion.
“We have MI5 agents on our way to us. We have to prepare our defences.”
Artificis chuckled, almost seeming gladdened by the incoming threat. “So they finally decided to make their move. Well then, we have to prepare for war.”
The henchmen ran about all over the place, arming weapons and preparing their defences. Some moments went by when suddenly, there was a crash and the double doors fell to the floor as the agents knocked them down. Bullets flew as they were quickly killed. Agents fired at henchmen and vice versa. Ellis joined in the fight, her sword drawn. She swung the gleaming blade, suddenly taking a leg. The agent dropped to the ground, screaming in agony, and Ellis took care of him, plunging her sword down into his throat. He gurgled and then stopped. The agents quickly converged onto Ellis, weapons raised, but she quickly took care of them. The cold steel rang out, slicing through their chests and necks, opening up their flesh. Within moments, bodies were piled around her. Frank fired his pistol, killing anyone that aimed at him. An agent went to fire at him, but was too slow, and the assassin killed him. Reaching into his suit, Frank took out some daggers and threw them at anyone too close to him. There was no reason in needlessly wasting a bullet. An agent aimed his gun at Ellis and went to pull the trigger. She could only turn and face him, too late to react. Suddenly, the agent dropped to the ground as a bullet passed through his skull. Frank nodded to Ellis and she returned the gesture. Two agents pursued after a couple of targets and then turned a corner, dashing into a room. They aimed at their non-existent enemies. They both looked at each other and then aimed their guns in front of themselves, slowly advanced forward to the door on the other side. Suddenly, four vents on either side of them opened up. A thick, grey cloud proceeded to pour in like soup, choking them both, quickly filling the room. They covered their mouths with their arms, coughing, hacking, their eyes stinging. They banged at the door, but it was of no use and they dropped to the floor, succumbing to the poisonous fumes. The agents that continued to fight decided to take the better option and fled the battle. Ellis swept her hand forward, issuing a silent order, and the henchmen ran for their enemies, killing any of them within range of their guns and daggers. Seconds went by and there was silence once more.
