We've reached our first city in the fairy territory. It's in the middle of a rge forest, each house built on a tree. I can see people flying around from house to house. This pce is kind of awesome! Marty takes us a stair case, it's wrapped around one of the trees. At the top a rge man waits for us. He has wings like a fairy but ears like a cat. It seems everybody around here is the same way. When you think of a fairy it's usually small and doesn't have animal features.
"I thought fairies are smaller." I whisper to Marty.
"You're thinking of northern fairies, these are beast fairies." Marty expins, "A couple of fairies liked the way beast men look, so they mated."
Marty shrugs his shoulders. We follow the fairy man to a small building. There's a man sitting on a throne made from sticks. He stares at us while. Marty gets down onto his knees, me and Pyra follow. The man on the throne stands up.
"Marty! It's nice to see you old friend!" The man on the throne excims.
"Hairy! I've been wanting to visit for quite a while." Marty says.
Hairy huh? I wonder how Marty and him met.
"My name isn't Hairy anymore. My people call me king Yerrie." He tells Marty.
"So your father still gave you the throne, even after you left?" Marty asks.
"Well, my brother died. And my father didn't want to give the throne to my sister!" He ughs.
Marty knows the king of this pce? I thought the king of Erin ruled the whole continent. Marty stands up and gives the king a long hug.
"What brings you and your friends here?" He asks.
"There's a threat attacking an elven vilge. I want to ask for your help." Marty expins.
The king scratches his chin.
"So you'd like for my people to help kill your enemy?" He asks.
"Well, we've decided to capture it." Marty tells him.
We had a conversation earlier. I convinced Marty and Pyra to capture it instead of killing it.
"That depends on what it is your fighting." King Yerrie walks over to a small book shelf, "Is it a monster? Maybe a holy knight?"
"It's a colossal!" Marty says.
The king looks up. He scratches his head, and pulls a small book off of the shelf. He stays silent for a minute. His gnce moving from the book to Marty. He walks back to his throne and sits down
"I don't think I can help you with this one Marty." He says, "You can stay here for a few days. That's all I'll do."
"I understand. I would say the same thing in your position." Marty sighs.
The man who took us here walks back into the house. The king nods and he walks back out. We follow him out of the house. I can hear a lot of fpping wings. They sound kind of like flies. The man takes us to a small hut in the middle of the city. It has three beds set up for us.
"How do you know the king?" I ask.
"We were in a party together! We explored the holy nds before I joined the revolution." Marty tells me.
I didn't know Marty was an adventurer! I still don't understand what he's the king of here, is it fairies or just the beast fairies?
"Well, I'm going to go see some old friends!" Marty tells us while walking out of the room.
Maybe I should go explore the vilge. Pyra is just sitting on her bed, not really talking. Maybe we could do something together?
"You want to, explore the city together?" I ask her.
"Maybe... What would we do?" She asks.
"I don't know, just look around." I say.
She sits for a second. She grabs her staff. Maybe she does want to come? Her open hand scratches the side of her head.
"No thanks, maybe tomorrow!" She tells me.
"Alright, see you ter than!" I say.
Damn, that was kind of awkward. I get out of the hut. The paths here are just wooden bridges. I look over a small fence that stops me from falling off. We're probably a hundred feet off the ground. The vilge is shaped in a circle. In the middle of the circle is a young girls holding a spear. A rger man is sparing with her. They're floating just off the ptform.
"Are you one of Marty's friends?" A woman's voice says from behind me.
I turn around. The woman is quite pretty. She has small wings and animal ears.
"Yeah, who would you be?" I ask.
"I'm queen Yerrie!" She says with a smile on her face.
"Oh, nice to meet you." I say.
She reaches out her hand. I shake it and she leans against the rail with me. She's looking over at the young girls sparing.
"I wish I could fly..." She says.
"You can't fly?" I ask.
She chuckle a little bit.
"No, I got injured when I was a child. I'm not a very good fairy." She ughs at this.
There's a sadness in her voice. She's staring at the girl with intensity.
"Do you know her?" I ask.
"She's my daughter!" She says.
Pyra walks out of the hut. She looks at me and the queen. She stares for a second before looking down, as to avoid eye contact. Her grip on her staff is strong. I thought she didn't want to explore. Maybe she just doesn't want to do it with me...
"That young girls seems quite strange." Queen Yerrie jokes.
"Yeah, I don't really get it." I chuckle.
"It seems she may be hiding something." She says, "Maybe some, strong feelings."
Queen Yerrie just walks off after that. I don't get why people just walk away mid conversation like that. And what does she mean by "Strong feelings?" Maybe I should just walk around a little. I walk over to a rge building. There's a lot of people inside, maybe it's a bar or something. It's loud inside. There's a rge party going on. People are grouping around, possibly looking at something. I move through the crowd, Marty is sitting a bar, chugging beers with another man. Every time one of them finish a beer, half of the people cheer. I maneuver through out of the crowd. It smells terrible in there. It's probably just because there's a bunch of drunk people. I'm about to walk out of the building when I see Pyra. She's sitting alone in a corner.
Why is she sitting alone? Maybe I should walk over. She spots me staring at her. She pulls her hat down a little. Okay, maybe I shouldn't walk over! I get out of the building. The queens daughter isn't training anymore. I don't know why I notice her so much. There's not much to do here, especially since Marty is out drinking, so I don't have anyone to do things with. We probably shouldn't stay very long, the colossal may already be on nd. If we don't move quickly, the king may send his own soldiers.
I walk back into the hut. I y on my bed. The room is silent. Outside almost always sounds like fpping wings. Pyra gets back before Marty. She sits on her bed, neither of us talk. She walks over to me.
"What's your type?" She asks.
What? The question really catches me off guard.
"I don't know... I don't really have one." I say.
She crosses her arms. Her eyes serious.
"Fine!" She says.
She walks back over to her bed and plops down. What the hell was that? Why is she asking me these kind of things!
