  "Dave stop......, just go on without me pal......, t'was good having ya as a partner..., I'm tired of running......I dont wanna run anymore"he cried sitting on the abandoned car closeby, his right leg was no more and his left leg was injured, he could tell it was getting troublesome carrying him around and the kid he had just saved still had a life ahead of him while he had had his time with the undestroyed earth and was satisfied with the life he lived

  "I got no regrets" he smiled "thank you for everything"

  "Shut the hell up Dal .......we can make it, the tunnel is just up ahead......., we can make it, stand up so we can run Dal please" the young lad pleaded but the old guy only watched him with a smile

  "Those behind us are crawlers boy......., the both of us can't escape at the pace...at least let me buy you some time to escape, I've had a life, you've barely started yours......., just do this old guy one last favor and promise to stay alive please"Dal smiled taking out his pistol while he stared at the boy he had once saved who turned out to be a great man now...

  "I never regretted saving you...,never will son, now go, just go already!!!"he yelled forcing the boy to leave him behind the old guy brought out a cigar taking smoke until he could feel some infected approaching, he could tell his death was closer to him no, not that he had anything to complain about.

  "Fuck this...., why now?"Zack huffed carrying Chloe who was still unconscious, the steps were getting closer by the minute and time was now against them, this was a race of time now and they definitely had none. Zack could no longer hold some tear from escaping his eyes but all hope weren't lost yet, back at the entrance he saw a line on the roof, not just any line but a pulleyline, a type of transportation, one he was familiar with, and up ahead was a cart tied up to the same line he had seen back at the entrance. Zack filled with hope rushed for the cart, but he soon found the situation quite difficult as he got there, the cart was small, it could only contain one person at a time, one person had to stay behind to start up the pulley manually.

  "Damn...., damn.......damn...."Zack huffed, placing Chloe into the cart and running to the other end of the tunnels wall where the pulley turn on switch was  he pulled it.

  "At least you're safe...that's all that matters"Zack muttered checking how many bullets he had left in the pistol he held. "Just six huh?...., quite convenient"Zack sarcastically said stareing at the tunnels roof.

  "When did I become this weak?"he thought turning around and quickly running for the exit. The crawlers were now visible and their growling louder than how it was a while ago, was this how he died?....., was this where his journey had left him?, since when did it come to this? All these went through Zacks head as he ran for his life. It was all meaningless now, the crawlers were right behind him and if he just kept running he'd still die anyways

  "So why not die with a bang!!!"Zack yelled turning around he shot a hole through a crawlers head, then another, "four to go!!"Zack laughed, h was about to die but for some reason it didn't matter. If he was to die, it was by his terms and no one else

  "Just die already!!"zacked yelled this time louder than the last as he rushed in approaching the crawlers "four........three..... two" he counted killing three more infected while still having one more bullet left "guess this will be my last"he said , his voice as low as a whisper. He aimed the gun at himself placing it underneath his jaw while watching the crawlers slowly approach him "on my own terms"he muttered about to pull the trigger but voice stopped him from doing so.

  "Chloe?.......what the hell is she doing here?"Zack asked turning around to find Chloe walking towards him, she seemed different, there was something different about her, but he didn't know what

  "I finally understand it......, it was so right infront of me....but I just couldn't see it"Chloe said walking past Zack, "I had shut this part of me out, I had forgotten all of it"Chloe said again raising her arm and pointing a finger at the crawlers approaching.

  "Stop"she ordered.

  With her voice came a great silence, one that sent chills down Zacks spine. The crawlers had stopped advancing and had stopped moving, from Zacks point of view they seemed to have frozen up, what the hell was going on, Zack stared confused.

  "It actually worked....., I can control them....just like from my memories"she said again turning around to stare at Zack.

  "I...I can control them, just like I did in my dream..., no more like a memory of mine, I've done this before"she smiled but Zack was still confused, how could she control them....., why didn't she tell him, what was going on?, the last he saw her she was unconscious, had she figured out something while asleep?, he had to know, he wanted to know?

  "You can...control them...., how?...., what's going on?"Zack asked, Chloe knew this was going to happen as soon as he saw her control the infected,

  "How....how can you?.....when could you?"Zack asked

  "Since just now, theoretical since I can remember but technically since now....., how do I put it....., I figured it out Zack...I did"Chloe tried explaining, she was amazed at what she had done and at the same time found it hard to believe she had done this

  "Figured what out Chloe?"Zack asked, he was still unsure as to what she was saying

  "When I woke up on that cart I remembered......I finally got back the memories I had lost, Zack....although hazzy, I can recollect a little of it....., I remembered just there that back at the lab where I grew in" she paused for a second then continued "where I was experimented on, I could control them, the head scientist on that lab wanted my brain taken out for further study so I had to escape, with the help of a nurse I did escape but during a chase to find and retrieve me I fell into a river, bet that was when I lost some part of me....next thing I remember was being saved by him"Chloe explained

  "The guy back at the city?"Zack asked noticing she couldn't say his name and was being careful do she wouldn't upset him

  "Yh, him......, Dave saved me Zack...I owe him everything, look, I know I look more like a monster now but I'm still same old Chloe Zack....."Chloe tried explaining but Zack gave her a tight hug

  "Who the hell cares about that Chloe....., guess I owe you everything too right?"Zack joked letting her go "c'mon let's get out of here...stareing at them kinda gives me the creeps"he laughed walking ahead of Chloe and heading for the exit.

  Su was already getting restless when she saw Zack and Chloe come out through the other exit, she felt relieved then giving Zack a hug.

  "Please don't scare me like that again, I almost went back in there search for you two"she said getting off Zack "you two look brighter, got settled huh?"she said stareing at Chloe's face, she no longer had a long face on but a brighter expression.

  "i think you two should come take a look at this" Zack said slowly, the view in front of him was bewildering,

  "I've never seen anywhere so beautiful before?"Chloe muttered stareing also at the view in front of her

  "You think that place could be infected?"su asked

  "No.....no I don't think so"zack responded stareing at the paradise smoke spoke of, there was a city in front just some miles after the outskirts of the fallen, the city didn't look destroyed, and was entirely cover by a nano shield while from above nothing could get in even if they tried, the nano shield was visible from a distance Zack and his team could see it.

  "Let's go check it out should we?"Chloe proposed
