170. 14 (Book Three)

There were a couple of Chiefs in the area or rushing to the area before Rick even called for them, due to them detecting the aura of a Tier Seven beast.

But once they heard the shout of their King, all of them moved with a speed they didn’t know was possible themselves.

Then there were the others who didn’t hear his shout.

Like Chief Kog, who dwelled on the opposite side of the fronts. Not even Rick could shout that loud that his voice would reach the entrance to the Dark Lands of Mir.

Despite that… Chief Kog felt something. He was unsure of what it was that he was feeling, but he couldn’t ignore the pull he felt in his soul.

As if something was calling him.

  Urgently.

He, along with a few others who felt the pull, all decided to trust it and make their way towards the direction they were feeling it was leading them.

At first, their paces weren’t the fastest, as they were all still unsure of it all, but the closer they got to the front, the faster their speed became as their powerful senses eventually began to pick up traces of the massive battle taking place.

Meanwhile, back at the front, big things were happening…

  [It’s coming up!]

  ‘I can see that!’

The beast in question finally fully exited the ground, and its body came into full view.

‘It’s a damn mole! A Tier Seven mole!’

The mole in question firmly planted its large body on the ground and roared so loudly that the ground around the area for miles shook.

  “ROOOOOOOAAARRRR!!!!!”

It wasn’t a roar to showcase its dominance or to alert the world to its presence. There was nothing but immense pain and unbridled fury mixed into its roar.

While Rick’s full-powered attack was nowhere near enough to kill it, the power behind it was nothing to scoff at.

The front claws and the limbs they were attached to were mangled beyond simple healing. And its head? There was a small chunk of it missing—though it appeared to be only flesh.

Either way, the creature was in immense pain.

[If you manage to hit it a few more times with an attack at that level, you’ll be able to finish it off on your own.]

‘I don’t doubt that… but Ruknar won’t last forever, and I’ll be weakened for a few minutes afterward. And that’s without considering the fact it’s going to be fighting back instead of being immobile this time.’

[Then it’s a good thing you called for help.]

  “MY KING!!!”

Chief Rogur had shown up to the battle with a massive sword already held at the ready in his bulky hands.

He didn’t wait for a single moment and dashed in front of his King. A ferocious spray of flames immediately coated the entire sword as he quickly riled his mana up.

Rogur was never one to show hesitance in the face of the enemy. He would always be at 100% intensity, no matter who or what he faced.

But today would be a day where Chief Rogur wouldn’t be unmatched in his intensity.

“I HAVE HEARD YOUR CALL, MY KING!”

Chief Grul of the Shadow Clan quickly joined the space next to Chief Rogur.

Immediately, the area around Chief Grul seemed to dim a few shades darker. Something that shouldn’t be possible in the Dark Lands of Mir. But the Chief wielded Dark Mana.

A very rare and reclusive mana affinity.

Not every single Goblin in the Shadow Clan wielded Dark Mana, but every single Goblin in the Dark Lands of Mir who had that affinity could be found within the Shadow Clan.

One by one, Chiefs and Chiefesses from 14 Clans quickly showed in support of their King.

And by now, five of them had made it there.

The mole wasn’t going to sit there and wait for the cavalry to gather in force, and the only reason it hadn’t attacked yet was due to the fact it was still trying to cope with the pain.

But that time had come and gone.

  “ROOOOOOOAAARRRR!!!!!”

Ignoring the pain in its front limbs, the mole took off in a large run towards the Goblins, before jumping up and immediately diving into the ground like a fish out of water.

“IT CAN COME UP FROM ANYWHERE!!!”

Rick roared out to the rest of the group.

And that’s exactly what the mole did.

Behind the line the Goblins formed in front of their King.

  It was aiming for Rick.

“OH, IT’S ME YOU WANT, YOU FUCKING RAT? COME GET SOME!”

Rick didn’t even bother dodging and just raised his spear as high above his head as he could.

  “KHAAL’DREZ!!!!!!!!”

  BOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!

Another destruction-packed attack shook the entire area as the King of Goblins showcased his power for the world to bear witness.

But once again, the attack wasn’t enough to kill the mole—and this time, it was prepared for it.

A thick shield of rock took the brunt of the power generated by the skill, and Rick was forced to retreat out of the way as the mole burst out in an effort to crush Rick within its mouth.

‘Dammit, the skill is wearing off!’

“That ability took a lot out of me! I’ll be weakened for a while!”

Rick quickly announced to his Chiefs as they were already converging on the body of the mole with a deadly combination of force and precision.

Five city-leveling attacks of all different shapes and sizes crashed into the massive body of the mole with all the intention in the world to kill it right then and there.

Once again, that wasn’t enough to kill the Tier Seven mole.

It had been damaged, but it wasn’t Tier Seven for no reason.

Though… plenty of time had passed for more players to join the show.

Nine other bodies quickly made themselves known on the battlefield.

One Tier Six Goblin would be no match for the mole.

Five of them would give it a small challenge.

Fourteen battle-hardened Tier Six Goblins against a mole that was already injured in multiple places?

Even worse, these Tier Six Goblins were fighting in front of their King? THEIR KING?!

Chief Rogur’s voice bellowed across the battlefield:

“YOU VILE CREATURE!! HOW DARE YOU TRY TO CAUSE HARM TO MY KING!!! HOW DARE YOU?!?!?!?!”

His flames rose as his anger rose to heights they hadn’t seen in years.

  And it wasn’t just him.

Fourteen Tier Six Goblins immediately got ready to unleash the most powerful attack they had in their arsenal.

It was a bad day to be a mole.
