Four hundred years after the last dragon sovereign was sealed away by his brother’s sacrifice, Siegyrd sequesters himself in his mystic mountaintop abode only rarely leaving to hunt or trade in his human form. The memory of dragons has largely faded from the world, sustained by powerful artifacts and the stories passed down through generations. Yet, when Siegyrd witnesses a village raid near his lair, he intervenes. What he earns for his troubles is a willful adoptive daughter to protect and prepare to enter the world he all but abandoned.
