“I see, your silence speaks loudly. The three of us will be doing an inspection of the room, until we are done, I want all of you to stay put in the same spot.”

  Without much of a choice really, they agreed to her demands. Right after this, the three of them walk around the room, closely inspecting everything in there. Luckily for them, nothing seems to be damaged, for now that is, just like Taniah said, it’s beyond dirty and while it can be a “hazard” for their health as inhaling dust particles is not good at all, it’s not enough for Taniah to say anything.

  Alice- Kiana, did you find anything? I did notice that a few places are dirtier than others, I would reckon these are the areas that they most experiment on but, in terms of damage, nothing to appoint on. I can sense a little magic here and there but once again, excluding the magic circle, I have no clue where they are from.

  Kiana- Hmm, you are talking about the magic residues, right? In case of damage, I also found nothing but, I can easily sense said residues in fact, they are rather recent. I would say that they were doing experiments before we came here.

  Alice- Is that something that you can also sense? Is there any difference between a spell that was activated a few minutes ago to one that was activated in this moment? Putting the difference in magic quantities to the side, since the first spell will have its magic “consumed” by the environment, is there any physical difference between them? But, hold that thought, I will ask them if they did experiments recently.

  With a simple nod, Kiana agrees to what Alice did, right after this, she walks up to the students and asks them. To no one's surprise, they said that they didn’t do any experiments all day, the last ones were done at around 19 pm in the previous day. With her “answer” in mind, she walks up back to Kiana who waits for her quite excitedly for some reason.

  “So, what did they say?”

  Alice- What we were already expecting, they have denied doing anything, they also told me that their last experiments were done yesterday at 19 pm. Is that recent to you? If not, they are lying to us or someone is using this space behind their backs. Either way, care to explain how did you figured this out?

  She gently brings her right hand towards her right cheek, once close enough, she touches, or in this case, she taps twice right below her right golden eye with her slightly crooked but extremely tender and pale index finger. To make this even more “cute”, not only does she lean forward a little bit, she also has quite the mischievous look on her face. There is a reason for this and while Alice is a little confused but also taken back by Kiana's sudden reaction, I know very well what she’s indirectly saying.

  “I’ve used these to see that, or in this case, I have used the skill Magical Eyes to see it.”

  Something quite simple (not really) and yet, something extremely useful. While Magic Sense allows you to sense magic around you, Magical Eyes lets you physically see magic and by using this skill on this scenario, Kiana can easily see the magic residues that are present inside of the room and from there, she can easily tell how “old” they are.

  Alice- I don’t know why I am so surprised… Magical Eyes you say… I think I have heard about it, however, I’m not so sure about it, would you mind telling me what it does? Or in this case, what allows you to see.

  Kiana- Of course! What you’ve heard is probably legit Magical Eyes rather than the skill itself. There is a massive difference between them as Magical Eyes themselves allow you to use magic from them and they have some special abilities attached to them. The skill however, simply allows your eyes to see magic rather than sensing it and, in this case, you can even see the element present on said magic. And yes, it’s possible to get this skill but it's much, much harder than Magic Sense and Elemental Sense. This one is like an ultimate version of both although, they probably should be named differently from the legit one…

  “(An ultimate skill she says... You make it seem that it’s something easily to acquire and yet, your words couldn’t be so much different. You really are a box full of surprises but now, I wonder just how much you really know.)”

  Alice- Well, if it is an ultimate version of Magic Sense and Elemental Sense then, it’s better if I mastered them first before even thinking about moving the ladder while one of them, I still have to acquire. I do have more questions, what else can you see with them? You just said that, you can see the element present on the magic, does that mean that, the magic residues that I’m sensing, do they have colour to them?

  Kiana- They do have colour but it’s one that resembles neutral magic or in other words, the same colour as the magic circle for a barrier has. However, since there only are residues “floating” around, there is not much that I can say and the reason I can tell that they are recent is because, unless they were doing something colossal in terms of magic usage, the residues from an A rank spell will fully disappear in 6 hours. And by looking at them, none of them could even achieve B- rank.

  Alice- Then that means that it was more recent than 6 hours or since there is such a difference between A rank and even a B+ rank, the time itself will be much more recent, maybe they were doing something during lunch time? However, now I’m left wondering, how does it even work? Your skill that is. Let’s say that, if I create a small Fireball right now, what do you actually see?

  Kiana- Oh! That’s actually a good example! Well, I see the Fireball like any of us do, the only change is that I can see the creation of it. Before the Fireball is created, I can see the magic coming out of your body, hand in this case, into a single point, forming a magic circle in the process. Then, this magic circle starts to work, moving the magic on it and transforming it into a shape of Fireball, adding the correct element to it and mixing it with the magic, making it gain said colour and tada! A small Fireball has been created! It’s actually quite fascinating to see.

  Alice- Ah, so it allows you to see everything right from the beginning. I think I can imagine some uses for this skill, especially in battle. I think it might be quite useful in that scenario as you would be able to see if your opponent is about to use a magic spell, allowing you to be ready for it, either to block, defend, dodge or straight up rush your opponent. I actually have never thought about it but, how do you even know what element to mix when you are trying to use a magic spell?

  Kiana- It’s something that happens naturally, the same way as you do with breathing. The only difference is that, rather than the heart asking for air to function, the magic circle themselves will ask you for their required element and your own magic will give them. In case that such an element you have no affinity to whatsoever, the magic circle will fail.

  Alice- No affinity at all? Does that mean, even if I have very little affinity to Hydro, I can in theory use Hydro spells? Is that correct or am I overthinking it once again? The natural part is easy to understand as the magic circles have inscriptions on them, I wouldn’t doubt that, such inscriptions are the ones asking your “magic” as you said, to provide it with the element it wants.

  Kiana- Yes, it’s possible however, the less affinity you have, the lower tier spells you can only use. Anything grand is a big no no but, something simple as an F rank spell, I more than believe it will be possible. However, there are ways to circle this around as you can use the surroundings elements for example. Although, just like the Magical Eyes skill, it’s not easy at all to do as not only do you have to have the Magic Control skill, you also need the Elemental Control skill to be able to do something like this. I will give you an example as it’s even more complicated than this, let’s say that, you have both skills and you are in the middle of the ocean, I think you can guess that, the most prominent element present there is Hydro, because of it, you can easily use Hydro spells and with extreme control of those skills, you can even use “grand” spells or in other words, A rank spells and above.

  Alice- Somehow, I believe you could achieve something like that but, normal people? I don’t think so. If I wanted to use a Pyro in that situation it would be impossible since there is no such element in an ocean. This is so interesting, where do you even learn all of this? Was your teacher who taught you all of this?

  “I’ve learned a lot from her and there is a good chance that I wouldn’t have figured it out by myself. All of these tiny details, the logic behind, while I did the most work to get there per say, she was the one that told me all the small but important details.”

  Here it is, the distant look on her face and the reminiscent look on her beautiful golden eyes. Every time this individual is referred to, she always does this, she always goes to this mode. It’s something quick though, it only lasts a second or so but, to someone as observant as myself and Alice, we can easily notice and we end up feeling the sadness behind it. But, what can we really do about it? Alice didn’t mean it, this more than obvious but what can she do about it? Change topics? She’s mere moments from doing that and yet, the vivid image of seeing Kiana like this won’t change at all…

  Alice- I-uh, just one last question before we leave, it seems Taniah is about to be finished. Is there really no way that you can see or even sense the type of magic that was used recently? From the amount you can somewhat tell the rank of said magic while at the same time, you can somewhat guess the time it was used…

  Kiana- I see what you’re getting at but, unfortunately, it’s impossible for me to do so. If it was done mere moments ago, yes, I could do it but, since this much time has gone by, I can’t. However, are you trying to figure out if they were doing summoning magic? You think if we are able to figure this out or not, we will have a “target” in sight?

  Alice- That is correct after all, there is a good possibility that those stones were infused with the summoning magic, right where we stand. This is the only place that I can imagine that they can do whenever they want and of course, without raising a single drop of suspicious to them. In a way, it can somewhat explain why last year's results were not good. You can’t have good results if you are too busy doing that.

  “You’re going on the right track Alice but, we will talk about that later, we are done here.”

  Without making too much noise, Taniah quickly and swiftly tells them that it’s time to go as she is done verifying the room. The three of them walk up to the students, they exchange a few words, mainly a report from Taniah, one that tells them that luck is indeed on their side as she found nothing at all, except the dirtiness of this place. Seriously, since both Alice and Kiana were to occupied on conversing, Taniah on the other hand, she did her diligence, acting as the President of the Student Council, in other words, she did her damn job, carefully inspecting every single wall, every pillar, corner and so on, from this, it’s why she hammered on them that cleaning and having a clean workplace is so important. Not that it will make any difference after all, since the student council sends a warning that they will be doing an inspection, they just need to clean this place when it happens. Enough jabbering from yours truly, after this, they bid their goodbyes, leaving the room shortly and walking up to the student council room.
