(Pov Bellriver)
[Frostbolt]
[Bestow Curse: Blindness]
[Thundernce]
[Magic Arrow]
[Ice Ball]
[Frostnce]
These were a few spells that the Pyer could make out amongst the onsught of attacks that hit him.
Why was he not panicking?
The [Flesh Abomination] was sure that most of these priests were too weak to do much against them. - He loved it when he was right.
Most of the spells would be absorbed by his [Greater Nullification] skill, rendering him immune to all damage from sources under level 30, and the spells that were high enough level to bypass his skill did such a minimal amount of damage that they could be ignored.
As the onsught subsided, the [Flesh Abomination] decided to give diplomacy another go, "You got all the aggression out of your system? Are you all ready to talk now? I would propose that we never saw each other and go on our separate ways - peacefully."
The only person who wasn't stupefied that Bellriver survived a few dozen spells was the leader of these men from the "Clearwater Scripture," who merely frowned, "I am not surprised that you survived that; after all, you must be a powerful demon. I shall fight you myself."
'Why did he sound like an NPC from YGGDRASIL?! That was such a cheesy line!' It went through Bellriver's mind as he stifled a chuckle, reminiscing about doing those cheesy starter quests when he first pyed the game.
As the man stepped out from his escorts, the rest of his men began to cheer.
"You should've stayed in the Hell demon!'
"May Shurshana have mercy on your soul."
"This will be quick."
Bellriver readied himself for the worst; the leader was the only one he couldn't read.
The man stood before him and began with [Summon Angel—3rd] before giving another shit-eating grin as four angels materialized beside him. The priests behind him cheered even louder as their leader cast multiple buffs on him, and his summons, [Holy Aura] and [Angelic Strength], were spells he didn't recognize.
Fortunately, he did recognize the summoned angels; they were the [Archangel Fmes] from YGGDRASIL, low-tier ads. Their threat level should be low, but those two buffs made him uneasy.
The [Flesh Abomination] wasn't exactly impressed with the man's dispy of power, but this gave good information.
Bellriver smiled as he formuted the perfect pn to win this battle quickly.
"Well . . . let's finish this. "
"Now, I'll send you to - ack" were the words the man could articute before a 400-hundred-pound mass of flesh blew through him, splitting him into multiple chunks of meat.
"Well damn," came a voice from where the man once stood. Bellriver was surprised that his opponent was now a thick paste; he had once again underestimated how strong his new body was.
Bellriver had not expected it to be easy to kill the man, whatever his name—not that it mattered anymore. The Pyer expected the leader to survive a light tap to the neck, but the force of his stopping in front of the man caused the priest to pop like a balloon.
He had meant to knock out the man so he could "extract" information from him, given how he needed to put together a long-term pn to make the most out of this new life he was given. But now he had to pivot to a pn B, which involved interrogating the warrior priests.
Concluding his thought session, he turned just in time to see the summoned angels fade into motes of light.
"So this world does use YGGDRASIL logic, or at least summoning is," he muttered. This new information was considerable, especially if he encountered more summoner-type enemies.
The man seemed to be a [Holy Summoner], a priest who called upon angels to fight for them while giving their summons and teammates powerful buffs as support. Unfortunately for him, [Holy Summoners] also had many gring weaknesses: they were squishy, had few ways of dealing damage outside their summons, and heavily relied upon others to protect them.
And those were the issues for some of the best pyers of YGGDRASIL!
He turned and began to assess the situation with the remaining warrior priests. Most of them had been standing there since he killed their commander, shocked at how easily the [Flesh Abomination] had dispatched the summoner.
It was only a few moments after he had turned around before a [Firebolt] connected with his face. He looked over to where the spell had come from and saw a maskless warrior priest.
'Looks human, male, young with a soft face; perhaps the second in command?' were the Pyer's thoughts before the priest, who he had given the nickname "Gary" moments before, interrupted him.
"M-men, we must stand fast! For we are some of the Theocracy's elite! We must send this demon back to the Hells from whence he came lest we release another great threat to humanity. I know that it may seem impossible, but we must fight. We will fight to the end to secure humanity's future!" Gary started with a shakey voice, but as he gave his speech, it steadied, making it epic.
This priest's rousing speech amused Bellriver, who observed "Gary" and the other warrior priests. He had hoped that they would realize that the disparity of power between them and him was too significant for cliches to defeat, but it seemed that the speech had convinced them otherwise.
Bellriver picked out two targets that were to survive and sprung into action before any of them could react. Rushing the one closest to him, which was about 5 meters away, he grabbed him by his leg and flung him at one of the priests who was standing on the roof of the shack. Tanking a spell from his left, he pivoted to dodge another and shot multiple daggers made of bone at the three men in front of him.
He had forgotten that [Flesh Abominations] were so powerful due to their racial abilities; [Bone Morph] was one of these abilities, allowing the user to create weapons made of bone to use, although their usefulness fell off when facing anything above level 70 unless the build revolved around this power.
Moving back to the fight, Bellriver had dealt with all the men to his left and was being bombarded with spells from the remaining warrior priests from his right. The Pyer was about 30 meters from the closest warrior.
However, before he could make a move, Bell caught sight of a hulking metallic object smming into the ground between him and the priests, throwing dust and bits of dirt all over the pce.
Bellriver heard a voice from the impact site, "Never Fear."
It sent a shudder down the Pyer's spine; the voice sounded like a generic padin from YGGDRASIL, but he could tell that malice was behind it.
Now, he could tell that it was a giant knight in shining bck and gold armor had fallen from the sky.
It lifted its head and looked directly at Bellriver, "For Mommon is here!"
