Voma's life couldn't be considered smooth, even at such a young age, the boy himself had already experienced many difficult storms that can even make an old sailor step back.
However, he could swear that from the time he was born until now, he had never encountered a day as strange and unusual as today.
Early in the morning, he had just woken up and already seen a huge crack in the sky, then he had just closed his eyes and opened them again just to find himself in the middle of a forest that he had never seen before.
Now, in front of Voma appeared something that he swore he had only ever seen in a horror movie.
An egg... or rather, a ball of flesh compressed into the shape of an egg from the flesh and blood of some unknown species... creating an extremely disgusting product, causing anyone to feel nauseous once they saw it.
The lower part of the egg is also covered with things that looked like spider webs that were clinging to the ground below it, fixing the egg in an upright position.
Voma frowned as he looked at the scene here and casually threw away the wooden stake in his hand. He noticed that not only the egg infront of him is unusual, but there are also some strange red drawing on the ground below it.
"It looks like some kind of... Magical Formation."
The young man observed carefully for a while and discovered that the drawing is very large, so large that Voma didn't even notice that he had entered its range since when.
Above all, this drawing isn't simply a child's scribble, on the contrary, they actually seemed to be drawn according to some kind of rule, extremely magical as if coming out of a fantasy story.
Around these nine circles were drawn many words that Voma did not recognize, it seemed to be some kind of language, moreover, it is not just one but two different languages.
These two languages, one was written around the second circle counting from the outside in, the other was written inside the third circle counting from the inside out.
"The drawing has many overlapping circles representing the abyss, the outermost circle has many eyes rotating around it representing the act of looking into the abyss... the second circle is many pairs of hands spread out representing begging and sacrifice, the third circle is twisted together with the fourth circle forming spikes or rather tentacles rotating together pointing straight into the abyss... is the creator of this sacrificing and praying for something?"
Looking at the scene before him, Voma began to rely on his own speculations to decipher the meaning of the Magical Formation that was lying before him.
According to what he had mentioned so far, the thing in front of him was clearly some kind of prayer ritual.
"No, this is not a Ritual of Invocation but a Ritual of Creation intertwined with the Ritual of Invocation to create a double effect, its essence is to create something! There are two circles overlapping the remaining circles, one overlapping the three innermost circles, while the other overlapping the bottom of the three outermost circles, and the upper circle is exactly where the meat egg is standing! That meat egg is the finished product that the creator of this ritual wants to create!"
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
Thinking of this, Voma burst out laughing, then he looked towards the circle overlapping the bottom of the two outermost circles.
Unlike the circle where the egg is standing, this circle are not simply a hollow shape, it much more special.
Inside the circle was a six-pointed star with six candles placed at the six corners, at the edge of the circle grew countless triangles with the upper corners pointing towards the center, Voma speculated that this must be where the creator of this Magical Formation placed the offering, or rather, the materials used to create the egg.
"The six-pointed star and the triangles at the edge formed a shape that looked like a round mouth full of jagged teeth, both of which had the characteristics and symbols of sacrifice, and these candles must have been used to guide the thing deep in the abyss to come here to receive the offering."
But because this was a Creation Ritual, the above were only Symbolic Symbols, not a complete Sacrifice and Prayer ritual, so the offerings were not received by any entity from the beginning, all the materials 'sacrificed' in this circle, more or less, had turned into that meat egg.
He walked around looking for something, and sure enough, near the six-pointed star circle located outside the Magical Formation, the young man discovered what he was looking for, so he quickly walked over and picked it up.
If you didn’t look closely, you would think it was trash. But no, it was actually a book, not a normal paper book but a book made from the skin of some kind of animal.
On top of the book, there were also blood stains.
Rather than a book, it looked more like a pile of papers connected by a string through several holes cut out on them.
“Sheepskin book? That’s a rare one.”
Voma could tell by touching it what kind of skin it was made from. A book made from high-quality leather like this could probably be sold for a lot of money if he brought it home.
He secretly smiled at the thought that had just flashed through his mind, then began to silently read the content written inside these pages.
Today he smiled a little more than usual, not too much but easy to notice, it was very rare for Voma to smile after saying every two sentences like this. And the reason for this unsual behaviour is because a ridiculous idea had appeared in his mind.
Voma doesn't like long and complicated thoughts, so he often analyzes everything very quickly, and his thinking is also very clean, leading to his information processing speed being extremely terrifying.
He didn't like to be immersed in a certain type of emotion that would make his thoughts chaotic, such as fear or confusion, this wasn't that he wouldn't feel those emotions, it is simply that Voma didn't like those emotions so he suppressed them very quickly.
For Voma, negative emotions that affected his thoughts such as fear, confusion, horror... were like sweat, dirt or bacteria on his body, extremely unpleasant.
Thanks to that, Voma had learned to analyze the situation very quickly, and based on what he had seen since waking up until now, he had come up with two hypotheses.
One was that he was teleported or kidnapped to some mysterious place that didn't exist on the world map, forced to participate in a life-and-death game to entertain the rich.
The chances of this happening were not zero, after all, he was pretty sure that the upper echelons had probably held a few death games like this before, but it was almost impossible for this to happen to Voma, even if it did, it still couldn’t explain the crack in the sky earlier.
Was it a hologram, using high technology to deceive others? Why would the rich go through such trouble to recruit players? Furthermore, Voma could be sure that the mark he saw back then wasn’t… at least it wasn’t something created by technology.
So he set his eyes on the second hypothesis, he was transported to another world where magic existed.
This hypothesis sounded like a madman talking in his sleep, but Voma ignored it, thanks to his personality he directly eliminated complicated thoughts like 'Is this possible' or 'Does another world really exist' from his mind and only focused on what was in front of him right now.
Thinking about those things was useless right now, focusing on the immediate survival was more important, waiting until he could stabilize his life and then continue thinking about those things.
The words written on the sheepskin came from a language that was completely foreign to Voma, but for some reason he was able to read them without any problems.
Voma had no intention of guessing why he could understand this language, there had been enough strange things happening today, so he decided to throw away the unnecessary thoughts he had in his head and focus on reading the contents of the book.
After finishing reading, Voma let out a sigh and summed up the entire contents of the book in one sentence. "So it's a diary."
This sheepskin book was indeed a diary, recording the process by which the writer and his accomplices built the 'construction' before his eyes right now.
"Its contents... how should I describe it... ah yes, it's an average diary in a horror game."
That's right, its contents were no different from those of horror games with the setting of a destroyed research facility.
However, what was written in this was a little different, instead of starting from before the disaster happened, the contents of this diary started when these people were on the run.
Roughly speaking, the person who wrote this diary and his companions seemed to be fleeing their country, and they did not run away empty-handed, but also brought with them a blueprint, all kinds of materials, and technology to build something.
After several weeks of traveling, they planned to build that thing to completely escape from this land.
And what they planned to build was none other than that egg over there. But perhaps because they were in a hurry when they ran, they did not bring enough necessary materials, and at the same time, that thing had just been completed and had not been tested, which led to the group of them encountering an extremely fatal mistake.
