Z:E;Sp/O – #42 CN “Turntable”

  Anomaly Codename: "Turntable"

  Time of Arrival: 09:31 02-03-2029Task force deployed: Romeo 1Preliminary Information: "Conflicting reports of the geographical yout in [DATA CORRUPTED], Oregon"Time of Report: 12:00 07-03-2029Anomaly Location: Oregon09:31: TF-R1 Arrives on-scene and we begin our investigation. Disguised as civilians on tour, TF-R1 splits up to question locals and to secure a base of operations.

  12:00: Unit 1 Rents a pair of two-bed rooms at the local motel. Units 2, 3, and 4 question various locals around town, gathering rumors and directions to other towns and ndmarks. After reconvening, each Unit reys the information they collected.

  Civilian testimonies;

  "Rumors? I couldn't really say there are any. Though, ahh... Well, us 'old folk' have been keepin' the town legend alive, passin' it down to our youngins. See, we have an old story here, about the trees. They say the trees are alive, and that they're always on the move, circling our town like wolves. The legend goes that, if you stay out in the forest at night, the trees will spirit you away to another world, one devoid of all life. The trees are patient, and will wait for you to tire yourself out. And when you succumb to the elements... The trees eat you, leaving nothing behind. Hope y'all stay away from the trees... For yer own good.""Landmarks? Well... I wouldn't really recommend doing any hiking. Folks tend to get lost out in the woods. ...Uh, I guess if you insist... There's a hill out in the woods with some crazy rock formations at the top. Seems man-made, but I'm no expert. If you look around above the tree line, though, you should see a balloon indicating where it is. ...Why not just use directions? It's just easier this way. Now, get going, or whatever. And don't stay out past night.""... Directions to the next town? Just follow the roads out of town, and they'll probably take you where you're going. ... Listen, I don't know what you want, but I've already told you enough to get to the next town, so be on your way, please."Despite asking a wide variety of people, it seemed consistent that the local residents never relied on concrete directions, and no one could provide any physical maps. When asked why, they responded with "We have no use for maps". Supposedly, even digital maps would bug out when used near the town. Unit 2 confirmed this.

  13:20: TF-R1 takes a lunch break at the local diner. Unit 3 makes small-talk with the waitress. Unit 4 asks a local if it would be okay to set up some cameras around, expining that we're trying to capture the movement of the stars. The local mentions it shouldn't be a problem.

  14:00: TF-R1 begins STPs, moving to the outskirts of the town. Unit 4 pced wireless camera posts near the entrance to the town by the road, one just outside the treeline, and one several meters into the forest. Units 3 & 2 split off to investigate the ndmark the locals mentioned. No Anomalous activity seen at this time. Unit 1 uses the AES we had been deployed with, confirming a low level of anomalous energy around the tree line.

  18:00: Units 2 & 3 reconvene with Units 1 & 4 at the motel, where we had been monitoring the cameras. Unit 2 reports that they eventually found the ndmark after unexpected difficulty navigating. They identify the rock formation as being an odd assembly of stone columns and boulders, simir to the infamous Stone Henge, but noticeably different. Below is an image attached.

  1DATA CORRUPTED

  Unit 1 & 4 report that nothing substantial has been recorded on the cameras as of yet. TF-R1 enters standby while information is collected passively.

  09:00 03-03-2029: Units 1 & 2 check the live camera feeds in the early morning, and initially conclude that nothing significant seems to have changed. However, after examining the footage collected overnight, significant information comes to light. Camera 1, pced at the entrance of town, observes the road out of town slowly moving out of sight. In the background, it could also be seen that the trees had moved along with the road, moving to the right of the camera feed. Camera 2, pced just outside the treeline, had recorded nothing significant however, along with Camera 3, which had been pced further into the woods. Further testing was required to determine the nature of the anomaly.

  11:00: Unit 4 is instructed to rotate camera 2 to face the town. Units 2 & 3 are instructed to setup a camp just inside the treeline. When arriving at the location the cameras should be at, they reported that the cameras are nowhere to be found. After splitting up to find the cameras, they were discovered seemingly untouched at the edge of the forest southeast of the town. Unit 3 reported that the angle of the town is inconsistent with how it should really look from the southeast. Units 2 & 3 were ordered to continue the operation, and set camp by the two cameras.

  20:00: No significant information to report. TF-R1 continues to collect information.

  07:00 04-03-2029: Units 2 & 3 report that the trees seem to remain completely static the entire night, but the town had slowly rotated throughout the night, showing a slightly different angle every hour. The footage from camera 2, having been rotated to watch the town, corroborated this report when sped up significantly. Further testing to be done, however the anomaly has been assumed to be a Zone-type.

  [DATA CORRUPTED]
