Chapter 70: Monster Attack

“It’s over now…” Captain Guan felt a chill in his heart as he saw Kallen and the gray-armored soldier being taken down one after the other. Jason was simply too strong, far beyond his imagination.

“Captain, what should we do now? Kallen has been defeated, and General Li is also blocked. What should we do?” A-Bing’s panicked voice came through the communicator.

“Don’t panic, let me think carefully.” Captain Guan racked his brain for a way to break the deadlock, but no matter how he thought about it, the answer he came to was the same: their operation had completely failed, and it was very likely that they would all die here. Captain Guan's face turned ashen, and he was speechless for a while.

“Captain Guan, say something! You are our commander. Should we continue fighting?!” The bald scarred man anxiously spoke into the communicator.

“Fight? What are you talking about? Kallen has already been taken out. We’ve lost completely. Run for your lives!” Voices from others came through the communicator.

“Run? How can we run? Won’t they chase us? If the enemy catches up, we’ll be dead anyway!”

“What should we do then? We can’t win if we fight, and we can’t escape either. Isn’t that the end for us!”

The rebels were in complete panic, despair filling their hearts. At that moment, a small truck appeared in the square, driving straight towards Jason, aimed to crash into him.

Jason noticed the truck coming towards him and immediately flew up, hovering about ten meters above the ground, avoiding the truck's collision. The truck screeched to a stop, and the door opened. A figure wearing a full-face black mask, dressed in black clothing and draped in a black cloak, stepped out of the vehicle.

“Who are you? Are you one of the rebels?!” Jason looked down at the masked figure in surprise. The person was completely covered by a helmet, mask, and cloak, making it impossible for Jason to see their face or even determine if they were male or female.

“You ask me who I am?” The masked figure looked up at Jason hovering in the air and spoke. A somewhat blurred male voice came from the gray-black mask. “I am the person you are looking for, the one who assassinated your Governor Suwen.”

“So it's you?!” Jason was shocked. “You finally decided to show yourself?”

The masked figure replied, “Now that I am here, according to our agreement, you can release those captured rebel prisoners.”

Jason said, “That won’t work. I still need to consult Governor Suwen about this. Besides, you’re completely hidden; no one can see your appearance. How do I know you’re the person the governor is looking for?”

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

The masked figure said, “Since you don’t believe me, call Governor Suwen out, and let me confront him directly. Everything will be clear then.”

Jason sneered, “Do you think you can just see the governor whenever you want? Why don’t you take off your helmet and mask first, so I can see your true face, and then we can make a conclusion.”

“No, I must see Governor Suwen in person before I reveal my true identity,” the masked figure said in an uncompromising tone.

Jason’s eyes flickered, and suddenly he thought of something. He said, “Since you want to meet the governor so badly, you must have ulterior motives. You must want to harm him. Hmph, do you think such tricks can fool me? Take off your mask quickly, or I’ll take your life.”

“Since that Governor Suwen doesn’t have the guts to come out and meet me, then I have nothing more to say. I’ll be leaving,” the figure said, turning towards the vehicle.

“Want to leave? It won’t be that easy.” Jason said, plummeting from the air, flying straight towards the masked figure.

A tall black shadow suddenly appeared from nowhere and charged at Jason rapidly. Realizing the black shadow's approach, Jason quickly flew upward to avoid the collision. Looking down, he saw a bizarre creature, about two meters tall and completely black, standing next to the masked figure.

“This… is a minotaur with four arms?!” Jason looked in shock at the towering creature.

As Jason described, next to the masked figure stood a two-meter-tall, completely black creature. This creature was naked, not even wearing shoes, and was only clad in light blue sports shorts. Its muscles were extraordinarily developed, resembling a fierce beast.

Although it had a seemingly human face, it bore features like a bull, with two long, sharp horns on its head, resembling a minotaur. Most strikingly, this minotaur had four thick and long arms.

“Let me introduce you; this is my subordinate, his name is A-Niu.” The masked figure patted the minotaur's back, speaking in a relaxed tone. The four-armed minotaur stood quietly beside him, looking up at Jason, who was hovering in the air.

Jason said coldly, “Your subordinate? Do you think I don’t know? This is a monster from the Sanctuary. Where did you get this thing?”

The masked figure replied, “Where he came from is not important. What matters is that he can defeat you.”

Jason scoffed, “With him? I’ve killed so many monsters in the Sanctuary that I can’t even count them. I don’t take such monsters seriously at all.”

“Is that so? Then let’s test it,” the masked figure pointed at Jason hovering in mid-air and said, “A-Niu, this old man in pink clothes wants to play a fighting game with you. You can play with him, and if you win, I’ll reward you with three days of food.”

“Three days of food? Alright, I’ll take him down!” The four-armed minotaur, named A-Niu, said in a rough and unclear voice. His expression became extremely excited, and he snorted heavily through his large nostrils. He suddenly pushed off the ground and leaped towards Jason, who was about five or six meters high.

Jason quickly shifted in the air to avoid A-Niu's attack. Just then, a whirlwind appeared out of nowhere, wrapping around Jason and pulling him toward the four-armed minotaur.

The force of the whirlwind was extremely powerful, and Jason found it impossible to break free, being swept closer to A-Niu. The four-armed minotaur swung its four thick and long arms, simultaneously punching towards Jason.

With a series of dull thuds, Jason was hit in the face, chest, and abdomen by A-Niu’s punches, being sent flying to the ground, crashing heavily. The strength of the four-armed minotaur was astonishing; after taking those punches, Jason felt dizzy, and it seemed as if his bones were about to break.
