Ninety Nine

The level of vitriol and invectives surprised the guests. It did not, however, surprise Seulgi in the slightest.

  Compin, compin, and compin.

“Yes, she was over here. In your space. You know that Nayeon is welcome to come over.” Seulgi turned back to the Parents and whispered “Nayeon was over here yesterday.”

  Invective, accusation and pejorative.

  “Did she?”

  Further accusations.

  “No! She wouldn’t have!”

Seulgi came in and tossed her keys into the bowl for keys, badges, and other odds and sods. She also toed off her shoes before entering the apartment proper.

The fuzzy monolog was cut short once the Parents showed up. And incredulous look almost as if to say “What? MORE people?! Seulgi!”

She gave a quick but thorough rub between the ears before saying, “These are our guests. Jeong-Hui and Sung-Hoon.” She took a knuckle and thunked the cat between the ears and continued: “They are important guest. Be polite.”

Seulgi turned to her guests and said, “Jeong-Hui, Sung-Hoon, this is the true Lord and Master of this apartment. She lets me stay here. May I present to you, Her Fuzzy Highness, Suki.”

Sung-Hoon was not a cat person, so he was not sure if Seulgi had a quirk or just a sense of humor that was a touch off. He chose to let it slide. Cat people, almost by definition, were a strange bunch.

Jeong-Hui, on the other hand, lit up like a little girl at a candy shop with a 5 bill. Unlike her dolt of a husband, she came forward and greeted Her Fuzzy Highness Suki properly. She presented her fingers to be tested. Suki found her acceptable. Jeong-Hui in turn, got her fingers marked as acceptable with a rub of the muzzle. Jeong-Hui didn’t quite squeal in joy. It was a close thing.

Sung-Hoon rolled his eyes at these antics. He sighed at the cat people and how strange they all were. He knew that his Wife was a lost cause for the next hour, so he asked Seulgi where their room was. She pointed down the hall when there was a knock at the door.

She shooed him down the hallway and went to go answer the door. She looked at the camera before opening the door. She asked them to bring the cases into the kitchen. Once having deposited the cases, and being ignored by the cat and older dy, the amused guards trooped back out to get back to their posts. Seulgi graced them with a smile full of warmth before they left. These big, tough, violent guys got all gooey in the middle, though they tried to hide it. They completely failed.

Seulgi started taking two cases down to the spare room only to be met halfway by Song-Hoon who took them from her. She turned around and got the st case and blue bag. She then brought them to the room before he could come back and get the rest.

Seulgi noticed how the pce was even cleaner than even she expected. She blessed Nayeon a few thousand times for her thoughtfulness. Even the wood flooring had an extra special shine meaning that Nayeon went ahead and mopped as well as swept. She was going to have to get something special for this girl. Maybe she’ll sp down Soo-young next time they meet and get her to behave for Nayeon.

There was even a distinct ck of fur floating around. Much to the disgust of a certain someone.

Seulgi understood that Jeong-Hui would be unavaible for a while, so she took Song-Hoon on a tour of the pce. Where all the light switches were, the bathroom, the kitchen, the living room, there was a broom handle in the track behind the sliding gss door to lock it closed. Granted, a thief repelling down to her balcony to steal cat food was highly unlikely. Still, stranger things have happened. She thought that there was an underwear thief for a while until she lifted a couch while vacuuming and found where Suki was keeping her stash.

She took him into her bedroom and showed him around in case both of them needed to use the bathroom at the same time. She made sure to show him where the fuse box was. As unlikely as it was to need it, it’s still important to know where it was. Just in case. Also, there is a bathtub in her bathroom that was not present in the second bathroom. They agreed that if someone was going to use the tub to close the door, so no one would walk into a sight that they did not want to see.

Seulgi was not into older men and Jeong-Hui might cw Song-Hoon’s eyes out. Whether literally or figuratively, no one was willing to find out.

When they exited the bedroom, they found Jeong-Hui on the couch, with Suki lying on her back on the woman’s p. They were pying tug-of-war with her hand. Seulgi was relieved to see that her usually well-behaved friend was exercising restraint and left her cws sheathed.

A much warmer baritone than Seulgi ever heard said, “Honey?”

  Jeong-Hui looked up.

“Put Princess Suki down. We need to unpack.” Used to his wife, he also did a walk-through of the apartment for her, showing her the important things. Where the cat food and the spare litter were could come ter.

While they were busy doing their things, Seulgi started making some things for a light meal. They would all be going to sleep not long after the meal was over, so something simple, light, and fast was called for.

She kept a running dialog with Suki. Now that she had been properly paid attention to, even if by a stranger, Suki was in a much better mood. She was even ready to forgive her Idiot. Seulgi knew that with the mind of an ADHD kid on sugar, Suki would forget most things fairly quickly.

Once they had everything sorted out, unpacked, and pced in comfortable pces, they came out to the kitchen where the meal that they had been smelling was waiting. As expected, they had impeccable manners.
