The next day was difficult for the nocturnal Larv to manage, most of them staying in buildings and the sewer tunnels, exploring the entire structure and attempting to repair the many holes that could be used for people like the larv to enter the city.
Still, the council and Jeolas walked through the streets proudly, stepping on the marked square, where a group of adventurers faced them.
"We, the adventurers guild, will ensure that you no linger harm the innocent!"
Norman stood behind his men, visibly unhappy to participate in this farce.
"We only intend to purify the people, few have died to us yet, although their power is lost. If you forsake those twisted Idols, we will have no reason for hostilities. I like your operation, I might even fund it once we have the possibility."
Jeolas announced, the circle around him confused, with only the two faction leaders knowing how this was supposed to go, they were fooled like most other people.
"I will not allow your funding, so long as you support hurting the innocent, we will be enemies."
He said, Jeolas shaking his head.
"I see the value of your organisation, and as this army must proceed, we offer you to make sure this place remains in order. You have my full authority so long as I am gone, but must make sure that those parasites called gods aren't worshipped in our domain.
We do not kill innocents, and if you need to watch our behaviour to decide it for yourself, this position will be perfect."
He concluded, the other man nodding.
"We will only allow this if the local guild master is alway the councilor of defense. We will not allow anyone to be hurt by monsters if it can be avoided. I will personally venture with you to make sure this bargain is upheld and the people are protected, though the guild leaders shall never fight on behalf of a conquering force."
"So it shall be." Jeolas agreed with his friend.
The men around them trying to look as professionally neutral as physically possible, while an even they thought would lead to a hard fight battle became a bargaining for power between equal parties, openly enough that every snowborn in these lands support the guild and place their trust in an organisation that recently started getting rid off all those pesky monsters that somehow appeared in the city.
When the Larv started their journey to Mittellande, each faction left behind one member do become a councilor in that area.
Once the army went, there were [number] seats cleared in the majors room.
The most altruistic among the Larv, dedicated to healing those in need became the councilor of religion. He was a preacher before and was now named the Bishop of Furchenstein, his job being the spreading of their faith.
A fervent inquisitor became the councilor of justice, or just the high inquisitor of Furchenstein, his task of driving out any remnants of power the dark gods and other demons held over the people one that earned him much scrutiny.
One of the doubters became the councilor of Judgement, his task of questioning everything people did becoming one of utmost importance, as his job would be to implement Judges and tell the Inquisitors where to strike.
A bored, elderly snowborn took upon himself the mantle of guild representative, warding the city from external forces and making sure noone incide was hurt by monsters.
One shady figure, a rogue that Nemo himself appointed became the Councilor of crime, his job not officially named, as he was tasked with gathering any and all intel, and solidifying the local criminals under his watch, becoming a legally ignored crime boss. Although he was to wear a mask at all times, he was allowed to meet with each councilor individually, but never appear at council meetings.
With all of this sorted, the army restocked their supplies, rested for the night and continued their march the very next day. The three Heroes walking at the very front, two of them slowly getting to know one another.
"So, how many heroes are there?" Nemo asked, Jeolas grinning as he answered.
"There are at least five, we three, the Hero of stars and he hero of fate, probably more if I had to guess, possibly something with magic, though the magic hero is probably me, given the systems existence."
He concluded smiling as the journey continued.
