Yuichi was at his desk waiting for school to start when he felt something yank him out of his chair. Upon looking behind him he saw a serious looking Chiyo dragging him by the collar.
“What are you doing to me,” Yuichi asked.
Chiyo sighed and looked back at him while dragging him out of the classroom.
“There’s reports of a Yo-Kawaii two blocks down,” Chiyo explained, “I was the closest available hunter nearby, and I needed some back up.”
“Can’t you just get another person to drag along with you,” Yuichi asked, “I’m kind of busy right now.”
“It’s 3:00AM, class doesn’t start for another 3 hours,” Chiyo said.
“I like to be prepared,” said Yuichi defensively, “You never know if something might prevent you from going to school. Like say this girl who won’t leave you alone and is dragging you off to who knows where.”
“We’re going to the ramen shop nearby,” Chiyo said.
“Wait, the one that sells ramen with the little sushi on top,” asked Yuichi.
Yuichi stopped struggling and looked at Chiyo.
“We can go as long as we hurry, I don’t want to be late to class, but it’s for ramen so I can't just sit back.” Yuichi said.
Chiyo just rolled her eyes.

They were outside the ramen shop, and Chiyo was dressed in her combat outfit. It looked like several halloween costumes had been stitched together, along with some protective gear.
“Why are you dressed like that?” Yuichi asked.
“It’s protective gear,” Chiyo said, “It’s designed to not look threatening so when I’m out on the streets people don’t question me.”
“Yeah, you're still going to be questioned,” Yuichi said.
Chiyo glared at him before going to the back of the shop. As they were approaching it a faint humming noise could be heard. When they peeked their heads around the corner the source of the humming was revealed. It was a large puppy standing on its hind legs with chainsaws for hands. It looked at the two of them with large adorables eyes, and then it started sprinting towards them.
Chiyo unsheathed her katana and called back at Yuichi, “I’ll hold it off, now do the chant I told you to give me some of your energy.”
The Yokawaii was now infront of Chiyo and was attempting to saw he katana with its hands, the sound of metal screeching filled the night unsettling Yuichi.
“What’s the hold up, I need your help now!” called Chiyo.
Yuichi just stood there, his cheeks red.
“It’s kind of embarrassing to say.” Yuichi said.
“So,” asked Chiyo.
“So I don’t want to look stupid that’s all,” said Yuichi shyly.
Chiyo glanced back at Yuichi with unbelief.
“DO IT NOW” roared Chiyo.
Yuichi sighed and assumed a strange looking yoga pose.
“By the power of friendship, I grant you Strengthhhh.”

A glowing light exited Yuichi’s body floating towards Chiyo. As soon as it touched her, her hair stood up flying towards the sky. With miraculous strength the katana cut through the saws and through the puppy, it was a horrifying sight.
“Now can we go to school?” Yuichi said.
“Honestly you’re kind of a pain.” Chiyo mumbled.
“What did you say!” Yuichi asked.
“We can go now.”

Yuichi was back in desk, feeling comfortable now that he was back to his schedule. It had taken a bit of bribing to get the Vice-Principal to let him in again, but overall Yuichi was feeling happy.
“Sup dude,” a voice called.
The voice was Hachi, the student who sat in front of Yuichi. He had green hair and wore a chain necklace. He had the annoying habit of talking like a surfer dude from the 80’s, but Hachi was a predictable person, and Yuichi didn’t mind being predictable.
They continued bantering back and forth, Yuichi not really listening. They said the same thing, like actors on a script so he started thinking about what kind of assignments they would have today.
Soon all the students wandered in, and Hachi started talking to them. Yuichi just stared into space wondering what the day would bring. Ever since he had met Chiyo, his life had gotten strange and he was worried what would happen.
“Congrats man,” Hachi said returning.
“On what?” asked Yuichi.
“On getting a girlfriend, man,” Hachi said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Yuichi just sat there in silence wondering what kind of mind games Hachi was doing.
Is he messing with me?
I thought we already talked, has he been plotting this the entire time?
Then a smiling Chiyo walked in.
“Hi Yu-Chan,” said Chiyo.
“Eh?”
Chiyo went up to Yuichi, hugged him and whispered into his ear, “Make a scene and you're dead.”
Yuichi’s defenses went up, he wasn’t sure what was happening but one wrong step and he was dead. He sat there, his body tense wondering what was going to happen next.
“You good man?” asked Hachi.
“I’m fine, never better.” laughed Yuichi nervously.
Chiyo's smile turned serpentine before returning to normal. She giggled and went back to her seat. Yuichi didn’t know what was happening but he needed to be prepared.

Chiyo was walking down an alley, each of her footsteps clicking across the stones. It was quiet, then an arrow zipped towards Chiyo, she side stepped it perfectly causing the arrow to barely miss her shoulder. She felt her foot step on something and noticed a mine beneath her foot. She quickly lifted her foot and kicked the mine before it could explode. There was a crackling sound as a taser activated and she heard her assailant try to pin her. She side stepped again causing Yuichi to miss and fall on the floor.
“Who are you and what have you done with Dashi-san?” demanded Yuichi.
“It’s really me Kimichi.” sighed Chiyo.
“Then why did you threaten me!” asked Yuichi.
“Because I needed a diversion and you wouldn’t have gone along with me unless I made you take it seriously,” said Chiyo.
“A diversion for what?” asked Yuichi.
“fOr mE” said a mysterious voice.
Behind Chiyo was Hachi, or what looked to be Hachi, with round cartoon eyes. He was pale and gaunt and looked like a zombie with the eyes of a caffeinated squirrel.
“I knew he was up to something,” declared Yuichi.
“That’s not really Hachi,” Chiyo explained, “Something took him over”
“Oh….. sorry Hachi,” apologized Yuichi.
The creature didn’t care and dashed forward, arms reaching out trying to take a bite out of Chiyo. She fought back with her hands trying to keep the infected Hachi away.
“Give me a weapon,” asked Chiyo.
Yuichi grabbed the taser and tossed it towards Chiyo. She caught it in one hand and proceeded to smash the Hachi’s enormous eyes with the back.
It howled in pain covering its eyes before Chiyo punched it in the eye one last time causing Hachi to fall over. Chiyo was panting exhausted by the effort. Yuichi offered his hand to try and support her.
“Thanks,” said Chiyo, “I couldn’t have done this without you.”
“I didn’t help you, I didn’t do the weird boost thing,” Yuichi said.
Chiyo smiled, “You don’t have to once your friendship with someone is strong enough.”
This caused Yuichi to pause and look her in the eyes.
“It’s a good thing you're a tsundere,” Chiyo said, “Otherwise there’s no way that would have worked.”
Yuichi was about to retort before he was cut off by a loud groan.
“What happened dude?” asked Hachi.
He had looked pretty weak as a zombie, but now he had a massive black eye where Chiyo had punched. Chiyo and Yuichi looked at each other awkwardly
“Why do I feel like I was hit by a truck?”

“My entire face feels broken,” said Hachi
Hachi and Yuichi were heading towards the ramen shop, Chiyo had made up an explanation that was more or less saying that Hachi had fallen on his face several times. Yuichi wasn’t sure that it was a sound explanation, but Hachi didn’t ask any further questions.
“Thanks for inviting me to come with you man,” said Hachi
“No worries,” said Yuichi.
He felt a little bad that Hachi was now intensely bruised and had no memory of the event whatsoever.
“You know I thought you hated me,” said Hachi.
Yuichi looked at him with confusion.
“I always thought you were lonely so I tried talking to you but you never seemed interested,” said Hachi ,“But now I know you're just a tsundere.”
“You heard that,” said Yuichi.
Yuichi sighed and a confused Hachi looked at him wondering what he had said wrong. The pair walked towards the ramen shop, bellies hungry.
