The Un(ending) March

In order to live, you must roll with the punches

The uppercuts, the jabs and the jukes

That life will send your way

In a constant stream of almost reviling cruelty

And eventually, you'll miss a step

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

And it will get a few good hits in

And if you are young and lucky enough

Perhaps you will get up once more,

To fight the good fight a little longer.

But the day shall come when you are tired and weary,

And caught off guard from introspection

You will fall to your knees, yet again newly broken

Unable to sustain the heavy weight

Of all the bittersweet memories within you

And as you curl up and wait to die

Life will kick you while you're spiraling downward

As you slowly succumb to the endless march of entropy

You will perish via death by a thousand cuts

Each wound designed to slay a greater man than you.

And yet, through it all, I hope you will be happy.
