Chapter 1: It all begins

"The Void Reality? At least... it s-sounds better... than the last... realm.

Let's hope this kid *cough* survives... *cough*"

*Attempt 4 has completed a Quest*

  "Nice going... number 4."

I wake up once more. I would say "a new dawn, a new day," but there is never a dawn, nor is it ever day. It's really weird to go to sleep and wake up without ever seeing the sun or the moon.

  This really is a void...

Luckily there are stars to keep me company. I wonder if they're real. If a void has stars, what separates it from just being.. space?

Anyhow, now that I'm...decently sure that this is not a dream, what is happening to me?

  What should I do?

  What is this system?

Is there a goal I'm supposed to reach? Who is this Exiled person? Where am I really, and what is the Void Reality?

  Is there a time limit?

So many questions. The system doesn't seem like a bad thing though. For now perhaps it would be best to follow it, collect its rewards, and become stronger.

I mean, cultivating and becoming stronger with a system sounds like it'd benefit me a lot. I'll probably be able to split boulders with a karate chop at some point if this is anything like those trashy internet novels.

My long-term goal should always be to survive, I suppose. My short-term goals could be the quests I receive.

The Exiled and the Void Reality seem like things I won't be able to figure out any time soon, so let's forget about them for now.

And if there is an invisible time limit... Hmm, I hope there isn't, but I should probably get a move on sooner rather than later.

  Alright I've decided. "Quests"

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

  *Bingbong*

Guess I have to start with the Cultivation line. Boulder splitting karate chops, here I come.

  -2 Hours later-

A cultivator sits in silence, his eyes closed and his hands in the lap of his crossed legs. Someone from his previous world would describe him as a Buddhist monk.

Then there's a twitch in his face. His eyes open as he jumps to his feet in a fit of rage.

IS THERE NO TUTORIAL FOR THIS? WHAT AM I EVEN TRYING TO SENSE?

  THERE IS NOTHING HERE! IT'S A V O I D!

  Right, the pills.

Now, how do I use this inventory...

  "Inventory"

  "Bag"

  "Storage"

Hmm. System, how do I open my inventory?

Ok, so I need to think about the Qi pill...

And there it is! Help me out here my little savior.

  *Bingbong*

  Inner Peace of the Capybara?

Can capybaras split rocks with their fist...paws? Actually, I'd pay to see that.

Dear diary, several days have passed. I think. I am still stuck on a rock with a wooden shed, accompanied by a patch of grass and a singular tree.

Whispers coil like ivy in my mind,

laughter echoes where silence should reside.

Insanity may find me yet, or will I find it first?

  I wonder what it's like.
