Matilda looked over at the tardy Red Haven Emperor and nodded.
He was te, others were even angry because he was so very te but Matilda had told them that a true golden heir had held him up and so he was in an important conference with them.
It was right…It was a true golden heir, and it was an important conversation!
Matilda had just looked into them and finding out not only Madeline’s true golden power, but that of her trying to kill herself had been new to her too.
Madeline came across as someone with a whole life ahead of her because she was just ‘a child’. But she was a lot more mature than people might think. She just hid it…It seems, it was how she coped with people and how the world works. Was it that the more she knew of the people in it the more childish she became? Matilda even wondered if her being ‘bubbly’ was even an act…Or something she was just trying hard with. It was easy to state that Madeline became a bit of a worry for Matilda now…
There were two people who knew of Madeline and who she was though, and that were her parents…
Nonetheless, it wasn’t a good time to be thinking of that now, she had work to do!
“Now that you are all together, please, while you are eating your breakfast…Or finishing it because you have already started, I would like you to think about if you would like an elimination process of the golden heirs. After breakfast we will try to come to a decision!”
Madeline finally came, from a completely different direction, along with her father, mother and her younger sibling.
People did have questions, upon if any of them were the ‘true golden heir’ that held up the red haven emperor but didn’t think of it as ‘important’ so decided that it must have been someone else.
That’s when Matthew came in, who had absolutely no intention of looking like the ‘true golden heir’ that kept the red haven emperor busy but…He was ‘it’….
They all accepted it after that, making Matilda almost lose her breakfast!
It was just pure coincidence!
Matthew was…He went to do a number two! And there was absolutely no way she was just going to tell everyone that! But…
Fucking idiots!
Shaking her head and not really knowing what to do to hold their assumptions and put them to rest, she bowed her head in defeat…
“Matilda?” Matthew asked, sitting down next to her.
She just looked at him and smiled, unable to hold it back. “It’s nothing…Just assumptions!”
Perhaps she should have just let them get mad at the Red Haven Emperor and not tell them anything!
The breakfast took a little longer, considering that some had started before everyone was even there. The aura in the pce actually wasn’t very good.
The nights were fine, enduring…Fun even…
The mornings, when everyone is reminded upon where they were, considering they did a lot more to look after themselves, were a lot tougher!
It was simple…They were really starting to get edgy and obviously wanting to go back home!
Some ministers had to become the missing eunuch and dress their emperor while grumbles would be heard otherwise. They couldn’t sit on a chair to go from one pce to another…Their meals weren’t something they were used to either!
Eating here, with pretty much just one main pte and a bit of dessert was a lot different to a table full of different foods! Most of the emperors finished their ptes, not because it was yummy, but because they were quite hungry and had no other option! Yet, none of them said anything…It was almost like they knew that if they compined about anything to do with the accommodation a little woman would be angry!
…That didn’t stop them feeling the want to go home though…
Another reason was their clothes…They could only bring so much but the undry was something that took time and wasn’t as good as back in their pace. The clothes didn’t come back like they’d been fttened, they came back with a few creases…
Matilda sighed to how much they cared but really, it seems that an emperor does want to wear better washed and ‘ironed’ material and so…She’ll have to deal with that ter.
All these things that needed to be done for the new golden emperor were all written down and that was just one of them.
Finally, through their inner grumblings, Matilda stood in front of them and asked what they thought of an elimination process.
“I believe it is necessary, if anything to save on time and materials.” One stated…To which others nodded to.
Matilda felt soft to the golden heirs who would be gone just like that, but this wasn’t about what she wanted…Perhaps she was still too soft hearted after all…
“Do we all agree then, to do an elimination process?” She asked the emperors.
Seeing that all of them agreed, Matilda sighed inwardly.
Sometimes this job sucked!
That morning was dedicated to eliminating golden heirs that had absolutely no votes. It was also agreed upon that they have another elimination process ter, to which the one with the lowest votes would no longer be in ‘the race’.
So…Matilda did her bit and told Kin, An and Katherine to keep an eye on the golden heirs, by taking them away, while she and Matthew organized the emperors to sit apart and to get them to write down some names.
Ah, time seemed to slow down then for Matilda…She fidgeted with her fingers and Matthew even gave her a funny look.
“What’s wrong, love?” He whispered.
“Nothing…It’s just…” Matilda just mumbled and stopped. Was it really ok to just kick the golden heirs out?
He, among many other times, had used his spiritual essence to feel her emotions, but it was becoming more and more clear to him on who Matilda was as a person and really didn’t need to seek out her emotions anymore.
Matthew chuckled lightly and kissed her on the head, “Sometimes you are very sensitive…”
He then thought that other times that she wasn’t sensitive at all!
Matilda smiled and shook her head, hitting him lightly on his arm. She wanted to talk but she kept her mouth shut, they were supposed to be quiet so that they wouldn’t distract the emperors!
Quite a distance away from the emperors, some of the golden heirs started to get edgy…
“What’s taking them so long!”
They were thinking that if they would become the next golden emperor that making him wait in the future would incur consequences!
Nate rolled his eyes and went to pace, quietly…He was edgy, but he wasn’t going to compin about it! He was wondering if he had pyed this right. There was so much riding upon this that Nate suddenly wondered what if he would do if he wasn’t chosen by anyone at all…What would he do!? He decided not to think about it and continued to pace…
Austin sat down and just waited while the golden heir from blue haven went to him and said, “You are one of those true golden heirs…Aren’t you?”
Austin nodded his head, “I am.”
“I was told that the true golden heirs have a golden dantian and a special type of cultivation. What’s yours?”
Austin nearly frowned, finding this heir a bit rude but instead took a moment before saying, “I wasn’t going to use it.”
The blue haven golden heir put his head to the side and sighed, “That’s not what I asked you!”
It wasn’t and Austin knew that, but this person seemed to not want to let it go!
“I didn’t think it was going to be fair if I used something that many of you didn’t have.” It wouldn’t be wrong for Austin to not only try to guide the topic to one of his choosing but to also try and look good while at it! He was multitasking!
“…That is still not an answer to my question!”
The blue haven golden heir sat down and sighed again, “We haven’t been properly introduced. I’m Galvin.”
Austin already knew his name and Galvin probably already knew his as well, but it was true, they had been somewhat rude in personal introductions!
“I am Austin.”
“My father seems to be that one over there.” Galvin pointed to Nate, who continued to pace. “He impregnated my mother, and she never told a soul that I was another man’s child. I didn’t find out until I got the letter…And I was pretty sure my mother was not a golden heir…I suppose it wasn’t hard to figure out…”
Austin eyed him for a moment, then said, “But I hear that the blue haven emperor has not thrown you away.”
Galvin smiled, “Yes, well to me he is my real father. We might not share blood, but I am more like him than any other of his children, go and ask him!”
Austin half smiled, not even meaning too, “I see!”
“Yes, well, he spent a lot of time with me. Perhaps he liked my hair…My hair is nice, touch it!” Galvin put his head towards Austin and Austin was a bit taken aback…He could only do as what he was ‘meant’ to do!
But it was true…He had nice hair! It was soft! The luxurious hair wasn’t from his father…Even from afar Austin could see that Nate’s hair was far from Galvin’s!
“He pats me all the time!” Galvin said in a happy manner.
…He is like a life size version of a dog…
“My father doesn’t really show much affection. At least not in front of us.” Austin stated, after a moment of silence. He wasn’t actually that good at making friends, even the people that were reted to him were hard to get along with sometimes.
“Yeah, your father is Christian right? A golden heir?” Galvin asked.
Austin nodded.
“He called me strange.” Galvin stated, looking out yonder but remembering a certain time not too long ago.
Austin smiled again, “It often passes that he thinks people as strange, I assure you that he does not mean to harm you…”
Galvin interrupted him, with raised eyebrows, “Ha! I didn’t take it as an insult, do not worry! It was my real father that once told me that as long as I keep myself true to who I am as a man, everything else doesn’t really matter.”
“Keep true? What do you mean?” Austin asked, clearly curious.
Galvin smiled, “Well, there are ws, which is one line…Then there’s my own line. I know both lines well and I’m happy to stay within them so all that was left was being happy with who I was as a person.”
Austin looked at Galvin in a new light. This person wasn’t as silly as he thought he was, he was just…Trying to make the best of things…
“Do you want to become the next golden emperor?” Austin asked, straight to the point…He really wasn’t sure how Galvin was going to answer.
A serious look came over Galvin and he found himself looking out yonder again, “My father also told me that if we have gifts, we should share them. For some reason I was able to understand and cultivate a little earlier than most and so I found out a few things. The world was full of crazy! The world…Was just full of so much bad things and I didn’t want to see it. The problem was, my father saw how smart I was, how opened to the world I was and so gave me specific ‘chores’ that I had to do…”
Austin nodded his head, having a fair idea on what was going on. “It’s hard to trust humans but if you can help out the unfortunate, it could make you feel a little better about them.”
They looked at each other, Galvin then sighed, “I don’t feel much better though, and that’s why I py up. It’s almost like I purposely want to bring out the worst in people so that I know who is in my presence. Pying with people like that though does not give you friends.”
Austin nodded, “Indeed…”
For a moment they were both silent…What were the chances that they were so simir?
“So, let’s be friends!” Galvin suddenly said, smiling and his seriousness all gone!
