Cyrus strolled to his car. Another day of work was over. He waved to a few coworkers before entering his car and driving away. He worked at a software company, not a big or interesting one, just your typical, average company. He was still low on the ladder, only working for a year, but he enjoyed it enough and made enough money to live on and occasionally buy something extra. He enjoyed trying new hobbies and Cyrus had gained slight proficiency in many things. He liked to box, but his exploits ranged from cooking to sewing. He still hadn't quite found a hobby he truly loved though. Cyrus arrived home and watched some television. He worked out, ate a home-cooked meal, showered, and got ready for bed. It was a routine day, really. But what happened next was far from routine. When he lay down in his twin bed in his small apartment. He suddenly moved. He was in a black space, a void, an abyss. Cyrus felt nothing but his own heartbeat and heard nothing but his own breath. Then a screen appeared.

Once again, he moved. This time he appeared in a clearing with a transparent screen before him. Cyrus’ head filled with thoughts. The system? Earth is gone? Tutorial? He began to panic, wouldn’t most do the same? At least everyone was alive. For now. He attempted to calm himself down and focus on the screen

Once again, he did enjoy boxing so that could be a good option. He didn't exactly like the idea of a mage as they were known to be “squishy” or weak defensively, and that was something he couldn't be. He didn’t know why he was so against it but he decided to let it go and accept that he did not want to be a mage. Cleric was immediately out as it required religion he assumed and was commonly a class for healing, which wouldn't help as much as he was alone. This led Cyrus to decide on Fighter as his starting class. A bag of goods dropped before him and a few screens appeared.

The items were a sword, a shield, a piece of chest armor, a piece of leg armor, some boots, and some gloves. On the right side stood a depiction of himself in what looked like a rotating 3D model with various armor slots surrounding it. He clicked on each of the items.

The creature began running at him, but he was ready. With a swing of his sword and a thought of Power Strike, the creature was cut down.
