Evelina's POV
I walked down the hallways of J High, the one pce I had desperately wanted to avoid. Yet, here I was, a reluctant participant in a story filled with main characters, forced to endure the chaos that would inevitably unfold.
To make matters even worse, I had somehow ended up in the fashion department, otherwise known as the heart of the drama. The pce where the most influential and troublesome characters roamed freely, stirring up events I wanted nothing to do with.
I sighed. The only small comfort in this whole situation was that my brother, Alexei, would be transferring soon. Once he was here, I’d have some level of protection—or at least someone who could intimidate the chaos away with his sheer presence.
Until then, I just had to survive.
I made my way toward the principal’s office to collect my schedule, hoping to get this day over with as painlessly as possible. When I arrived, the office was… empty.
I blinked, looking around. Wasn’t there supposed to be someone here?
Instead, I spotted a single sheet of paper on the desk, my name neatly printed at the top. My schedule. Next to it was a bright yellow sticky note with cheerful handwriting.
"Good luck, new student! :)"
…At least someone was excited about my presence.
I let out a slow breath, my lips quirking into a small smile despite myself. It was oddly endearing. I took the schedule, briefly scanning the subjects before tucking it away.
With nothing left to do, I turned and headed toward my cssroom, determined to quietly settle in and remain as invisible as possible.
==============================
As I approached my cssroom, I noticed a rge crowd gathered near the entrance. People were talking in hushed yet excited voices, their expressions a mix of shock and amusement.
Ah. Right.
This was that scene.
The first major fight between Zack and Daniel.
I had completely forgotten that this happened early in the story. Zack had probably just thrown his punch, and Daniel—being the battle-hardened delinquent protagonist that he was (or so they believed)—had evaded just enough to establish dominance.
I peered into the cssroom and, sure enough, the evidence was clear.
Zack was standing there, looking both furious and humiliated, while Daniel remained cool and unaffected.
Meanwhile, their cssmates were buzzing with excitement, whispering about what had just gone down.
I sighed. 'Unbelievable'.
This was exactly why I didn’t want to be here.
I quickly stepped back, making sure to stay out of sight. There was no way I was walking into that mess until things settled down. Getting involved with main characters was a one-way ticket to chaos, and I valued my peace too much for that.
Instead, I leaned against the wall and crossed my arms, prepared to wait it out. As I did, a sudden thought occurred to me.
'Where the heck is my system?!'
As if waiting for me to acknowledge its absence, a notification suddenly appeared in my mind.
[System Activated!
Welcome, Host! This system exists to assist you in leveling up and checking your status. You can also level up the system by completing quests!]
Oh?
Now it shows up?
I mentally asked what my quests were, and another screen popped up before me.
[Current Quests
- Leave a good impression on 15 students! (30 EXP)
- Leave a good impression on 3 teachers! (45 EXP)
- Have a rexing day! (15 EXP)
- Not get into trouble! (60 EXP)]
I stared at the list.
…That was it?
This was shockingly easy. I had expected something ridiculous like "Befriend the protagonist!" or "Stop the fight between Zack and Daniel!"—things that would force me into the spotlight. But this?
This was manageable.
If I pyed my cards right, I could clear most of these before lunch. All I had to do was smile, act polite, and avoid getting dragged into anything stupid.
Mentally, I asked the system for my status, and another screen appeared.

I blinked.
What kind of protagonist-level skill set is this?!
Why did my predecessor have idol-tier abilities? Was she pnning on taking over every industry?! Martial arts, cooking, singing, acting, dancing, business—was there anything she wasn’t good at?!
Before I could process that, another screen popped up.

I almost choked on air.
Excuse me?!
'Was I… overpowered?!'
No wonder Alexei and my security guards treated me like some priceless treasure. I was essentially an S-tier collectible!
Before I could fully digest my superiority, the crowd finally began to disperse, still murmuring about the fight. Fortunately, no one had noticed me.
'Perfect'.
I adjusted my posture, smoothed down my uniform, and stepped toward the cssroom entrance. A few moments ter, the teacher arrived.
He spotted me instantly and raised a brow.
“You must be the new student.”
I fshed him a polite smile and nodded. “Yes, sir.”
He gave me an appraising look before nodding in approval.
[Ding!]
[? Leave a good impression on 3 teachers! (45 EXP) 1/3]
I resisted the urge to smirk.
That’s right. Keep underestimating me, people.
If this was how the system worked, I was going to grind experience points like a professional.
I had no intention of standing out, but if I could silently farm EXP while maintaining my role as a background character, then so be it.
It was time to level up.
