CH.227 Parasitic Armored Jacket

I woke up in the m, with my girlfriend sleepio me. Ria was getting dressed, so I probably woke up to the sounds from that, as I usually do. Lua oher hand didn’t seem to care, so I just let her sleep for a bit longer, and headed for the factory. It’s just normal for me, and as long as I have Laura keeping an eye on things outside, I should realize when Lua wakes up.

Of course there is a reason I immediately jumped here. I wao run some experiments here before I did them in the real world. If something messes up here, all I’ll lose is the Pack Opener cards I use, but outside, I’ll lose everything. … Okay, that is a bit of an exaggeration. But I might lose my new armor, before I even had a ce to use it in bat.

Now why didn’t I just leave this for Laura to d the night? Well, I feel like I’ve been pushing too many things on her already, so I wao do it myself. And I don’t really get to do these experiments, as they just are something Laura usually does, so I’m holy a bit excited.

First things first, I checked on the ‘real time’ room, or whatever I should call it. Someone, probably Tahlia, had let the bcksmithing fe out of my ste and it was now there. I saw no mohere at the moment, so I assume they are taking a break. … remio reward Kotetsu and Hinotama Soul at some point. I think I’ll do it after they vert Ria’s armor into a better metal. … I’ll also have to reward the vampires. Add that to the list.

I have too many monsters. No one person could ever use them all.

Anyway, I also checked my ste, and saw that some of the iron I bought had been verted into blood iron. Other than that, it doesn’t seem like they had done anything else. The iing part was the quality of the blood iron. When I bought the wrought iron, it was Intermediate+ in quality, but after putting it in ste and using Material Quality Increase, it became High quality. But now, I had Fwless quality blood iron in my ste. Sure some of it is because they likely used dragon blood again. Or the blood from anh ranking monster, so that would help, but I feel like they just used the Material Quality Increase first on the iron, and then again on the blood iron. I know the Material Quality Increase only be used once per item, but at oint has the item ged to the point where it be used again?

Well, back to why I came here. I made a few armor stands with a bination of Dungeon Founder and just Different Dimension Factory shenanigans, and put copies of both my and Ria’s armor ohree of each, just so I had a det sized test. Then I got out a few copies of Metallizing Parasite - Lunatite so I could start.

“... guess I’ll start with one of my own. They should have a higher ce of success, as they have the better materials…” I muttered to myself.

I held a copy of Metallizing Parasite - Lunatite up to one of the copies of my armor and said: “Install.”

I looked as the leather jacket ged. It looked like someone poured clear viscous fluid over it, and the fluid formed hardened into a yer on top of the base leather, making the armor seem… shiny.

  “... it worked, I guess.”

But I still don’t know the differeween the base and this one, so I pced my right hand on the upgraded armor and analyzed it with Dungeon Fouhough I made sure all of the data was only stored in my Ste, instead of beio the dungeon. I don’t want the dungeon making liquid metal parasite armor.

I checked the new info I got.

Armored Crimson Boa Jacket - Parasitic Mithril Metal Is [Defense +400][Magic Resistance - 90% damage reduced][Fire Resistance - 50% damage reduced][Ratack Resistance - 30% damage reduced][Lightened - 30% weight][Durability 3200/3200] [Parasitic - When worn, the wearer will lose 1 HP every five seds.] A leather jacket made from Crimson Boa hide. Because of the hide used, it is naturally fire resistant. It has mithril ptes ied into critical pces to make it more defe has been ented to make it lighter and to improve its resistaed attacks. A metal parasite was ter added to it, making it a parasite armor. While the parasite does offer unparalleled resistao magic, it will also drain away the wearers HP.“... well, that’s something.” I muttered.

A metal parasite jacket. And the effects on it are … I think they are insane. 400 defense is already good, and add to that the three resistances. And I think the resistaack. So if I’m hit by a ranged fire magic spell, it should only have 3.5% of the inal power. Even just ranged magic will have its power cut to 7%.

Now the Parasitic could be a problem, but it shouldn’t. For me, at least. Health scious should pletely e that damage. I think. But there is an easy way to find out.

I pulled the jacket off of the armor stand and put it on. It still felt just as good as it had previously, so this should be fine. But there was clearly something moving inside of the jacket. It felt a bit … strange, but nothing you couldn’t get used to. And for 90% magic resistance, I say it's worth it.

I then installed a Lunatite into the two other copies of my armor, just to make sure the first one was not a fluke. But lucky for me, the other two came out basically the same as this ohere were minor differences between the armors, like 1% more magic resista the cost of the HP drain being every 4 seds instead, or about 200 more durability, at the cost of the magic resistance being lowered by 1%, but they were basically the same.

“Good. It does seem reliable.” I cluded, before moving to Ria’s stuff. “Install.”

After I installed a Metallizing Parasite - Lunatite into one of the copies of Ria’s armor, the metal that had been inside of it seemed to melt, and just began to drip out of the armor. First only a bit, but eventually all of it flowed out, leaving just a slightly damaged jacket behind.

I analyzed it, and it came out as a damaged Crimson Boa jacket. The description told a bit more about the status of it, but the clusion is that it needed some major repair work, and all new metal ptes if you wa to be usable.

I tried awo times, and had two differes. Ohe metal heated so much that it half melted the fire resistant Boa hide, leaving the jacket in a state where you would have no choice but to just scrap it.

The other ohought seemed like a success.

Armored Crimson Boa Jacket - Parasitic Broal Is [Defense +150][Magic Resistance - 35% damage reduced][Fire Resistance - 50% damage reduced][Toughness - 40% durability increase][Lightened - 30% weight][Durability 1960/1960] [Parasitic - When worn, the wearer will lose 1 HP every sed.] A leather jacket made from Crimson Boa hide. Because of the hide used, it is naturally fire resistant. It has thin broes ied all over, to make it more defe has been ented to make it lighter and to improve its durability. A metal parasite was ter added to it, making it a parasite armor. While the parasite does offer resistao magic, it will also drain away the wearers HP.Okay. Well, I’m not sure if that ts as a success. I mean sure it did e out … okay, but at the same time, it really didn’t. First of all, it is a ton weaker than mihe defense is only about 40% of what mine has. The magic resistance is 35% pared to the 90% on mine. And even with the Toughness entment, the durability is also a lot lower. … unless durability affects the speed at which the durability drains, instead of increasing the shown durability, like the Unbreaking entment in Minecraft. Well, either way, it is still less than mine has. And st but certainly not least, the Parasitic is a lot worse. 1 HP every sed, pared to the every five seds, is just bad. Ria has 2060 HP and she could wear it for only 30 minutes. Well, natural HP regeion and healing magic might help, but still. She would o stantly heal herself, or risk the armor literally draining her life away. The only reason something like this would be eveely usable is that it would probably help iing a skill like Fast HP Recovery. Or would it just be Regeion? Well, the name doesn’t really matter.

Of course I always have the choice of installing Spell Eito Ria. That will give her the Health scious skill, so the life drain effect will be ed. … or maybe I install it right on the armor instead. Let’s try it.

I went back to the mithril armors, and picked the oh the 91% magic resistand the 4 sed HP drain. It had the bigger downside for the bigger upside, so if I could prevent the dowhis would be the best of these. And sidering that I already destroyed two of the three bronze armors, I don’t think they could take another install.

I took out a copy of Spell Eid installed it.

  Spoiler

  [colpse]Screech!

Only to hear a terrifying sound ing from the armor. It sounded like metal rubbing against metal and it let out a literal ear screeg sound. I covered my ears out of reflex, but after a few seds, the sound stopped.

I looked at the armor. It looked … fine. No visible damage or anything. I holy thought it was breaking apart sidering the sound, but it seems fine.

I analyzed it to make sure, only to realize just h I was.

Armored Crimson Boa Jacket - Parasitic (dead) Mithril Metal Is [Defense +250][Magic Resistance - 30% damage reduced][Fire Resistance - 50% damage reduced][Ratack Resistance - 30% damage reduced][Lightened - 30% weight][Durability 2700/2700] A leather jacket made from Crimson Boa hide. It has mithril ptes ied into critical pces to make it more defensive. Because of the hide used, it is naturally fire resistant. It has been ented to make it lighter and to improve its resistaed attacks. A metal parasite was ter added to it, and then killed. While some of the parasite's magic resistance remained, a rge portion of it was lost when the parasite died.Yeah. It did get rid of the parasite, but it also basically ruihe armor. Well, not quite but still. 150 drop in defense. Magic Resistance went from 91% to 30%. And the durability decreased by 500. All around, just terrible. Dealing with the life drain effect is much better. At least for me, as the life drain is clearly not affeg me at all.

With my test plete, I cleared the armors away. Now that I had the data on them, I could just recreate them in the factory whenever I wanted. Not that I hem here for anything except experimentation. But what I learoday was that while my armor could support a Metallizing Parasite - Lunatite, Ria’s couldn’t. So we’ll have to at least ge the metal before I install one for her. And at the same time, it might not be worth it, unless I install Spell Eito her.

Then with everything cleared, I returo the real world and waited for Lua to wake up.

“Good m, sleepy head.” I pyfully woke up Lua, by poking her cheek. I had already ged clothes and was ready to go for breakfast.

As to why I had to wake up Lua, well Ria had already returned from her breakfast and had givehe information to prepare for our breakfast as well, so I really had no choice. Even though I did enjoy looking at Lua’s sleeping face.

“.... eh..? where? B-Brian?” Lua said, still clearly half asleep.

“Yes. It is I, Brian.” I joked. “You should wake up now. We o get ready for breakfast.”

“... where? Oh. … We … I …” Lua muttered something, as she seemed to finally realize where she was.

“Yes, we are in the Sawyer manor.” I reminded her, trying t her back to reality.

  “... I see. … I guess it was just a dream then.”

“Oh? Did you have a good dream?” I asked.

“... yes. … I hope I get to see it again.” She said.

I wao ask for more information about it, but I feel like that might not be the best idea. Instead, I gave her the space she o get up a ged.

… I guess this is a good time to mention something about Lua’s Dhampir Princess. Or Princess’s Grace to be precise. It store multiple dresses made by the skill, but it only store one ‘non-dress’ outfit. And in Lua’s case, that was the bination of the t-shirt, jeans and hoodie that I made her. If she wao ge into other ‘casual’ clothes, like nightwear, she would have to do it the normal way. She could likely make herself a night dress, but she hasn’t do yet, so she ’t s her clothes with the skill.

A sed thing worth mentioning is that no one else wear clothes made by Princess’s Grace. Lua remove them just fine, and even store them in things like a magic bag, or I take them into my ste, but no one else actually wear them. I don’t really know why, but Ria did attempt to put on Lua’s mantle, but she just couldn’t. Like there was some sort of a force field blog her from putting it on. The same went for the mace. If someoher than Lua tried to use it, it would hurt them. As in cause literal HP damage to you, as well as plenty of pain. Sure I could e the HP damage, Health scious, but I couldn’t e the pain it inflicted. Not quite Thor’s hammer, but still an effective anti-use measure.

But it might still be useful if she could hand it over to someone else without the on hurting them. I wonder if something like the sve tract I have with Ria would prevent the damage. After all, for my cards, Ria is ted as ‘mine’. Aka. cards that only affect my oppo, don’t affect Ria. Some sort of a system tract does seem to be necessary for it, so maybe. … If I get officially eo Lua, will she t as being ‘mine’? I guess one way to find out, but let’s not rush into that. There might be a way more simple of an answer for what happened.

  I left the room and stood in the corridor, so that Lua could ge in peabsp;
