The day started like any other day, it was sunny and a crisp 90F with a slight chance of clouds at some point. Luckily, James was sitting in his office chair looking at the same event logs repeatedly to figure out where it happened and how the latest cyber-attack happened. The screen began to flicker randomly "shit, don't die on me now girl we gotta figure this out." James quietly exclaimed while gently petting his laptop, He had found treating technology gently worked better than beating in anger or frustration over the years. In the end, it had no help and the screen shut off, and suddenly blue light filled his eyesight and what seemed to be a command prompt appeared on his face.

He quickly stood up and began to walk around the IT room trying every computer and checking every power source, nothing was working, and this was already becoming like one of his nightmares. A world without technology. I must've died and gone to Hell. He thought to himself as he sat back down in his chair and checked the status bar on his command prompt. Then sounds like a cheap confetti blaster went off and a new prompt showed up.
James was astonished, and for once in his life, he couldn't make sense of the world. Why had he been chosen for this important role? On a good day, he was barely competent as a tier-one analyst. He stopped thinking, He was spiraling again, and he needed to concentrate on the issue at hand. He was in charge of the Earth's wildlife, and he had no idea how to get around to it. He continued to think for a moment before all he heard was a loud boom outside, and immediately he shot up and ran over to the giant glass window.
What he saw was straight out of a high-budget action film, the city was on fire, and chaos seemed to ensue outside the building. It seemed like all technology had been wiped out and that seemed to apply to all modes of modern transportation. A plane had slammed down into the middle of the city and cars had seemed to have lost control of their brakes. I guess Y2K was right after all. He joked to himself in his dark sense of humor and found that He was feeling strangely calm. He pulled away from the window after a minute or two and sat back down in his office chair. His mind quickly reactivated, and he began to think again If this is like a video game I have a stat sheet right, but what was the command to call the system? ah yes. "Open system menu." The blue box appeared again and listed off the different categories he could go through. From top to bottom he read out loud "Help, Status, Gacha, and Familiars." He selected status immediately, but the gacha caught his attention. The Blue box appeared again.

The system made enough sense to him, but he needed to decide what to do and the only way he figured to do that is by a coin flip. Heads for the first gacha being an animal gacha, and tails for the first gacha being an equipment gacha. He flicked the coin in the air and watched it before it came down. When it landed the face of an old president pointed upwards.
