Even Cra was surprised by this quick attack, but as soon as she dodged, she found out that the other hunter didn't miss like the first, and his sword entered her back, piercing through her insides as Cra's clothes caught abze.
Cra didn't understand what happened until she felt that the second hunter appeared behind her. His presence was completely concealed. Being completely hidden was something new, which Cra had never experienced before.
As she tried to wrap her mind around this surprise, Matteo di Sancti took the opportunity, and let Isabel’s limp body fall to the ground, he yanked the dagger from her body and advanced to finish Cra.
Amid the chaos, Antonio managed to free himself from the priests, who were more concerned about the fire that already raged through the alley, managing to go to the buildings around.
As they stopped paying attention to Antonio, who was helped by the priests to escape, before Matteo got close to Cra, Antonio rammed into him, forcing them both into the mud.
Antonio was beaten to the pulp by the hunters, but they didn't bother to search him, and as he managed to stop Matteo from killing Cra, Antonio pulled sharp needle from his belt which penetrative though Matteo's robes without any effort The strike didn’t cause serious harm, but it stalled Matteo long enough for Cra to regain her focus.
She felt heavy from being exposed to the sun the whole time without any way to hide completely, but a sudden attack from the hunter was too much.
"STOP!" Cra shouted with all her might, and as she ordered them, everyone instinctively stopped doing what they were doing at the same time.
After using vampire magic once again, Cra felt pleased that it worked on the hunters. In this moment of complete stillness, Cra's hand stuck a hunter's, which missed her, and her hand gently stuck his neck, ripping it apart from his torso.
Everyone froze, the hunters included, as her magic took hold. In that moment of stillness, Cra’s hand darted toward the first hunter. Her fingers cmped around his neck, and with a sickening crack, she tore his head from his torso. His specialized armor, far superior to anything royals could acquire, was useless against her raw power.
Even with their enhanced abilities, the hunters were no match for Cra’s vampiric will. She tried to pull the sword from her back, but the second hunter’s strike had driven it deep, and she only managed to stumble away from him, wincing as the silver burned her flesh.
“Do you think that you can win a vampire? Others already arrived in the city, once they arrive here, you will have no chance to escape.”
Cra finally pulled the sword from her back and as she was looking at it, she was surprised. Unlike the crude weapons of the priests, this bde was lightweight, forged with silver and an unfamiliar craftsmanship she’d never encountered. It was a weapon designed to kill not only vampires, but to be a versatile weapon.
Looking at the weapon, Cra could feel that the weapon was not only made of silver and was much better than other weapons.
“I’ve met hunters before, but they were fools compared to you,” Cra sneered, her voice dripping with disdain. “Who would be stupid enough to fight with me in a burning house and think they’d survive?”
The heat from the fire and the sun intensified, pressing down on Cra like a vice. She swung the hunter’s sword a few times, testing its weight, her movements sluggish but deliberate. The second hunter ignored her taunt, pulling two daggers from beneath his cloak. Sweat beaded on his brow, but his expression remained emotionless, his focus unshaken.
“Tell me hunter. Your high priest will not be able to survive, if he does not get healed soon. Why don’t you save him and we will be on our way in the meantime?”
Cra didn’t know exactly how they were working and if the hunter would try to save Matteo or not, but Isabel was currently the only one who was in very bad condition, and if she did not get healed, she would soon die.
“Stop dreaming. You will die by my hands right now and burn in hell for your sins.”
Hunter didn’t though even for a second as he rushed forward Cra, who was just a little faster than him, but his instincts were honed to extreme degree that he was able to predict Cra’s attacks thanks to reading her movement and despite cshing with each other and him only having daggers against the sword, he was holding his ground.
As Cra tried to cut down the hunter, she was not able to do so and felt that staying here even a second longer would only worsen the situation. At the same time, Matteo and Antonio were fighting not far away from them, but as a high priest hunter, he was still able to pacify Antonio with ease despite being injured.
Just as he nearly cracks open Antonio’s skull against the ground, he looked at how the situation was, but as he saw that Cra was not far away from him, he tried to stab Cra in the back.
Both hunter and him surrounded Cra from both sides, and as hunter was waiting for the Matteo to initiate the attack, a sword whistled through the air, sshing Matteo across the chest. Cra swings the sword with such speed that Matteo didn’t even notice that he was hit, until he saw that Cra moved behind him to Isabel.
Only then did he feel that something was not right, and as he saw that the hunter, who had been until now fighting with Cra, felt helpless, as he was not able to kill Cra, and now even lost the upper hand, and let the high priest nearly get killed.
Cra grabbed Matteo’s hand and tossed him into the burning fire which no one expected. As soon as Cra sent Matteo into the fire, Hunter didn’t hesitate even for a second and went into the fire to save him.
At the same time, she scooped Isabe from the ground, and she and Antonio, who managed to survive somehow, also tried to stand up. Despite his face being beaten up into blood pulp, he was slowly walking to them.
