Inside the cave, the party are navigating their way to the treasure. Shokei walks up behind Rei this time as she stays close.
"How far do we have to go to reach that treasure?" asked Saeko.
"It's going to be a long walk." Rei replied. "We need to keep going until we get there."
"So much walking..." Marie compined. "Are we there yet?"
"Ask again or I'll kick your ass." Rei warned her.
Marie gulped and widened her eyes.
The party continues further to the long passageway. Soon, they have finally reached their destination point and at st, they found an area full of treasure. The area consists of big piles of coins, jewelry, and treasure boxes scattered around the area.
"Wow..." Marie said in awe of all the treasure.
"So many treasure boxes..." Tamiko said.
"Lots of them." added Beatrice.
"We're so rich!" Marie said of excitement. "Can we really cim all of this?"
"Don't be so sure." Rei told her. "All the loot here is great, but are you forgetting something?"
"What's that?" asked Marie.
"One, is to find that artifact, hidden in one of these treasure boxes." Rei said. "The other is that individual, or some group, wants this treasure more than any of us."
"Hmm..." Shokei looks around. "It looks untouched...but I can't tell if they have stepped foot here."
"We need to proceed with caution." Rei tells everyone. "Just hoping that there's no traps that would kill one of us. As for this artifact, if I recall, its ancient like a relic of some sort. Take whatever you can here but just be careful. Split up people."
The party splits as they explore around the treasure room. During their time, Shokei is busy scavenging for treasure boxes. Some that she has opened were empty. Her other allies were trying to find the treasure that Rei was searching, but Saeko managed to avoid a treasure that was a trap, which nearly exploded in her face.
"I should've known." Rei said, viewing the exploded treasure box. "Some bastard is trying to kill us."
"I saw my life fshed between my eyes!" Saeko said, feeling calm as she's alive in one piece.
"Just be careful! You'll never know what tricks the enemy might have next?"
Shokei looks back to see the others opening and looking around the piles of treasures around them. While looking, something caught her eye. There, Shokei sees a mysterious small box. She walks over to that treasure box and examines it. This treasure box appears to be made of silver with weird symbols carved around it.
Strange...I never seen a treasure box like this... thought Shokei. The symbols look ancient. Could this be the treasure Rei was looking for?
Having some thought, Shokei feels the box and inspects it. This treasure box did not appear to be a trap as there is nothing on it that would trigger. The box appears to be safe to open and then she opens the box. Inside the box appears to be a star medallion. Shokei takes the medallion out of the box and looks closely at the item. This medallion has a star shaped symbol with eight small circles.
Oooh, looks pretty..., Shokei thought. Hmm, is it safe?
Shokei stares at the medallion and decided to keep it. From there, she continues to look for the hidden treasure.
"Hey guys! I think I found something!"
Shokei heads Saeko's voice from a short distance. She heads over to where Saeko is and so did the others. The group gathered and Rei steps closer to see that Saeko has already found her treasure.
"Here it is!" Saeko told Rei, showing her the treasure box.
"Heh! This is it! The treasure should be inside. It will be ours for the taking!" Rei said in excitement. "Don't keep me waiting, open it!"
Saeko did and opens the treasure box. Once the box was open, the party looks on what was inside the big treasure box. Unfortunately, there was no treasure inside the box.
"Huh?!" Rei asked with a confused look. "Where the treasure?!"
"It's not there..." replied Marie.
"Seriously? This is some joke, right?" asked Kichiro.
"I know that this treasure would be here." Rei said, tightening her fists. "You don't think that someone..."
"Huh?"
Out of nowhere, ughter came inside the treasure room that echoed the cave. The party became alert that there is someone else inside.
"Fools! That treasure you were dying to search WAS in there!" a voice speaks out to the group.
The party looks up on the top pile of treasure to see a mysterious girl making her appearance. Her attire is a thief in a blue outfit.
"Who the hell are you?!" Rei shouted at her. "Identify yourself!!"
"The names Lucreita! Bandit specialist and bounty treasure hunter." The girl introduced to the party.
"Where's the treasure that was in the box?" Shokei asked her. "What did you do to it?"
Lucreita reveals the treasure she has in her hand. Rei saw the treasure in her hand, and she was triggered.
"Bitch, give me back my treasure!" Rei demanded.
"That won't be necessary." Lucreita shakes her head. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. You're too te, for as you can see that I found the treasure first before you did. Should you try to stop me, I'll be going..."
"The hell you aren't!!" Rei angrily said. She pounds her fists together and is looking for a fight. "I'll get my hands on that treasure, even if I beat it out of you!"
"Really?" Lucreita raised her eyebrow.
Lucreita gave a whistling signal and out came a group of thieves surrounding the party. Shokei and the others see the bandits brandishing out their swords.
"Being angry over a precious treasure are ya?" Lucreita asked. "You want this treasure tommy boy? You're gonna have to earn it..." she unsheathed her sword. "...if you dare."
"With pleasure..." Rei said, putting up her fists.
Shokei and the others also get their weapons out and fought against Lucreita and her bandit of thieves. The fight against Lucreita was put into action as the party takes care of the thieves first. Rei, however, focused her target on Lucreita as she dodges a bandit's attack and quickly grabbed him and throw him against another bandit. Lucreita sees her coming and she is quick on her feet to avoid being hit by her.
Shokei sees Lucreita nding right behind her and then the enemy takes a shot at her from behind.
"En garde!"
With her Lohengrin Sword in hand, Shokei clings her sword against Lucreita's. Shokei kicks her away and quickly goes for a swinging strike. The strike made Lucreita defends her sword once again, but she was caught off guard when Rei quickly slides for a kick. The kick nails Lucreita in the pelvis and Lucreita felt struck in the area, stepping back. She was caught off guard again, as Rei builds energy in her fist. With enough energy, Rei used her monk technique, Grand Punch, sending a wave into the enemy's face and sending Lucreita flying in mid-air. Losing her grip on the treasure, Rei takes the treasure right in her hands.
"Gotcha!" Rei said, smiling as she got the treasure in her hand.
"Hold on!" Shokei advised her. "She's coming back for it."
"That's alright. We still got this." Rei puts the treasure away in her pocket and nds a punch on the bandit near her. "We just need to defeat her and her cronies."
Lucreita is coming out of the small water, and she is furious when she felt her face. With rage, she grips her sword and charges at Rei at full force. Quickly, Rei saw her coming and gets in her defensive stance. Shokei acts and blocks her offense, cshing her sword against hers. Both pressed between their swords at each other until Lucreita counters with a kick in Shokei's abdomen. Shokei falls back on the floor, which gave Rei an opportunity to get close to her enemy. With a grab, Rei threw Lucreita with a judo throw, tossing her to the cave's wall and then falling down face ft on the pile of coins. Shokei gets up and sees that the enemy has been taken down from Rei's throwing technique.
"Heh, piece of cake." Rei said, csped her hands.
Shokei looks to see how the other party members are handing the bandits. The party are making mincemeat out of the bandits as some of them are killed by magic, thanks to Sadako. The other bandits retreated when they felt overpowered. Lucreita gets up slowly from being hurt by the wall. Once she got back on her feet, she can see that she was surrounded by Rei and her party. The party was ready to strike at her and Lucreita can see she's been outnumbered.
"Grrrrh!!" Lucreita grunted in defeat. "I won't face defeat by any of you! You can keep the treasure, but next time we meet, I'll will get my revenge on all of you. Just you wait!"
Saying that, Lucreita takes out a smokescreen bomb and smmed it on the ground. The smoke emerged a thick bck substance that made the party be engulfed in. In a few minutes, the smoke disappears and Lucreita has vanished from the cave. The fight ended once the thief and her bandits were no more. The party felt relieved that it was over for now.
"Finally, I have the treasure that I was looking for." Rei said, taking the treasure out and holding it in excitement.
The treasure appeared to be a small ring, made of silver.
"That's it? That's the treasure?" Marie asked.
"It sure looks like it." Sadako replied.
"Interesting." Kichiro added.
"It's just a ring..." Saeko eyes on the treasure. "Hmm, moon shaped to be exact."
"This ring..." Rei tells everyone. "It is the Ring of the Tsukuyomi. This ring looks ancient, but I can't tell what it does or do."
"You should wear it." Sadako suggested.
"Maybe...let's see." Rei tries on the ring. "Hmm, the ring fits perfectly."
"Just a normal ring, but what value does it have?" Marie asked.
"If we head back, we can find someone who might know what this ring is capable of." Kichiro said.
"True, but...it's just a normal ring..." Marie pondered.
"Anyways, we are done here!" Rei said to everyone. "Whatever you need in this treasure room, be sure to grab it. In a few minutes, we're heading back to the ship."
"Actually, were good to go since we already found what we were looking for." Sadako said.
"Great! Then let's go." Rei said happily.
Later in the evening, Rei's ship is back out at sea. Shokei, Rei, and everyone else are celebrating their victory after a successful mission on finding the treasure. The party is celebrating with fresh food they found on the isnd, along with whiskeys and martinis. Saeko, however, is steering the ship as she did not partake in drinking. The victory party was high, to the point that some of the party members were drunk.
Soon, the party tucked in bed. Shokei, however, was awake at that time and she decides to check outside of the ship. Shokei checks out the sea at the main deck. The moon illuminates out in the dark watery oceans. She can barely see nd as the trip back to Malluraea will take some time to reach ashore.
"Hey."
Shokei thoughts were disrupted, and she turns to see who was calling out to her. Rei approaches up to her and stands next to her.
"You're still awake?" Rei asked.
Shokei nodded.
"I see." said Rei.
"I'm just looking out at the ocean." Shokei said to her. "I'm not sleepy yet."
"That's ok." Rei nodded. "Same here."
Together, the two girls stare out at the ocean.
"How you enjoy this treasure hunt Shokei?" Rei asked her.
"Oh that...It was quite an experience." Shokei replied.
"Of course, it is." Rei said. "And to think I was about to cim this treasure all by myself, I knew I could not have done it without your help."
"It's no problem, Rei. Then again, we were able to cim a lot of Gnacaro from the treasure loot." Shokei said.
"Yep. We should have enough to keep us going." Rei said. "Rich amount of mooh, but we did divide it among ourselves."
"What are you pnning with all that money?" Shokei asked her.
"A bigger ship?" Rei joked. "Heh heh! Then again, I have no idea."
Rei then looks at the ring she cimed in her hand.
"Hmm?"
The ring emitted a shining glow as soon as the moon connects. The shine gave a soft glow on the ring.
"What the?" Rei looks at her ring. "It shines brightly."
"What could it be?" asked Shokei.
"I dunno, but..." Rei tries to take the ring off, but it was stuck on her finger. "Dang it! I can't take it off!"
"Umm...let's see what happens..." Shokei tells her.
The girls waited for two minutes. Unfortunately, the ring just shined on her finger. No sign of effect.
"Nothing." Rei said, scratching her head. "I can't take this ring off of me for some reason."
"No?" Shokei looks up at her. "I thought this ring was valuable."
"That's what I was thinking." Rei said. "I tried pulling it off, but it won't leave my finger for some reason. What could it be?"
"That's odd." Shokei said, pcing her hand on her chin.
"Anyways, it's not doing anything to me, but we can be sure that this ring looks ancient." Rei said.
"Just as long it's not cursed." Shokei said. "I don't want something bad to happen to you."
"No worries..." Rei said to her.
Shokei and Rei continue to stare out at the ocean for a little while. Then, silence break.
"It's been a really long day." Shokei said, now feeling tired.
"Tell me about it." Rei said, yawning. "This journey made my legs tired from all that walking.
Shokei sighed and takes a breath. She turns to face Rei and said, "I got to ask you something."
"What's that?" asked Rei, turned to look at her.
"Did you find someone new yet?" Shokei asked.
"Not yet..." Rei replied and looked down to the side. "Why did you ask?"
"I...well, just curious..." Shokei said, slightly nervous on asking her such a question.
Rei looks at Shokei for a minute.
"I was curious." Shokei said to her. "Because I have been doing some thinking tely."
"Like what?" Rei asked.
"I'll say this, just to get off my chest." Shokei said.
"Go ahead, I'm listening." Rei pleaded.
"Ok, here goes." Shokei takes a breath and expined. "Maybe I'm not good enough to be with someone that would suit my needs. I mean, that past retionship that I had with that one guy...in which I thought he and I were perfect, just wasn't my type. I'll tell you one thing. My heart felt broken inside too much...and I'm seeing that retionships can go from bad to worse. Sometimes I feel that falling for someone would hurt me in a way that I feel uncomfortable and unsafe."
"...really?" Rei said, blinking. "I mean, not retionships are all like that. Sure, someone can be shady, but not entirely everyone. Only when someone show their true colors in front of you, whenever he can be spicy or just some perv trying to get at you for looks. Trust me, I know someone went through that before."
"Then again, I'm just someone that looks weird, unwanted, or some yet another dull girl..." Shokei said, looking down.
"Oh, come on! Stop compining." Rei tells her. She breathes for a second. "Why are you saying all these things? What are you trying to tell me?"
"I just want to let you know..." Shokei pauses and thinks for a minute. "That I'm giving up on retionships...for good." She said it with confidence.
"Are you sure about that?" Rei asked. "I mean, if that's your choice, I'm with you all the way."
"Of course... I mean, yes." Shokei replied. "I've been thinking long and hard about this and I won't turn back on my decision."
Rei looks at her for a minute. Then, she goes up to her and embraces her with a hug. Shokei felt Rei hugging her and accepts it.
"Oh Shokei..." Rei said with a smile. "I'm proud of your decision."
"...y-you are?" Shokei asked and gets her attention, looking at her.
"Of course, I am." Rei replied.
"...thank you..." Shokei responded with a smile. "I...I don't know what to say..."
"Shh!" Rei hushed her. "No need to say anything else. If I'm here, I support you all the way."
Shokei hears this and she nodded.
"Anyways, it's getting te." Rei tells her and let's go of the hug. "We need rest."
"Right." Shokei agreed. She follows Rei inside the deck to get some sleep.
