The Apology

  Found in a tree’s bark

  —----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whoever reads this, I beg for forgiveness.

I ask forgiveness for what is to come—

  Of the End.

I have helped in the birth of a demon.

  No, not a demon...

  A God.

But it is not my fault.

It never is, and never will be—

Yet still, I ask for forgiveness.

Born was I with a gift,

Destiny could I view in all.

Acclaimed I became, revered was I,

  Forging alliances with my sight—

  All in prosperity.

Once was I called for a foresight,

  And view I did—

  The destiny of a monster.

  That foresight, drowned in tragedy.

Banished, but spared by the father,

I lived a renegade from then.

In disgust, people called my name.

Few more times did I foresee—

Yet of their state, I know not.

  Then, once, I met Him.

I saw Him, and realised my purpose.

  He granted me my sight—

But not the one I had met before.

  Similar, yet different,

He would lead to the End.

  A horrifying End.

Yet, obliged was I to help Him.

I gave Him the path, and He advanced.

  Now, as I write this,

I can feel the approaching blood,

  Wafting to my nose.

In the Boundless Sea, shall I drown eternally.

  Forgive me.

  Forgive me.

  Forgive me.
