Chater 4 - The Expedition 2

Enzo said, "W-why is that Goblin King red?"

Talens replied, "It's an alter. My brother once told me that 20 years ago, a red Goblin King spawned, wreaking havoc in the dungeon. It's said the Goblin King was 3x times stronger than usual. Even level 7 adventurers had a hard time dealing with it."

Erron arrogantly said, "I couldn't care less. I'm going to slay that monster." He broke out of the circle formation, pulled his sword, and ran toward the goblins encircling them. The goblins flew and died from just him swinging his huge sword. He managed to carve a path toward the Goblin King, with Talens following closely behind.

Because of Erron's actions, the goblins that had been encircling them attacked, swarming and endangering the lives of the adventurers.

  "Occurrence on the north flank!"

The goblins around them scattered, but Liam couldn’t tear his eyes away from Enzo, whose body was engulfed in a red aura.

A nearby warrior gasped, “What... What was that? It’s like he’s glowing.”

Liam’s gaze hardened. “Berserker Rage... it’s more dangerous than it looks.” He grins, a mixture of awe and caution in his voice. “If he loses his control, we’re all in trouble.”

The tension between admiration and fear was sensible. Liam knew firsthand how destructive an uncontrolled Berserker could be—he just hoped Enzo wasn’t about to find it out the hard way.

Enzo swung his sword, severing through goblin after another, each strike fuelled by a surge of adrenaline. But it wasn’t just the angered that kept him going—it was the wanting to prove something.

His hands trembling, not from fear, but from the sheer force of the rage coursing through him. I won’t be weak anymore. I won’t let anyone down.

He barely registered Liam’s voice cutting through the chaos. “We can’t let the kid have all the fun, right, Rowan?”

Rowan nodded, watching Enzo’s wild assault. “Let him enjoy himself. But when he’s done, we finish this.”

Liam unleashed his skill, “Windy Lance,” and a fierce gust of wind sliced through the goblins, sending them flying in all directions. He barely had time to watch before Rowan struck the ground with his fist, sending shockwaves through the earth. The ground cracked open beneath the goblins' feet.

Rowan wiped sweat from his brow as the debris settled. “Clear the way. Now’s your chance,” he said, his voice tight. The mages immediately took the opening, firing spell after spell into the mass of goblins.

Liam spotted a young boy in the chaos and shouted, “Hey! Kid, what’s your name?”

Jonas, breathless, barely managed to shout, “Jonas, Sir!”

Liam smirked. “Jonas, huh? No time for formalities. When you get the chance, tell Kasin and Lè Yáng Hán to join the north side. We’re going after the Goblin King soon.”

Jonas hesitated, wide-eyed. “Y-yes, sir!” He darted off, a little too eager to get away from the warrior’s demanding gaze.

  "Occurrence on the West flank!"

Lè Yáng Hán’s blade glinted in the sunlight as she took a stance. She whispered something under her breath, and suddenly, petals—no, blades—of shimmering pink light fluttered from her sword.

The goblins in front of her faltered as the petals exploded into a flurry of razor-sharp force, slicing through their ranks like butter.

A nearby adventurer blinked, eyes wide. “What in the world…? What are those petals?”

Lè Yáng Hán smiled faintly as her blade swept through the air, each strike a perfect extension of her will. "It’s just a bit of my magic," she said softly, though her gaze remained fixed on the enemy. "Blossom Blade Release."

Lè Yáng Hán spoke, "Thankfully, I arrived at the scene at the right time," showing a smile.

Lè Yáng Hán captivated the eyes of the adventurers, not only with her looks but also with her skills.

Jonas arrived at the west while catching his breath. He saw Lè Yáng Hán and told her about what Liam said, "Lè Yáng Hán, Sir Liam said that when you finish your battle, go to the north and join the attack on the Goblin King."

Lè Yáng Hán smiled, a small curve of her lips that softened the intensity in her eyes. “Sure, I’ll go. Stay here and rest,” she said, her tone light but with an underlying seriousness.

Jonas, heart racing, fumbled with his words. He wasn’t used to talking to someone as powerful as Lè Yáng Hán, let alone receiving a smile from her. “Y-yes, I will... Sir Liam also said to tell Kasin to join the north side when he finishes.”

Lè Yáng Hán replied, "Don't worry. I'll find someone to send the message." Lè Yáng Hán saw a boy from Kasin’s faction and called him, "Boy, come here! You're Yosef, right? Tell Kasin to join the attack on the Goblin King after he finishes his fight."

  Yosef nodded.

"Occurrences on the south and east flanks!"

"Meanwhile, on the south and east flank, Kasin surveyed the battlefield as the goblins attacked them from the left and right."

Kasin stood from a huge rock shouted, "Healers, buff the vanguards! Mages, prepare your spells!" The vanguards and mages were killing the goblins effortlessly, but they couldn’t keep up with the goblins' numbers. For every goblin that died, another was ready to take its place.

The battle raged around Kasin, but his mind was focused, intent on his next move. He swung his sword once, then again, concentrating as the enemy closed in. He knew he didn’t have much time.

“Buy me some time,” he shouted, his voice barely above the roar of battle. “I need to imbue my sword!”

The vanguards and mages nodded without hesitation, quickly forming a protective ring around him. Goblins swarmed, the others kept them at bay, their swords flashing with precision.

Kasin closed his eyes for a brief moment, sensing the flow of mana. channelling to his sword, the sword began to glow blue.

he opened his eyes his sword was ready "Now its ready" with a calm voice Kasin said "Everyone, let me take care of the rest"

Kasin cast a spell: Dragonis Animus, Evoco!

Kasin swung his sword with a roar of fury, and as the blade cut through the air, flames burst from its tip. The fire erupted like a violent storm, consuming everything in its path.

Yosef arrived at the scene, seeing the place barely holding up against the destruction. He walked around, searching for Kasin.

Kasin spoke, "Yosef, what are you doing here on our flanks?"

Yosef replied, "I was ordered to deliver a message for you. After you finish the fight here, go and join the attack on the Goblin King."

Kasin stood up from a huge rock and shouted, "Everyone that can still fight, come with me and join the attack on the Goblin King!"

  "Aye, sir!"

  "Yes, sir!"

  "We're ready, sir!"

  "Alright, let's move," Kasin said.
