Nothing

Void, darkness, or emptiness. These are the ways someone can describe a place outside of regular physical laws. Nothing is being born and nothing dies, time does not flow, and space does not exist as nothing is real or false. While the contradiction is present something still forms inside this place.

  Dreams.

While the world is empty, a body can be seen floating in the sea of blackness. You could say it is not alive, but at the same time it is not dead either.

  Contradiction.

As the body moved in the void, a transparent sphere engulfed it, making it travel in a particular direction. As this happened, the conscience inside the body started to wake up.

After an unknown amount of time, it arrived. A tall, cloaked figure was slowly analyzing the body.

"W-what is this? Who are you? Where am I?" It was Darin. Scared, he was waiting for a response, but nothing came back.

The figure came closer to him and lifted an arm towards him. Suddenly from his head, a speck of dust came out which was brought in front of the persons hands which cupped it. Turning around, a few mumbling words came out of his mouth, and he threw it in the space surrounding them.

"Why are you here? Everyone should be in the training area by now." A raspy old voice resounded. As the echoing words reached Darin's ears answers were not getting out.

"I am just a memory. Something left in place that will watch over the unfolding of my last selfless act." The cloaked figure turned its back at him, and images started to unfold in front of them.

A phone call. Observed but not picked up. A death happening but no one stopping. A funeral attended but not mourned. Dark thoughts started draining the images of color.

  "Regret, shame, fury…"

As the figure was watching the scenes as if looking for something, Darin was speechless. The images in front of them was his life. Things he never wanted to remember. Thoughts that were haunting his everyday moments.

He could still feel his body even though he was not able to move it. His eyes were red, as tears were rolling down his face, while his hearth was aching from pain.

The figure glanced at him for a couple of seconds, waving his hand making the memories disappear. He got closer to Darin studying him.

"So, this is why…" the figure continued while Darin's body started to give a faint white glow.

"She left pieces of herself in the pain of her children…" A deep feeling of longing filled his voice.

"Too late… At least I was able to feel your presence one more time…" The void was filled with sadness as the two figures standing there were reverberating the same feeling.

The figure attention turned back to Darin. His body started to feel a subtle push as he was being forced back by the presence, but he could still hear its words:
