Chapter 27: The Beginning of The War (1)

  The Arena of The Elements

On his way back to his quarter from his training room, Ryan saw many students and Guardians, who lived in The Arena, walking back and forth in The Arena corridors carrying their respective weapons.

He wondered what was happening, and walked slowly, trying to listen to what the students were talking about along the corridor.

"There are five gates! They're big too."

"Which devil can open that many?"

"Luckily the gate opened without attacking directly, so each government could quickly evacuate."

Ryan choked, Gate again? Five? He walked with complicated thoughts.

He happened to bump into Ayush, who immediately bowed to him. Ryan approached Ayush and asked worriedly, "What's happening?"

Ayush replied, "There were five gates that appeared in five major cities of the world this afternoon. We all need to prepare for what is coming."

"You mean we're going to war?" Ryan was shocked.

  "Yes. Now excuse me, Ryan."

"Wait! I will join you all," Ryan held Ayush's shoulder.

Ayush immediately replied, "Oh, no, you can't. You have to stay here."

  "But…"

Ayush immediately bowed and then immediately joined the Guardians who were starting to gather in the middle of The Arena.

Ryan walked back to his room. It was empty, because Fenrir was gone who knows where.

He felt uneasy upon hearing the news, and sat down beside her bed.

'They're all going to war, and I can't do anything,'

He clasped his hands in his lap and looked down. Knock! Knock!

There was a knock on his door.

  "Come in," Ryan said.

Jiali and Rohan immediately went into Ryan's room. They saw Ryan sitting and his expression was gloomy.

They exchanged glances, then sat on either side of him.

"Ryan, are you okay?" Jiali asked as she held Ryan's shoulder.

"No, I am not," Ryan replied. "They will go to war but I will stay here."

"We're all here," Rohan said. "I've been itching to join the war. Ever since we were little, we've just been training and training, and it's rare to get a chance like this."

  "Rohan!" Jiali glared at him.

  "Tch." Rohan clicked his tongue.

"We will leave in time. The Guardians are also everywhere. They are much stronger than the current us," Jiali tried to reassure.

"You know, sometimes I feel useless. Why was I chosen to be the Emperor when I can't do anything, even I have to be protected like this." Ryan covered his face with both of his hands.

Jiali and Rohan exchanged glances again.

  The Council of Twelve

Aion, who has the ability to see everything that happens in the world, past, present, and future, suddenly said, "Five Gates, five cities, five countries. Happening right now."

The other gods and goddesses turned to him.

Zurvan, Manu, and Ananke also suddenly took turns saying, "Thousands of Oni. Thousands of Harpies."

All the other gods and goddesses present at the meeting place stood up.

"We have to send the Guardians to those Gates."

"Fenrir, you better stay with Ryan!" Aion shouted at Fenrir.

Fenrir nodded, and he left the meeting venue by jumping to his own shadow.

They immediately sent their voice messages through their minds, directly to all the generals of the Guardians on earth.

The Timestream, The Guardians of Time's Headquarters

The generals of the Guardians, after hearing the message of the gods and goddesses, immediately ordered their subordinates to immediately go to the Gate closest to where they were.

Around two thousand five hundred Guardians were deployed to all Gates, so each Gate will be handled by five hundred Guardians.

Several bolts of lightning began to strike the buildings closest to each Gate, nearly hitting the drones of the TV stations that were broadcasting the live broadcast.

Everyone watching live on TV was terrified. Fortunately, all the residents in the cities where the Gate was located had been evacuated.

War jets were ready to take off, hundreds of cannons and tanks were on standby in the streets of the Gate area.

Hundreds of military soldiers were ready, with their commanders shouting loudly using loudspeakers.

  Krieekkk! Krieekkk!

The sound of enormous beasts was heard from the sky.

All the soldiers looked up, looking towards the Gate, but there was nothing in the sky except a black circle with lightning flashing.

They looked around and several large, winged creatures began to appear out of thin air.

  Wyverns and Dragons!

They had never seen these mythical creatures in their entire lives.

The people watching live on TV gaped.

The soldiers thought the enemy had attacked, and pointed their weapons at the Wyverns and Dragons.

"Hold your fire! Hold your fire!" All the commanders shouted after hearing something from their communication devices.

  "They are allies!"

All the soldiers then lower their weapons.

Not long after, people in sky blue robes or jackets appeared one by one out of thin air.

The soldiers were stunned and they started cheering. They didn't even bother to question why all of these people and creatures could emerged from thin air. The sense of relieved overwhelmed them.

Not long after, hundreds of people dressed in sky blue filled the area beneath each Gate, facing away from the military soldiers of each country.

Dozens of Wyverns and Dragons flew in the skies of the five cities, ridden by blue-clothed men and women holding bows.

The Gates began to emit lightning that struck the ground. The roads were riddled with holes after being struck by lightning. The rubble of buildings that strucked, fell to the ground.

  "Look!" a soldier shouted.

All the soldiers and hundreds of millions of people watching the live broadcast from TV stations gasped.

There were hundreds of large bird-like winged creatures with human bodies emerged from within the Gate, each of them carrying fat creatures colored red, green, and blue.

One of the drones approaches the creatures, and the audience recognizes the strangely shaped creatures.

  Harpies!

  Oni!

  Crack!

The drone that was approaching the creatures was destroyed by a bolt of lightning that came from the hand of one of the red-bodied Oni.

When they were close to the ground, the Harpies released the Oni, and the Oni landed on the ground causing vibrations on the ground and a loud thud.

The soldiers watched everything that was happening before them with tension.

The Guardians watched the Harpies and Oni drew their weapons. The Wyverns and Dragons let out deafening roars.

The Oni stepped forward, the Harpies began to fly lower. They let out loud screams.

And as if commanded from a distance, the Guardians, Wyverns, and Dragons, advanced in unison to attack the Harpies and Oni.

Hundreds of Guardians who mastered the air element flew and attacked the Harpies.

One of the Wyverns swooped down and grabbed one of the Harpies. With a swift movement, they ripped off its wings. The Harpy fell and screamed in pain.

On the other side, one of the Dragons slid and breathed fire towards a group of Oni. They were immediately burnt to ashes.

Screams of harpies, roars of the Wyverns and the Dragons, and the metal's clashing, made the battlefield more dreadful.

People around the world stared at their television screens with pale faces and wide eyes. They said their prayers as they saw the battle had begun.
