ISABELLA

Discimer: I do not own Twilight

  ISABELLA

The world was on fire, molten va running along the ground like rivers. The sky was red, the air suffog—pleasing to the demons. They were fighting, a hundred against one.

"Give up, Isabel. You will not win. There are more of us and just one of you," General Azazel said, his bck eyes burning with fury. He was a high-ranking demon with green skin, a broad nose, fangs on both the top and bottom of his mouth, pointed ears, and two long bck horns atop his flowing bck hair. He wore red armor and a red cape, and in his hand was a long, sharp sword, its handle decorated with diamonds and rubies.

Isabel ughed. "You said the same thing when there were five hundred of you. Do you still think you kill me? Is your tiny brain uo prehend that this isn't a battle—it's a sughter? Give up now, and I'll spare the rest of your demons."

She smirked, her fangs showing. Isabel had pointed ears, bck skin, long flowing white hair, and white feathered wings oher side of her. Her icy blue cat-like eyes gleamed with mirth, even in such a serious situation. She stood at 7 feet tall, wearing bck armor with white desigched into it. Her bck tail, tipped with an arrowhead shape, swayed in anticipation. It, too, was white like her hair and wings. She had a bow and arrows on her back, and a bloody sword in her left hand.

The general was enraged. Four hundred of his men, dead—killed by a defective demon. It shouldn't be possible. Their king had ordered her death because she refused to torture a human. They were demons—that's what they did. But what he couldn't uand was how this demon, the king's daughter, was so powerful. She didn't look like other demons, and she didn't act like them either.

Azazel shook his head and gripped his sword tighter. He could sehe fear in his men, but they had to follow orders.

  "Attack!" he shouted.

The demons surrounded Isabel, who ughed, setting herself into a defeance. "Well, I guess you want to die too," she said, smiling.

The demons began their assault, but she fought with expert ease, like a dancer with a sword. One by ohey fell, meeting the end of her bde. Soon, only thirty remained.

"You bitch!" General Azazel cursed, blood running from a cut on the side of his fad several other wounds on his body. He looked ragged, tightening his grip on his sword as he prepared to behead her. But suddenly, his sword broke in half. The end piece flew and stabbed one of his demon soldiers in the left eye, going straight through to the back of his skull. The demon dropped to his knees before colpsing.

Everyoched in shock, then turheir attention to Isabel and General Azazel. There was a third figure now—a woman, 7 feet tall, with red skin, bck glowing eyes, sharp fangs, and pointed ears. Her bck hair swayed in the wind, and her long fingers, with sharp bails, ed around a bck glowing sword. It was the sword that had shattered Azazel's on.

Everyone dropped to their knees, reizing the woman.

"My queen..." General Azazel was at a loss for words.

"Silence," Queen Lilith anded, sheathing her sword at her side. She turo Isabel, her daughter, and sighed. "Rise, child."

Isabel got up from her knees. "Hello, Mother. Fancy meeting you here."

Lilith smiled, always amused by Isabel's easygoing demeanor. "I heard what you've done, child."

"I'm not going to torture an i human to amuse my father or my siblings."

"Yes, well, you chopped off your brother's hand."

"He reventing me from freeing the human. Besides, it will grow back."

Lilith sighed. She had always known Isabel was different from other demons—too passionate.

"Father didn't have to send his army to kill me. He should have e to do the job himself."

Lilith sighed again and held her daughter's tenderly. "Because I love you, I'm going to banish you from the human world."

  "What?!" Isabel excimed.

"Listen, child. I tried to vince your father to let you live, but he refused. However, he promised to leave you alone if I banished you. And I'm not going to lose my daughter because of who she is."

  "Mother..." Isabel said softly.

Lilith's eyes softened. "There's nothing for you here, anyway. I tell you're miserable. Go to the human world and live your life to the fullest. Maybe you'll meet your mate."

Isabel sighed. "I'll miss you, though."

"And why is that? You'll see me again. I'll visit every ce I get. And you know how to summon me when you need me."

Lilith stepped bad uned her sword from her waist, handing it to Isabel. "Take this. It has served me well, and now it will serve you."

  "But it's yours. I 't take it."

  "Child, I make another one."

  "Okay..." Isabel relented.

Lilith touched Isabel's forehead, and in an instant, she was gone. Isabel found herself standing in the middle of a house, holding her mother's sword.
