When night fell, System continued looking for the mouse, while also testing out a new attack method he'd thought of after his third metamorphosis. He decided to test it on spiders, since they were very common in the forest and tended to rest in the center of their webs at night.

  After his third metamorphosis, System had gained a new and useful addition to his body, his tentacles. These tentacles were extremely flexible and strong. Each one could wrap around and lift an object as heavy as System's own body, and they could stretch out a surprisingly rge distance of approximately ten centimeters.

  These tentacles also had System's [Limb Regeneration] ability. Even if they were sliced off, they would grow back gain. In fact, it was even easier for him to regrow a missing tentacle than it was to regrow a severed leg or damaged part of his exoskeleton.

  Since he had no need to fear any damage to his tentacles, System decided to try using them to hunt spiders. Even if his tentacles were bitten by the spider's chelicerae, System could take the initiative to sever them at the root to avoid being poisoned.

  System tore off the spider's legs with his tentacles, then tossed them into his mouth and started chewing.

  Ever since his third metamorphosis, his body no longer required as much food as it used to. He wouldn't feel hungry even after going for a long time without eating. He didn't know whether it was because of his [Hunger Resistant Physique] or if his body simply needed to eat less food now.

  System found that many formerly delicious foods no longer tasted so good, and the experience they provided had reduced by nearly a third.

  He used his tentacles to tear out the spider's organs, casually tossing away some of the less tasty meat along with the gray hair from the spider's body.

  When facing the agile mouse, System still chose to set up an ambush, as sneak attacks were where insects truly excelled.

  System was easily able to remain hidden thanks to [Color Camoufge]. He patiently observed the mouse's movements. Eventually, the right opportunity arrived, and he rushed straight toward the mouse!

  His tentacles stretched out in an instant, all aimed at the mouse's legs, and the mouse soon found itself fully ensnared.

  As System's tentacles wrapped around the mouse's legs, it rolled on the ground and began hopping madly in a panic.

  However, the ambush was well-prepared. Before the mouse could figure out what was happening, its limbs were already firmly entangled with System's tentacles. The rolling and jumping didn't affect the tentacles at all, though System did almost end up getting yanked off his feet.

  System quickly adjusted to the situation and executed his pn, fpping his wings with the greatest force he could generate!

  The mouse finally noticed that its limbs were entangled by System's tentacles, so it began trying to bite them off. However, by then, System had already hauled the mouse off the ground and into the air.

  By the time the mouse finished biting off the first tentacle, System had already carried it to the top of a tree.

  While the mouse continued its struggles and bit off two more of System's tentacles, System kept flying higher and higher, eventually using his aching wings to fly the mouse up to a height of one hundred meters...

  Without waiting for the mouse to continue biting and struggling, System's three remaining tentacles let go, after which his overworked body could finally rex.

  For a grasshopper, flying while carrying a struggling mouse was extremely strenuous.
