A giant frost dragon had appeared in Lilt Forest.
Aura, the Lord of Gciers, was currently patrolling the territory that he hadn't returned to in a long time. The pce had changed a lot since he'd st been there.
Fpping his wings, Aura flew to an old oak tree. The oak tree was thirty meters tall and was the rgest tree in the Lilt Forest.
Since as far back as Aura could remember, this forest had been his favorite pce, a nd of ice and snow.
Although this old oak tree had never died from the cold, the cold weather had always prevented it from growing any leaves, so its branches had always been bare. However, the old oak tree was now exuding a strong feeling of vitality and was covered with lush branches full of leaves.
Aura called out, "Medran, I know you're here."
After waiting for a while, Aura again spoke, "Medran, come out."
After seeing no movement in the surroundings, Aura suddenly opened his mouth and ripped a branch from the old oak tree.
Oak branches and leaves obviously didn't taste very good to a frost dragon. Aura spit the oak leaves out of his mouth. At the same time, he used his ptinum pupils to scan the surroundings.
"Huh? He really isn't here? It's only been three hundred years, so he shouldn't be dead yet."
Aura showed a puzzled expression. The druid had always been guarding this oak tree. It was said to be a special type of oak tree called a silver oak.
However, Aura's puzzled expression immediately turned to joy. He fshed a smug smile and spoke to a figure standing not far away, "Heh...Medran, you despicable liar! You didn't expect that I'd come back again, did you?"
"I didn't lie to you..."
When he heard the old druid's voice, the frost dragon suddenly sshed out with his cw.
The old druid didn't seem to dodge the dragon's cw and was directly enveloped by it. However, after Aura opened his cw, he found that his cw was only holding an unknown pnt.
"Damn old liar Medran, and those heroes in the Winter Wondernd, and Ogan..."
Aura muttered to himself, but soon realized that he had completely lost track of the old druid. Soon after, the angry Aura exhaled an extremely cold breath, completely freezing the silver oak.
Then, the frost dragon swung his powerful dragon tail...
Accompanied by a violent collision, the silver oak shattered like gss and transformed into countless tiny ice crystals.
The dragon's wings fpped and brought forth a magical blue whirlwind, and the icy debris that used to be a massive silver oak was blown in the direction of the Lilt Mountains with tremendous force, as if Aura wanted to bst the fragments all the way to the opposite side of the mountain range.
Aura spread his wings and flew into the sky, but turned around and flew back almost immediately.
The frost dragon waved his cws and dug into the ground repeatedly, finally pulling out every st one of the old oak's roots. It then froze the roots into ice chips and blew this new debris away just like the st time.
...
The frost dragon finally rose into the sky and flew slowly in the direction of the gcier mountain range.
As soon as Aura left, an inexplicable voice appeared in the ears of all creatures in the forest.
"Creatures of Lilt Forest, I allow you to silently recite my true name and once more accept my blessing."
As the voice spread, more than ten kilometers away from System, the goblins in the goblin vilge began to dance and revel. Frost energy from the void soon appeared and enveloped them.
The bodies of the goblins swelled up at a speed visible to the naked eye, and their green skin gradually turned white. In only a few seconds, their bodies swelled to a height of two meters, and they no longer had the thin and weak appearance of ordinary goblins.
A thick, white mist appeared and enveloped the goblins. Light blue ice crystal armor covered their skin. Various icy weapons also appeared in their hands.
The giant goblins waved their frost weapons and ran in the direction of the gcier mountains at a very fast speed.
At the same time, at least a dozen creatures with frost power appeared in various corners of the Lilt Mountains. They all began to move toward the same area of the gcier mountains together.
The great Lord of Gciers was finally back!
...
"Creatures of Lilt Forest, I allow you to silently recite my true name and accept my blessing again."
System, who was still lying in the pile of dead leaves, unable to move, also heard the voice of the Lord of Gciers.
His [Intuition] gave him a strange feeling.
As long as he responded to this sentence and recited the Lord of Gciers' true name in his heart, not only would he get out of his current predicament safely, there would also be other great benefits.
He might even transform directly from a mortal into a magical life form.
Unfortunately, he didn't know the true name or even the common name of the Lord of Gciers. He'd even guessed the title "Lord of Gciers" from the unknown words that the goblin and gnoll leaders frequently repeated. He didn't know whether it was right or wrong.
As the Lord of Gciers spoke, System clearly felt the weather growing colder, and the snowfkes falling from the sky became more and more dense.
Roughly ten minutes ter, System's health had dropped to 51%. He felt his body getting weaker and weaker, and he was starting to get a little tired. He felt a strong urge to go to sleep.
If he continued like this, even with an insect's tenacious vitality, he wouldn't st much longer.
Fortunately, after another ten minutes, his frozen body gradually rexed, and his remaining limbs and abdomen began to shiver uncontrolbly.
However, as his body trembled, some white blood flowed out of his limbs and abdomen, accelerating his loss of health.
System could only try to control his body, keeping it as stable as possible, and do his best to reduce his blood loss.
As the freezing gradually eased, his numb body began to feel a strong pain.
Earlier, because of System's frozen state, his body had completely lost all feeling. He'd only been able to observe it like a bystander. Now that he could feel again, the pain from his severe injuries was unbearable.
Fortunately, insects were very tenacious. After a while, he gradually became accustomed to the unbearable pain, and many parts of his body started to loosen up.
The first part of System's body to regain mobility wasn't his legs, tentacles, or mandibles, but the gnd in his throat that could spray [Corrosive Mucus].
System carefully controlled the mucus that gushed out of his throat, making it move. After his third metamorphosis, the responsiveness of his [Corrosive Mucus] had increased a lot, and his speed of squirting out mucus was also much faster.
However, due to the growth of his tentacles, he rarely had any reason to manipute the mucus in this way.
Most of the time, he just used his [Corrosive Mucus] for external digestion in order to speed up his digestion speed. Due to his recent consumption of rge quantities of slime, he hadn't even been able to use the external digestion function of [Corrosive Mucus] tely.
System controlled the mucus that sprayed out of the gnds in his throat. He carefully maniputed it to crawl onto his body's wounds, sealing them completely, using his mucus as a bandage in order to prevent bleeding.
With his wounds bandaged, his remaining health finally stabilized at about 34%. Although it was still slowly declining, the rate of decline wasn't nearly as fast. He was out of immediate danger.
However, with so much falling snow, his situation still wasn't optimistic.
System's eyes looked at a dark brown pupa hanging on a tree one meter away.
The pupa was five centimeters long, and the insect inside hadn't yet emerged. It was obviously a pupa preparing to overwinter.
System didn't know whether it would hatch into a moth or a butterfly, but it was obvious that finding this pupa nearby was a real blessing!
After using his tentacles to wrap around and examine the abilities of various insects in recent days, System knew that this overwintering pupa had an ability that he needed very much right now—[Cold Resistance].
