When Sofia got back to the hotel from burying Rob in the dump Jackie was sound asleep. Getting there had been a major pain in the ass on foot, getting back had not been a whole lot better. Thankfully the hotel had a large amount of hot water and Sofia took a very long shower.
After drying off she approached the bed and looked down at Jackie. She was utterly peaceful, her breathing slow and steady. Sofia slid into bed beside her, enjoying how much more vivid everything felt now that she was warmed up.
What would Jackie feel like? What would Jackie make her feel like? She ignored the pull of desire, tonight had not really gone how she had wanted. It had been takeout rather than fine dining. Her mind drifted back to the hockey players, and how she wanted something like that again. When the summer was over she would go back to Toronto, they had better menu options there.
She still wasn't sure if she wanted to continue her program or how she even would if she wanted to. But now wasn't the time for that.
She snuggled up to Jackie, only now realizing they were both entirely naked. Now that she was as alive as ever she certainly didn’t mind. She pressed herself against Jackie, sliding her arms around her waist.
Sofia closed her eyes and breathed in tandem with Jackie. She was so close to being alive. The only error was a single heartbeat in the room rather than a pair. But Sofia had never paid much attention to her pulse when she was alive. What did it really matter now?
She lay there with her eyes closed pretending to sleep and trying to keep her mind as clear as possible. She could almost taste the beauty of oblivion but it was just out of reach. She did her best to imagine, to remember the groggy feeling of falling asleep or waking up. Moments of bliss that were now lost to her.
Now she found bliss in blood.
There was a certain peace in pretending to sleep. To let her mind drift away from her body. Before she knew it Jackie was shifting in her arms. Jackie yawned and snuggled closer, rolling over. Sofia kept her eyes closed.
“Sofi?” Jackie whispered.
“I’m awake,” Sofia replied, “I was just pretending.”
“Oh…” Jackie replied. “Would my Mistress like me to pretend to wake her up with morning sex? I know how she gets after a feed, all liquid desire and libido,” she asked seductively after a minute.
Whatever sleep she had managed to mimic thus far vanished as Sofia’s body reminded her just how alive she was at this moment. Everything that had been so impossible for her was certainly not the case now.
Arousal pooled low in her belly, she wanted to feel Jackie against her, their bodies slotting together. “Be a good girl and wake me up then,” she replied, still keeping her eyes closed. She could swear she heard Jackie’s pulse speed up.
Jackie disappeared beneath the covers. A moment later she felt a warm hot mouth envelope a breast. She moaned, letting her legs spread open. Revealing herself totally to Jackie. She was hardly giving up control, simply letting Jackie take the lead this time.
She felt no insecurity nor shame. She felt warm and cozy, loved and safe. Also really fucking horny.
Jackie’s tongue swirled around her nipple before she continued. Jackie’s mouth trailed kisses all the way down as she settled herself between Sofia’s legs. Sofia’s core clenched in anticipation, she could feel Jackie’s breath on her clit.
“Don't make me wait, pet,” she demanded, tugging at the threat. She didn't even know what such a vague command would do. Regardless, a moment later Jackie’s mouth was on her.
Sofia groaned as Jackie’s tongue ran through her folds. She felt electrified and hot. Pressure for release began to build as Jackie sucked and licked, happily humming to herself as she did so. Sofia did her best to hold back a laugh and let Jackie hear how good she was feeling.
Jackie’s tongue lapped at her clit as fingers pressed into her. Sofia shifted her hips further, opening up herself more as she groaned. The bed felt like it was spinning around her, the bed uncomfortably hot. She relished in it all. Drinking in every sensation and touch that had been so muted.
Sofia didn’t cum easily but whatever it was about this morning was certainly working. “More,” she demanded.
Jackie slipped another finger inside her and changed to slow long licks across her. Sofia shuddered with a groan. “Faster,” she ordered, her breathing shallow and rapid. She reached down and ran her fingers into Jackie’s hair. “I’m close, don’t you dare fucking stop,” she hissed, biting into her lip.
And then she peaked, her hips bucking up as she pressed Jackie against her cunt. She throbbed with a sigh as her orgasm washed through her, except Jackie didn't stop, she kept right on going.

“Wring one more out of me and then you can stop,” Sofia chuckled breathlessly. She could already feel herself building back up.
Jackie’s tongue was unrelenting and she only filled her further.
Sofia was cumming again only seconds later. Her hips bucking against Jackie, her whole body impossibly oversensitive. She finally opened her eyes to meet Jackie’s as she crawled back up her body, licking Sofia’s juices from her lips.
Jackie smirked and kissed her, Sofia tasted herself as she wrapped her arms around Jackie again.
“Morning,” Jackie chuckled.
“Morning,” Sofia smiled. “I have a present for you.”
Jackie raised an eyebrow even as she sucked on her fingers obscenely.
“A trigger,” Sofia added, dangling a mystery that she knew Jackie wouldn't be able to resist. “Do you want it?”
“Y-Yes,” Jackie replied with only a split second of hesitation.
“Whenever I call you a good girl you’re going to cum for me. It can be as hard or as soft as you need to but regardless, each and every time I call you a good girl an orgasm is going to wash through you. Do you understand?” Sofia asked, her grip steady on Jackie’s metaphorical collar.
Jackie practically shuddered, her eyes going wide as she took in what she was being told. She nodded enthusiastically.
Sofia smirked, “good girl.”
Jackie closed her eyes with a grunt as a shudder went through her. “Oh fuck,” she muttered breathlessly through a grin. “You know what would be so hot? If you did that to me in public,” Jackie whispered in Sofia’s ear.
Sofia swallowed, her cheeks flushing. “Maybe I will,” she managed to respond steadily. Jackie was truly insatiable.
There was more of a fallout from Rob’s disappearance than Sofia would have liked. The cops were very much investigating his disappearance. Miriam was somewhat hysterical from what Sofia heard and her desperation to find her husband rippled throughout Gem Creek. It may not have been a disaster but nothing was going as planned.
She was seriously considering skipping town. Three strange strangers would not fly under the radar long and the last thing she needed was being investigated. She didn't appear on camera but Jackie did.
Sofia had talked to her mother occasionally but Maria was always busy with work. Sofia wasn't entirely sure if it was an excuse to avoid her or not, she did work ridiculous hours at the bakery. She had come back to Gem Creek to visit her family but well… her family was hardly around to visit and now everything was far more complicated.
The plan had been to establish herself here. To carve out a space for her and Jackie. She had failed. The only reason she had a place to stay was because Eloise was paying for a hotel room.
After dying she had needed her family, needing the normalcy she had remembered. Now not so much, now she remembered why she had been perfectly happy to leave. Her parents didn't really have time for her anymore, Sofia wasn't a little kid anymore. All the dynamics had changed. Nostalgia had brought her home when she had been scared.
Now she wasn't scared anymore.
She had mended things with Jackie and formed an actual relationship with Eloise. She even had a decent handle on herself now. She didn't feel the childish urge to run back to her parents anymore. She had been ready to stand on her own, dying had undone that but now… she felt good. She felt strong.
Now it was time to leave the nest again. But first, she needed to settle things with mother, if not entirely then at least for now. To ensure things would be good in the future.
Meeting in person but things remaining as they were would be painful, awkwardly so. Sofia grabbed her phone. Jackie was in the shower and she had a moment to herself.
“Sofía,” Maria answered the phone.
“Good morning, Mamá,” Sofia replied with a deep breath. “How are you doing?”
“Oh good, just made Hector breakfast, your dad is sleeping in,” Maria replied cheerfully.
“Nice,” Sofia offered awkwardly. “You know I love you.”
“Of course, mi hija,” Maria replied, Sofia could hear the concern in her voice. “What’s wrong?”
“Do you still want to keep everything a secret?” Sofia asked.
Maria didn’t answer. That was answer enough.
“Ok,” Sofia sighed with resolution. “I think I might go away for a while then…”
“Where?” Maria asked.
“Toronto? Somewhere, I don’t really know,” Sofia offered. “Maybe it’s just best if I give you some space.”
When Sofia eventually hung up the phone she was trying to hold back tears. Her mother loved her, Maria made sure that was clear, but her mother also couldn’t accept her right now either.
If her father wondered what was going on then her mother could explain things. Sofia tried not to be angry, she tried not to resent her mother. But her mother seemed ashamed by her reaction, Sofia had never seen her like this before.
But if a break had done her and Jackie some good then she was confident it would do her mother some good too.
Jackie emerged from the shower, the conversation had been long enough that Jackie had clearly been giving them privacy.
“How did it go?” Jackie asked, wrapping her hair in a towel.
Sofia shrugged. “I’m just gonna give her space. Maybe she will come around.”
Jackie nodded.
“I’m angry with her,” Sofia volunteered, “she wants me to hide but I want my family to see me.”
“I’m sorry I wasn’t able to get her to come around,” Jackie replied. “You could tell your dad anyway.”
Sofia shook her head. “I don’t want to make things worse. For now, I’ll let the dust settle.”
“If you think that’s best.”
Sofia shrugged. She didn’t know what was best, but stewing in this space was certainly not it. She needed to keep moving forward.
“You wanna go back to Toronto?” Sofia suggested.
Jackie smiled. “We would have to find a new apartment.”
Sofia shrugged. “I’ve got a large amount of cash.”
“Or we could march into the swankiest penthouse in the city and eye-blast them into giving it to us,” Jackie suggested.
Sofia rolled her eyes. “Maybe a middle ground.”
Jackie pouted playfully and climbed into Sofia’s lap. “As long as there is a pool, I want a pool.”
“So demanding,” Sofia chuckled, gently kissing her. “I’ll see what I can do,” she promised.
She meant that in more ways than just the pool. Their journey together was just beginning all things considered. Despite all the chaos of the last few months they had come out of it for the better.
Weirdly she had found a family in death. Even if her living one proved to be trouble she still had people who cared about her.
There was so much that she and Jackie had to learn still that, hopefully, Eloise could fill them in on. And so much that they had to discover for themselves.
“I’m glad I died and met you,” Sofia signed contentedly.
“I’m glad I picked you over the other girl who wanted your room,” Jackie smirked.
Sofia playfully smacked her arm. “Asshole,” Sofia muttered.
Jackie bit her ear playfully.
“Be a good girl and cut that out,” Sofia smirked.
Jackie’s eyes went wide as she came in Sofia’s lap.
