Episode 6

Three days later, it was time for her to return home.

Silently and quietly, she tied up my hair behind me, but there was no joy on her face that should have been happy.

I naturally knew why she was worried, but didnt want her to worry about me, so I smiled and coaxed her: "Youve always been concerned about An Xiang, havent you? Once we return to the Prime Ministers estate, you can ask about her news. Why do you look so gloomy all of a sudden?"

Shu Ying bit her lower lip: "Miss is going back like this, Master and Madam will be worried to death."

We wanted to comfort her, but before we could say anything, a light knock at the door interrupted us. Xun Yuns voice came from outside: "The auspicious hour is approaching, I wonder if the princess is ready?"

I nodded slightly and opened the door, then followed Xun Yun towards the main gate of the Wang Mansion.

Outside the Wangfu Gate, the eight-carriage golden silk sedan chair was already waiting, but the horse that should have been leading the way in front of the sedan chair was not prepared due to Nan Chengyaos absence.

Qin An bowed to me: "Your Highness has ordered, today I will escort the princess back to her parents home. When His Majestys health recovers, Your Highness will surely accompany the princess to the Xiang Mansion to pay respects and offer greetings."

I smiled faintly: "General Qin, your words are too serious. Filial piety is the most important of all virtues, and its only natural for the three princes to stay in the palace and serve the emperor. My father and mother will not only understand but also be delighted."

I saw Qin An slightly raise his head, quietly glance at me, and then resume his usual calm demeanor. He ordered the sedan chair bearer to move forward, and personally lifted the curtain for me.

I let Pei Yus shadow support me as I stepped slowly into the sedan chair, with a dignified and elegant demeanor, and a faint smile.

As the sedan curtain was lowered, the sound of music and ceremony rose, and the sedan chair quickly lifted up, but it did not move forward for a long time.

I vaguely heard a sound ahead, but couldnt quite make it out, and could only ask Qin An in a low voice what had happened as he followed beside the sedan.

Qin An seemed to have hesitated for a moment before speaking up and telling me: "Murong Young Master has arrived."

I was startled and didnt care about anything else, I lifted the curtain on the side of the sedan chair, and saw a person in white clothes as white as snow, riding a horse and smiling at me from afar: "Second sister, Ive come to take you home."

"I lowered my voice: Whats gotten into you?"

He raised an eyebrow with a careless smile: "I missed you, cant wait to see you again when I get home."

I looked at Mu Rongs harmless smile, just about to speak, when Qin An stepped forward and bowed to him, saying: "Young Master Mu Rongs filial piety is indeed moving, but this is not in accordance with the rules. Please return to your manor first, I will send the princess over afterwards."

She raised an eyebrow and said coldly, "On the night of the grand wedding, you abandoned your new wife, and for three days after the wedding, you didnt show up. Even when returning to her family home, you want her to go alone, is this what they call a harmonious marriage?"

"The Emperors dragon body is out of harmony, and Your Highness has no choice either..."

"Dont tell me its unavoidable," Yilian interrupted Qin An with a cold smile: "Do I not know? Even the crown prince returned to his own mansion two days ago. The emperor, even if he hasnt fully recovered, is now in no great danger. What is Nan Chengyao doing still staying in the palace, neglecting his new wife?"

Qin Ans expression didnt change, he just calmly and politely opened his mouth: "Its hard to disobey the imperial edict, I hope the princess and Murong young master will understand."

Although he started with a courteous phrase, his words somehow brought me into the conversation. I naturally understood what he meant, so I smiled slightly: "Director Qin, theres no need to say more, Murong Qing understands."

With a flicker of his eyes, the corners of his lips had already hooked up again with an arc that was not in the least bit intentional: "Since my sister can forgive me, whats wrong with me being forgiven? Similarly, since Nan Xiangyao insists on being his filial son, why should I let go of the opportunity to be a good younger brother?"

I smiled bitterly in my heart, knowing that he was truly angry and his temper had flared up. No matter how I tried to persuade him, he wouldnt listen. Given his arrogant nature, it wasnt impossible that he would even demolish the entire Sanwang Fu.

Just as he was thinking, he gradually converged his smile and looked at Qin An from horseback, saying coldly: "No need for General Manager Qin to take the trouble, my sister, I will naturally escort her home."

Qin An remained silent for a moment, and from my perspective, his expression was still calm and peaceful.

As usual, on the day of returning to my parents home, it was originally supposed to be led by my husband riding a horse in front of the sedan chair. Then, Qing lightly patted the horses belly and slowly walked the horse to the side of my sedan chair, smiled and said: "Lets go."

I looked at him with some helplessness: "Youre so big now, still causing trouble, hurry back home."

He raised an eyebrow, slightly turned his head to look at me, with a smile that was almost roguish on the edge of his lips, yet exceptionally good-looking.

He smiled and said: "Alright, Im going home anyway. This wide and safe road, who says I cant walk on it?"
