60 - Dark Secret

Lorelai clenched her fists, forcing herself to push through the haze threatening to drown her mind. The fire's crackle warped in her ears, distorting as if the world itself was bending around her. The man’s laughter slithered through the space like an unwelcome touch, his eyes glinting with sick anticipation.

'No. I absolutely refuse!' Her muddled mind latching to a lifeline of determination.

A surge of divine fury flared within her, battling the insidious warmth curling around her senses. She gritted her teeth, focusing on the righteous energy buried deep within. The glow of her aura flared to life, a sudden pulse of light washing through the room like a sonic boom, cleansing her friends.

  Aura of Purity.

A brilliant radiance erupted from her core, spreading outward in waves of golden-white light. The effect was immediate. Kael and Thrax’s sluggish breathing deepened, their bodies jerking as the poison was purged from their systems. Aeryn gasped, her crimson eyes widening as clarity returned, the unnatural heat retreating from her limbs.

The man staggered back, shielding his eyes from the divine glow. "What the—?!" His voice wavered, his moment of triumph stolen from him in an instant.

Lorelai swayed, the world tilting as her own strength faltered. It didn’t cleanse me? A cruel twist of irony—the magic had purged her allies, but she was still ensnared in its grasp. She felt the lingering pull of the aphrodisiac, the torment of her own heightened sensitivity, but it no longer mattered.

Aeryn was already moving, a blur of motion fueled by restored strength. Her rapier shot forward, aimed for the man’s throat. He barely dodged, stumbling backward with a panicked curse.

Thrax came next. He surged to his feet, his knuckles turned white in his grasp, an testament to his grip on his oversized axe, his golden eyes burning with rage. “You’re dead.” His voice was a growl, his body still sluggish but fueled by sheer fury.

The man’s smug expression shattered, his confidence dissolving in the face of the now-armed warriors before him. “Now, now, no need for violence—”

Kael’s arrow was nocked before the man could finish, the tip gleaming as it trained on his chest. “I suggest you start praying.”

The fight erupted in an instant. The man lunged for the door, but Aeryn’s rapier slashed across his path, forcing him to retreat toward the hearth. Lorelai, still weakened, braced herself against the table, her fingers gripping the wood with enough force to splinter it. Her knees touched together, standing was a difficult endeavor.

Thrax wasted no time. With a snarl, he swung his axe in a deadly arc. The man barely ducked in time, the weapon embedding itself into the wooden beam behind him. “Wait! Wait!” the man yelped, throwing his hands up. “You need me! You still want information, don’t you?”

Kael’s arrow found its mark, grazing the man’s cheek just enough to draw blood. “Not interested.”

The man scrambled backward, reaching for something hidden beneath the table. Lorelai’s eyes snapped to his movement. “He’s got a—”

Too late, in desperation the man slashed outward with a dagger. Clipping Aeryn's thigh, the surprise attack buying the man just enough respite that he was able to get back onto his feet. There was a stark change in Aeryn, it was a change similar to backing a kicked dog into a corner. Aeryn's change came from an unprecedented rage, her irises and pupil shrank, a slight red glow emanated from them, and her breathing got heavy. The change in the air was so stark that she exuded an energy that put Thrax and Kael on edge.

"I don't usually enjoy doing this," Aeryn began her eyes staring at the man unblinkingly, "I hate when people get the wrong idea about me. However this time, I am really going to enjoy it, savor it."

Before the man could ask what Aeryn was rambling on about she disappeared from his view. Before he could even get his guard back up he felt an incredibly sharp pain in his neck as his head was yanked to the side by his hair. Aeryn sank her fangs into the man's neck and he immediately went pale, losing the power to even resist he dropped his dagger to the floor.

'This is more gruesome than I imagined,' Thrax thought as Aeryn devoured the man's blood. There was no hesitation, no satiation, Aeryn drank as though she were a traveler that had been stranded in the desert for weeks. Aeryn did not want some disgusting pig as a thrall, no she wanted him dead and wanted to him to despair until his final breath. The man's blood quickly drained until he looked mummified. Aeryn tossed him aside as if he were a child's toy, the only blood that remained of the man was the two thin lines dripping down Aeryn's chin.

Thrax and Kael were tense, they werent quite sure what to expect and were wary about Aeryn's mental state. The tension was palpable until an exotic voice rang out firmly grounding them, "I-its so bloody hot in here. Am I the only one whose hot?"

Lorelai's legs no longer could support her weight as she slunk to the ground, she removed her armor. She was sweating profusely, the white jerkin she wore underneath her armor was soaked through and clung to her skin, her jerkin so wet she was on full display. Thrax and Kael looked mesmerized and sauntered over to her with their mouths slightly agape.

Aeryn quickly stepped in front of them blushing from her ears to her neck, "Lets leave her be for a moment, let her calm herself down." Aeryn stated while having her own struggles. The men nodded and walked outside to the front of the house. Aeryn turned to Lorelai before leaving, "Take care of it quickly, before you do something you regret."

Lorelai was in a dire state, so much so that most of her inhibitions were gone. She reached her hand upwards and began to feel her chest for the first time since her change, a scream saturated with pleasure escaped her lips as she felt electricity tear through her chest to between her legs. The sensation was so powerful she couldn't stop her hands from wildly exploring herself.

Outside the house Kael and Thrax were beet red and Aeryn wasn't faring much better.

"Thrax if that thing of yours grows any larger you're going to have a hole in your trousers," Aeryn chided, "Kael you're stiff as a board yourself."

"It's not like I can do anything about it," Thrax replied turning his blushing face away from Aeryn, "Men have it tough, you can hide when you're aroused."

Aeryn got real close to Thrax trying to make him look her in the eyes, her body having to press up against him, but Thrax refused to look at her. Then he had an epiphany and grabbed her by the shoulders and held her at arms length.

"You're struggling as bad as we are!"

Aeryn's surprised face betrayed her, "W-what!? What are you getting on about?"

Thrax and Kael eyed her suspiciously.

"Oh okay, fine. Yes I am, its taking every ounce of my will to not march in there right now or lie with one of you."

Kael and Thrax looked at each other mischievously.

"Don't even think about it, I have my self control back," Aeryn said recoiling from the two of them slightly.

The noise from inside the house subsided, and after a few more minutes, the three of them re-entered the home. Lorelai was on her feet, her hair wet from sweat and disheveled, and she had redonned her armor. Upon seeing them her face went more red then they could remember seeing her, "If you ever speak of this again," Lorelai with suppressed rage, "there will be death."

The three looked at each other before looking back at her and nodding.

"N-nothing to worry about none of us were interested anyw...," Kael started to say when he leaned on the fireplace mantle and an audible click from a hidden mechanism resounded throughout the house. The floor beneath them groaned and a section of the stone wall near the hearth slid away, revealing a darkened passageway leading beneath the house. A foul stench wafted up from the depths.

The group covered their nose and crept forward their eyes were fixed on the now-open doorway.

“Damn it,” Kael muttered, peering into the darkness beyond. “What the hell is down there?”

The answer came in the form of a weak, rasping voices from the shadows.

  “H…help…”

Lorelai’s stomach twisted. Aeryn, recovering quickly, grabbed a nearby lantern and lifted it toward the opening. The light barely penetrated the gloom, but it was enough to reveal the truth.

  A prison.

Iron bars lined the walls beneath the house, enclosing the figures of humans and demi-humans. Every prisoner was an attractive female, nude, and dirty. As they walked through the caged people, a few were even pregnant. The reek of the events within this room was sickening and the despair was suffocating.

Thrax’s grip tightened on his axe, his knuckles turning white. “Son of a bitch.”
