Reliving. Remembering. Re-enacting. Rejection

  "Let'slly!" Screaming out, Sam was pumping his fists in the air before Thwack!- John's hand came down hard.

  "Stop screaming."

  "Sorry, John!"

  John glanced backwards to the fading city... burned and ruined, three giant figures with heads as high as the clouds could be seen dominating the landscape.

  "Let's go now," Michael said while wiping his sword as John began writing in his journal.

  「He looks off. I miht ght be slightly paranoid but still.」

  Closing his book, John nodded before asking "Where to?"

  Sam stopped gazing at the landscape as his eyes fell onto the sitting figure of Michael.

  "Somewhere far."

  "That's all?" Sam asked, confused by the anonymity of Michael.

  "Well, let's start then. Lead the way Michael," John's voice broke through the sudden staredown.

  The two looked at eachother before nodding "Lead the way Michael!" Sa■ said as he finished folding his sleeping bag.

  "Alright, don't stray away, the forest is big."

  And so, the thr-[two] began their jounrey into the forest. Slowly but surely, they made their way carefully.

  While making their way through the strange fauna, S■ asked Michael in a quieter tone, "So, why has ■ changed ■ ■?"

  Michael, who was cutting through the more blood-vessel-looking vines, answered in his usual nonchalance, "Well, the fauna's sudden change may have been caused by the end of the world... but..." stopping for a second, he turned around to ■.

  John, tilted his head at Michael's reaction and turned too... seeing nobody.

  "So, who are you talking to?"

  "What?"

  "Michael, you were talking to someone, who was it?"

  "It was [■]...?"

  "Who? I wasn't saying anything because i trust you but... are you okay?" John showed an unusual amount of care, however Michael looked pale faced.

  "Nothing... we have to go quickly."

  ■ looked between them confused, ■ opened ■ mouth, trying to speak... what came out was... "■" nothing.

  The [two] began walking faster, Michael clearing the path efficiently.

  "By the way, where did you learn to use a sword like that?" John asked as his eyes followed the path the sword took.

  "Well... do you need to know?" Michael asked back, to this, John just sighed before replying, "No. No i dont."

  ■ looked at the two before ■ing, "■ ■ ■???" and nothing came out. ■ing, ■ just followed the two.

  「Am i forgetting someone?」

  John quickly scribbled in before speeding up. ■ was standing infront of him while he was scribbling, almost celebrating.

  ...

  After walking for what felt like hours, they decided to make camp. Day soon approaching, the [duo] decide to camp inside a cave.

  Sadly, in such a process, a family of hound looking chickens were annihilated to the hand of Michael and his sword.

  "John! Could you set up my bag?" Michael said as he began taking his clothes off to wash, leaving John to look away while annoyingly replying, "Fine! Stip taking your clothes off here!"

  "We're both men!" Michael laughed as he took his pants off and began washing his clothes in a bucket. "Plus, its the end. Why would wearing clothes change anything?"

  John could only groan, Michael was right afterall. While unpacking, he saw an extra sleeping bag...

  ■ was sitting in the corner as ■ waited for them to finally sleep, ■ strangely doesn't feel tired.

  Then, from a shadow... ■ heard a voice.

  'Samm... this world...'

  Turning back quickly, ■ saw the Darkness. Its many eyes staring back, however... two stood out, two that looked strangely like his.

  "???■?" ■ asked, but the Darkness began to transfer thoughts once more.

  'Sam... this world... forgot...'

  The darkness whispered into ■'s mind, not the assaulting loudness of before but a soothing gentleness.

  'We... forget... never...'

  It continued as ■'s gaze differed from John and Michael to the Darkness in the corner.

  "■ ■ ■ ■?"

  ■ threw a punch, however... his fist phased through the wall as his fist connected with the shadow.

  'Deall... youu... me...'

  Grit!

  ■'s teeth slightly began to slowly get destroyed as the Darkness began speaking, the clause seemed... perfect.

  'Convenience... life is esy... that will be you...'

  "■???" ■ Began to try and step back however, he stumbled onto the, now, sleeping figure of John.

  He phased through like nothing.

  'You... being... forgotten...'

  "■? ■■?"

  'Yes... forgotten... if join me... you... not be forgotten.'

  ■ bit ■'s lip until ■ had a bleeding tounge,which tasted metallic and... strangely, when leaving his body, it vanished.

  "■???"

  'World... forgetting...'

  The Darkness replied to ■ confused exclamation as a long, stick-like arm extended from the darknes.

  'Deal...?'

  ■ seeing this outstretched his own hand... but, before touching hllits hand, ■ slapped it away.

  'Why...'

  The darkness began sprouting more eyes before it tried to take form through sheer force of will.

  "Nrgg... what's all this- HOLY!"

  ■ turned to the voice and saw John waking up and scrambling to get the lantern, ■ also began looking and, lo and behold, it was next to ■.

  Picking it up, ■ turned it on towards the Darkness, forcing it to retreat with a bloodcurdling, telepathic scream.

  ■ placed the lantern down, sighing, a long, needed sigh. "■?" ■ said as he put the lantern down.

  "John, what are you screaming about?" Michael asked as he slowly woke up.

  "How can you sleep through anything!" John asked back, his annoyance about to sky rocket out of this world.

  "Cant I just sleep bro? Why must I be awake too? Let us go sleep bro."

  "You did not just talk to me in a peom type way."

  Michael simply stuck out his tounge, trying to act cute before going back to sleep. John just sighed, picking up his notebook ,which he left at the side of him, he began writing.

  「This guy... he really is an idiot, but, that feeling of forgetting something is still so strong. Who is it... who am i forgetting?」

  He stopped for a second before adding a note at the bottom.

  「Note: Who got the lantern?」

  He gazed at where ■[Nothing was] and back to the lantern... before shaking his head and closing his notebook and also sleeping.

  ■ was now sitting beside the two's sleeping figure as ■ leaned his head against the wall. Trying to get ■'s own sleep, ■ closed ■'s ■ before sleeping himself.

  ~~~
  A figure slowly entered the cave, making sure to not be loud. There, he saw three figures sleeping.
  Two other figures peeked their head in before entering.
  "...you pick up one and i pick up the other..." on whispered as he pointed to the one with the vest.
  "...sure, i guess thats fine. You get that sword guy..." the other pointed to the one wearing a jacket.
  "...hell no...!" He whispered, his decibles slightly increasing. "...shh..." the third went inbetween them.
  "...I know this isn't ideal, just deal with it for now... I'll take the guy sleeping against the wall..."
  Sighing, the second, ever so carefully and softly, picked up the sleeping man with a jacket, 'a single stir would end his life,' said the great prophet of the sky.
  The first picked up the sleeping figure with a vest less carefully as he was not mentioned.
  The third followed suit with the third-[nothing].
  Soon, they walked out of the cave where a fourth figure was. The first tilted his head slightly towards the cave, the fourth nodded and went in. Taking their supplies with them.
