A Word to the Reader (New Edition)

A Word to the Reader (New Edition)

  Ladies and gentlemen:

I've been writing "Village Official's Romance" for over a month now, and after signing the contract, I was extremely surprised. As a newcomer starting out, seeing my book online with so many people reading it and commenting on it is just thrilling.

Now I want to talk about some of my experiences, so that everyone can understand the things I wrote in this book. After graduating from university in 2004, I returned to my hometown and became a rural cadre. Then in 2006, the university student village official program started, and our town was not among the first batch, but we had many in the second batch. Since we were all young people, we got along well and became good friends. I am very familiar with their joys and sorrows. As for those fantastical things in this book, they are not true, but rather a kind of fantasy about my own future.

The work in the township government office is not much, simply put, it's just guarding. So, in my spare time, I like to read books. In a remote place, apart from official party newspapers, there aren't many good books, so I go online to read. I've read a lot of things like "Zhān Xiān" (Killing Immortals), "Xiǎo Bīng Chuán Qí" (The Legend of Little Soldier), "Sōu Shén Jì" (Records of Searching for Gods) and so on, of course, including the flying and dancing big "Level Farmer". As for what many friends have said, I don't deny it - it was indeed the flying and dancing big one that led me onto the path of creation, sprouting the idea of writing.

Having read it a thousand times is not as good as writing it yourself. Although I've read many books, actually writing one is a different story altogether. The basic storyline, plot, language, and techniques are not something that a newcomer can fully grasp. If you don't believe me, try it out for yourself. So the beginning was quite awkward, with no bottom line in my heart, so as I wrote, I fell into the routine of a farmer. This is really embarrassing. The book has already been written to 200,000 words, and there are still some drafts on hand. After recommending them, I plan to thoroughly revise it, changing those repetitive chapters. However, no matter how much I revise, some things can't be changed, such as the protagonist's starting point and initial development path. If these were changed, the entire book would be overturned. But for some specific plot points, I will make changes to conform to my writing standards. If there are still friends who are not satisfied, then I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do about it.

This book has many errors in sentences, phrases, punctuation, algorithms and so on. I will further improve these aspects, please rest assured.

After saying so much, I have a little expectation in my heart. In the process of re-creation, I hope that friends who understand can participate and give their opinions to help perfect it together. I look forward to writing something that resonates with university students, village cadres, rural exhibitions, and personal exhibitions. Also, I would like to offer some advice: for friends who are not satisfied with this book, please do not scold me arbitrarily, have a little patience with me, after all, I am still a newcomer.

Finally, I'd like to say some clichéd but necessary words: thank you to the editors of Group 5 - 314, zenk, Bai Kai Shui, and Guo Jing - for giving me this opportunity. Thank you to all my friends who care about me and support me, for your help and understanding. And thank you to those friends who have scolded me and read my book - no matter what, it's not your fault that I couldn't retain you, it's a problem with my own abilities.
