136: The Coup of Kasaka

Finally, they entered a wide room containing several displayed fragments of rubble.

"Before we move on to the next floor, I must tell you about the most recent chapter in our history.

You all witnessed it yourselves: the coup in Kasaka.

When the former Emperor, Adaia the Second, launched an attack on his own capital alongside the military of the time, he nearly destroyed the nation that his father had built.

He did this because of his severe mental disorders, which, according to the Council of Ministers, he developed after the Third War of the Lost.

The military of that era was deeply loyal to him, and they followed him into his demise...

  ...which they did.

Fortunately, the Council had secretly trained a special unit to counteract any coup attempt.

This unit infiltrated the city and eliminated the old leaders of the military.

As for Adaia, it is said that in his suicidal madness, he took his own life.

From his cold, lifeless hands, his son took his Nyd, inheriting it, and thus became the third ruler of our nation.

At just 21 years old, he was burdened with the responsibility of leading an entire country.

But the ministers supported and continue to support him, working tirelessly to prevent the collapse of our nation.

  ...

  And they succeeded.

In the two years since, our country has not faced a collapse.

The secret unit from back then now forms our current military, which you proudly and bravely serve!

  But you already knew that."

After his brief explanation, they spent some time observing the rubble and reflecting on the memories it stirred.

All of them had lived in the capital during that time and had witnessed terrible events.

They signaled to Munkan that they would prefer to move on.

  He understood.

He led them into a small staircase that took them one floor down.

Once again, they found themselves in rooms of varying sizes, filled with artifacts and exhibits showcasing the older history of their nation.

This era was one they had learned relatively little about.

They knew that during this time, their country had been founded and built, but beyond that, their knowledge was sparse.

  "Now then!

  Let us continue our journey!

I shall now teach you about the partly forgotten Second War of the Lost!

Starting with its beginning in the year 2265!"
