Chapter 13: Refrigerators

  10 years had passed since Alex had lost his metal leg in the colosseum that day. He had a new company selling refrigerators. He had destroyed the Compudahteslanikolamagnetic device. The time machine was too dangerous. Nobody should have it.

  Today, he had arrived in Rome for a vacation. The Museum of Rome had a new exhibit that Alex just had to see. He walked up to the glass case. Alex couldn’t believe what was in front of him. It was rusted and aged and almost beyond recognition. His old metal leg. The same metal leg the emperor had been holding as he had been sucked into the portal. Archaeologists had dug it up a year ago. He continued to walk around the museum taking a look at other exhibits for an hour.

  Alex walked outside the museum. He took a taxi. “Per il Colosseo, per favore.” But stepping into the colosseum again, for the first time in ten years, the color purple caught his eyes.
