Chapter 3
Darkness.
Then—
Pain.
My eyes shot open as I gasped for air.
I quickly sat up, breathing heavily. My heart was pounding like crazy.
“What… what just happened?”
The sky above me was bright blue. White clouds slowly drifted across it.
Soft grass covered the ground around me, and a gentle wind blew through the field.
I looked around in confusion.
“Where… am I?”
The st thing I remembered was walking across the street.
Then bright headlights.
Then—
“Oh.”
My eyes widened.
“I got hit by a car.”
I looked down at my body.
My hands were shaking slightly, but they looked normal.
Not broken.
Not injured.
“…Wait.”
I stood up quickly.
“I’m not dead?”
I checked my arms, my legs, my chest. Everything seemed fine.
No blood. No pain.
“That makes no sense,” I muttered.
I looked around again.
Tall grass stretched across the field. A forest stood in the distance, and mountains rose far beyond it.
This definitely wasn’t my city.
Actually…
It didn’t look like Earth at all.
there are even 4 different moons in this world
I slowly crossed my arms and thought for a moment.
“Is this… like every isekai anime?”
Random field.
No people.
No buildings.
Suspiciously peaceful.
Yeah.
That was pretty suspicious.
“If this really is another world,” I said to myself, “then there’s one thing I should try.”
I raised my hand like I had seen characters do in games and anime.
“Okay… let’s see what I can do.”
I took a deep breath.
“Status.”
For a moment, nothing happened.
Then suddenly—
A glowing blue screen appeared in front of me.
“WHOA!”
I jumped back in surprise.
The screen floated in the air like a hologram.
“That actually worked…”
I leaned closer and read the words on the screen.
Name: RenAge: 16Level: 1
Strength: 1/10Speed: 1/10Defense: 1/10Magic: 1/10Stamina: 1/10
Skills: Devourer
"I even get a new name too."
“…Wow.”
I stared at the screen.
“I have a 1 out of 10 in everything.”
That had to be the worst stat sheet ever.
“I’m basically the definition of average.”
Actually… maybe even worse than average.
Then I noticed something at the bottom.
One single skill.
“Devourer?”
I frowned.
“That sounds… intense.”
Was it some kind of attack?
Did it let me eat monsters?
Absorb powers?
Or did it literally mean eating things?
“That would be weird,” I said.
Still… it was the only special thing I had.
Everything else about me looked like a totally normal sixteen-year-old.
I waved my hand and the blue screen disappeared.
“Well,” I sighed.
“So I’m stuck in another world with terrible stats and one strange skill.”
A loud roar suddenly echoed from the nearby forest.
I slowly turned my head toward the trees.
