Chapter 3: Do the shadows dance

As the shadow rushed toward Michio, it suddenly vanished. In the same instant, something seized his leg from below. Michio swung his sword and severed the dark hand, but before he could recover, dozens more hands erupted from beneath him. They wrapped around his leg and dragged him down into a void.

When he reached the bottom, he saw nearly a thousand shadows, all curled together, each holding glowing orbs in their hands.

One of the entities within the mass spoke.

“I will give you the butcher’s death.”

Michio paused for a moment, then let out a low chuckle.

“Try as hard as you can, son of the shadows.”

  The fight began.

The shadows hurled their orbs toward him. Michio dodged them with ease and charged forward. He drove his sword into one shadow and followed with a punch that caused another to burst apart. More rushed at him from every direction. He laughed as he struck them down, blow after blow, until most of them had fallen.

  Then he realized something.

He didn’t need to fight at his limit.

A massive surge of energy erupted from him. His eyes glowed blue as a powerful aura flared around his body. His fists resonated like the jaws of a dragon.

  This time, he was serious.

With every strike, shadows were incinerated instantly. But suddenly, an orb appeared behind him and detonated. A blinding white light consumed everything. For a moment, all sound vanished.

As the light faded, Michio saw something else.

A deity stood before him, its form glowing with a purple and blue silhouette.

“Preserve your thoughts, not your body,” it said.

Just as Michio’s body was about to be incinerated, it was restored to its former state. When the light finally cleared, only one shadow remained.

Michio looked at it and spoke calmly.

  “Go on.”

  They continued fighting.

Meanwhile, Hayato stood alone on the deserted stone platform. He did not move. He did not speak—except for the quiet whispers he directed toward something unseen in the sky.

Suddenly, a shadow charged at him. Before it could strike, a surge of purple energy flared into existence. A forcefield formed instantly, shattering the shadow’s weapon into fragments mid-air.

  Hayato remained still.

The shadow roared and drove a punch straight into Hayato’s chest. Hayato did not flinch. Instead, the trees behind him incinerated, reduced to ash by the force of the impact.

  Slowly, Hayato raised his hand.

A violent gush of darkness tore through the attacker, ripping it apart—but the entity laughed.

“I am a shadow,” it hissed.

  Hayato finally spoke.

“Not when pierced by shards of light.”

In an instant, brilliant fragments of light erupted from the darkness itself. The shadow screamed as it was torn apart, shattered into countless glowing shards that dissolved into nothingness.

  Hayato lowered his hand.

  The whispers above him continued.

While Michio clashed his sword with entities' claws every time they collided reality tried to survive the blow. , it mocked him for his weakness—laughing at the fact that he carried a sealed beast yet failed to wield its true power and unleash its true energy.

Michio remained calm, even as he barely survived the relentless barrage of shadow orbs exploding while shaking existence itself.

Suddenly, a dark dagger pierced through him.

A second shadow emerged from a portal behind him, striking without warning. Michio collapsed to the floor, blood dripping onto the stone beneath him. His eyes were exhausted. His aura faded. His hands trembled—wrapped not in chains of metal, but chains of responsibility.

  Then, the Dragon appeared again.

A vast silhouette formed in the void, its presence heavy, ancient and calm.

“I did not place these chains upon you,” the Dragon said firmly.

  “You forged them yourself.”

“Unleash your power. Break the chains of responsibility and judgment that thy father has tied you to .”

From the Dragon’s mouth, a single blue spark emerged glowing like the eye of a god, filled with power but most importantly hope..

It touched Michio’s burdened ancient rusted chains.

The chains incinerated instantly, turning to ash that scattered across the ground, the ash was smooth but flashed with his memories of life, it was not just ash but a mirror that depicted the expectations his father had evoked.. Among the remnants, only one thing remained intact—the chain Michio had once given to Hayato.

  He remembered.

  His responsibility.

Michio’s tears stopped falling. His aura reignited. His hands vibrated violently with returning power.

Then another voice echoed through the void:

“Funnel your anger. Do not let it go to waste.”

Suddenly, a massive surge of aura erupted from Michio’s body. It engulfed the entire void, burning outward and expanding endlessly, tearing reality itself apart.

  The shadow screamed.

“WHY DID YOU RIP THE FABRIC OF REALITY?!”

Before Michio could answer, the shadow was dragged into something incomprehensible—something no human mind could ever understand.

  A blinding light flashed.

And in the next moment, Michio was back where he had left—standing in the ruined world, power still humming beneath his skin.

Michio raised his head and let the water fall onto his face each drop making his anger ease.

Hayato after seeing his brother was relaxing, his anxious soul calmed.

Also after a few minutes, Michio said “ Did anyone come to harm you.”

Hayato said”Yes but I killed him.”

Michio calmly stated that he had eradicated all the shadows.

They returned to their house as the sun was setting .

Meanwhile in a dark place where only a red flame was burning came an entity with a demon samurai mask attached to his face.

He said with great fear “ Si-Sir I-am-am sorry for your lo-loss. They have killed your s-.”

The entity got shredded piece by piece, its dark blood stained the walls and its body laid lifelessly on the ground. Something primordial entered the room and it said.”They killed my only son. I will stain their entire lineage made of cowards. . Fix a meeting with the________.”

As the sun set. Michio questioned who the deity really was. Meanwhile Hayato talked to his newfound companion in the sky.
