The ride to the airport wasn't much happening, empty road with the cold breeze flowing, seeing the city at these old time make me feel strange in a odd way. Basically it's hard to describe, overall the ride was quite enjoyable.
But as soon as I arrived at the Airport terminal two people , our manager and supervisor were waiting for none other than me,Only, they weren’t just people anymore — they’d morphed into ticking time bomb waiting for my arrival to finally explode.
So obviously me being the smart girl I am. I decided to sneak in without them noticing me, unfortunately because of tiny miscalculation, my mission failed. And ladies and gentlemen that is how I died .
Just kidding,
But as soon as they saw me, Mr manager bursted out on me" oh god, why do always have to be late Alina. do you know for how long we have been waiting for you "
He was too loud that the supervisor had to step in," sir, she is already late it's best if we let her go for now" he said to cool him down.
But me being me put on my proudest smile as I spoke " Don't worry sir, I have great experience in being late. I am not bragging but we can have a coffee right now and I would still make it to the flight on time "
the two man infront were too stunned to respond. Then, with a few muttered curses they send me off, way too early to my liking. May be I do love the thrill of being late.
But just like I said- i was on time. And it is because I have years of experience, as someone who is always so close to being late still always make it at time. It's a achievement worth bragging about.
Flight itself was easy. the three of us got along well, we even had our role sorted.Nina was the intelligent, responsible big sister who did everything right. Stella was the quiet middle child — so quiet you could almost forget she was there. And me? I was the almighty, greatest little sister — the one who simply enjoyed being herself.
after the flight landed, we three went towards the spot were the car will be arriving.
While we were waiting for Mr. Lennox’s car to arrive, three men appeared in front of us — dressed from head to toe in that stereotypical biker dress.
One of them pulled off his helmet, and to my surprise, he was younger and far more decent-looking than I’d imagined. Still, in his biker getup he sure looks like a knight riding black motorbike instead of there horse.

Right in front of us, he paused — just for a moment — and let his gaze sweep over us, studying each of our faces. He sure was creepy. But he took his phone, called a number, and handed the phone to Nina, simply saying, “Talk.”
Nina hesitated a bit, but she took it anyway. “Hello, who is this?” Her expression was cold while she said it. But as soon as the person on the other side spoke, her expression change
“Okay, sir, I understand,” she said as she put the phone down and passed it back to the boy.Stella, who remained awfully quiet all the time, couldn’t hold herself back and quickly asked Nina, “What was that call about?”
“Oh, actually, Mr. Lennox’s house is situated on the outskirts, and because of some recent problems, the roads aren’t in working condition. Taking a car to that place won’t be possible.” She paused as she pointed towards the three bikers in front of us, who had all taken their helmets off and were looking at us with smiling faces.
“So we’re supposed to go with them?” I burst out in excitement. This trip sure is interesting, I thought. We then headed straight for the mansion with those three boys. They were college students doing their internship at Mr. Lennox’s company.
The whole ride was fun. Those three guys were smooth talkers, for sure. As a result, we reached near the destination in no time. However, the closer we got, the worse the road became — muddy patches, broken pavement, bumps that nearly made me bite my tongue off.
Honestly, I was thanking every god I know for those bikers; otherwise, we’d probably still be stuck halfway with our luggageWhen the mansion finally came into view, my first thought was: of course it’s huge. Rich people sure do live in mansions.
From where we stood, it looked really grand, but the moment the gates opened and we entered, it was way beyond my expectations. Guess there’s a lot of money in the food market.
I’m not even joking, it was like walking into one of those movies where a Duke or Earl is about to descend the stairs to ruin everyone’s life, including the female lead.
The ceilings were so high it felt like clouds could float in there. Massive glass windows stretched from floor to ceiling, making the sunlight spill everywhere like the house itself was glowing.
And then there was the staircase. A proper grand staircase — wide, polished wood, curving upwards like it was built specifically to make peasants like me feel broke.
There were even chandeliers hung above us, sparkling in that perfect golden way that instantly makes you aware of your cheap sneakers.
“Damn,” I whispered before I could stop myself. “Even the air smells expensive.”
Nina gave me a side-eye, as if she wasn’t equally impressed, though I saw her sneaking glances up at the chandeliers. Stella just stood there like she was trying not to breathe too loudly in case she broke something.
Before I could embarrass myself further, a servant appeared out of nowhere, bowing slightly. “Ladies, please follow me. Your rooms are ready.”
So we followed him in silence, our footsteps echoing across the shiny wooden floors. My brain was stuck somewhere between this is the prettiest place I’ve ever seen and I don’t belong here.
I mean, come on. Our job was to plan a sweet sixteen party, but this house already looked like it was waiting for a royal coronation.
