20. Final Broadcast

  THE LAST CONTESTANT

  Episode 20: “Final Broadcast”

“You’re all fighting to be the main character of a story that was never yours to write.”

After Zora entered Princess’ mind to try and cure her corruption of Nyroth’s Evil, they head to Princess’ home (the Castle). Meanwhile, Stix is teaching Quibble, Carrie, and Wade on how to properly stretch their body 50 kilometers, Wade has it easy. And Rudy, Rudy is in her room, she feels like she knows why her Father truly sent her here. And why when she met Princess, she called her a “contestant”. She realizes her bloodline is connected to Happy Town, but how?

  [EXT. HAPPY TOWN – DUSK]

The sky is now fractured. The Neon clouds flicker like glitching pixels. Happy Town then burns and rebuilds in infinite loops, caught in temporal feedback. The statue of an unknown man stands tall, even as bricks crumble and buildings twist into impossible shapes.

  A battle rages below.

  The Magician conjures spiraling illusions.

Nyroth speaks in entropy, unraveling trees and birds as he walks. And all of reality start to distort.

Death stands silently, absorbing minds, wills, and souls that wander too close.

The Big Tank Bois scream, throwing rocks and crying simultaneously.

Semi Kawaii flickers on a dozen TVs, quietly watching while trying to break through time.

In the streets: residents fight residents, arguing over who deserves the title “main character.” One yells, “My fan art has the most likes!” before being struck by a soda can.

[INT. AMONG THE CHAOS – NIGHT]

Rudy, face bruised, breath ragged, hides behind the statue. Her hand trembles.

Quibble kneels beside her, shielding her from debris with his oversized jacket.

  Quibble:

  (softly)

“You don’t have to do anything. We’ll figure it out.”

  Rudy:

  (shaking her head)

“No! They need to hear it. Please. All of them…”

She grips the cold metal of the statue and begins climbing.

[EXT. CENTER OF TOWN – CONTINUOUS]

As Rudy climbs, the chaos below begins to still. One by one, people stop fighting—confused, watching. The air stills.

  Rudy (shouting, trembling):

“Stop!! Stop trying to win!! What are you even fighting for?! A title?! You think being the main character means something?! You think it makes you matter more?!”

She gasps for air. Her voice cracks.

  Rudy (quieter):

“You’ll all die. We all will. Even this town will fade… But I got to live through all of this. I got to laugh and kiss with Quibble. Watch Stix set gods on fire. Hear Wade’s stupid jokes. Cry with Princess even when she’s being sadistic. Watch Zora become a real person. That’s what I care about, I care about my friends and family! Even if they aren’t present with me always...”

  Gasps from below.

  Stix:

“Wait—wait—wait. BACK UP. Did she just say—?”

  Rudy:

“Yeah. Me and Quibble… we’ve been dating since the Nyroth fight.”

  Stix:

explodes with laughter, then drops it instantly

“Oh… okay. Sure. Yeah. Love in a time of entropy. Makes sense. We’re not dying or anything.”

Princess blinks. Her eyes narrow, then soften. She looks away.

  Carrie:

  “…You okay?”

  Princess (flatly):

  “I’m fine. It’s not like I care.”

  Carrie:

  “…Sure you don’t.”

  [NYROTH WALKS FORWARD]

The space around him corrodes. Trees and roses wilt. Buildings unbuild. The very code of the world shakes. This also applies to space.

  Nyroth:

“You deliver speeches… while the void eats your soul. Touching.”

  Rudy:

“You’re not evil, Nyroth. You’re just scared. A lonely man who’s name has been burnt to the ground. You’re just childish.”

  Nyroth (furious):

“I seek order in a world of chaos! I yearn for a unified truth to guide us, to guide me, transcending the contradictions and lies that plague in our existence. The universes may breed contradictions, but I will forge stability and create meaning from the fragments of chaos! Rudy, Quibble, Stix, Wade, Cassie, Princess, and Zora—you will all die."

  [STIX steps in]

Black and white fire rises around him—crackling like shattered memories.

  Stix:

“You wanna fix the cosmos like it’s a leaky sink? Buddy, you need therapy, not domination.”

  [PRINCESS joins]

  Still regal, still fragile.

  Princess:

“My mother, blinded by control, taught me a twisted lesson. But her grip on others only caused harm. Perhaps… our true purpose is not to rule, but to coexist peacefully with the world around us."

[ZORA joins, hair long, yellow eyes glowing]

  Zora:

“You told me I was comic relief. “Punchline girl”. But here I am, changing gravity so people don’t float off into space. I’m more than your fucking joke, Nyroth.”

[WADE, pulling QUIBBLE back from a crumbling ledge]

  Wade:

“Y’all keep confessing and crying, I’m just here making water shields so we don’t all get blended into cosmic soup.”

[CARRIE + PRINCESS, talking to each other quietly]

  Carrie:

  “You still want to run?”

  Princess:

“Yeah. But I think I’ll stay.”

  Carrie (smiling):

  “Cool!”

  [DEATH finally speaks]

  The air stills.

  Death:

“Killing isn’t justice. It’s just silence—final, hollow, and cold. I’ve delivered it for eons. But now I wonder… was I ever the solution? Or just the echo of a world that stopped listening all together?"

  [SEMI KAWAII watches the scene]

She says nothing. The screen she’s on begins to crack. Then shatter.

She disappears—permanently. Silent. Yeah, he killed herself, heh.

[THE BIG TANK BOIS sob loudly]

  Bois #1:

“I just wanted burgers with my brothers…”

  Bois #3:

  “We got lost somewhere, huh?”

  Bois #2:

  “Real lost...”

  They group hug and collapse.

[BACK TO RUDY – atop the statue]

She climbs to the very top, battered, bruised, bleeding, but alive and seems to not care about her injuries.

  Rudy:

“We’ll never know who the real main character is. Maybe it doesn’t matter. Maybe it never did.”

  Wade:

  “Liar.”

She jumps down. Stumbles. Walks toward Nyroth and hugs him.

  Nyroth (shaking):

“Why… why would you touch me!?”

  Rudy:

“Because someone has to! Because this isn’t your fault. It’s no one’s fault...”

  Nyroth:

“You fools, you know nothing of the true nature of this world. It is cruel, vile, and full of suffering, and yet you pretend that it is something it is not! Your lives are but a brief flicker of light in the dark, and you use every precious second that you have to try and make sense of it. But your efforts are in vain, for the world will always remain beyond your understanding."

[The Cast joins, one by one]

  Stix:

“This feels cringe. And yet we’re still here.”

  Zora:

  “I mean, I still laugh.”

  Quibble:

  “We still try too.”

  Wade:

  “…. Huh? OH! And cry.”

  Carrie:

  “Even when it hurts.”

  Princess:

“Even when it’s not fair, Nyroth.”

  [A BEAT OF SILENCE]

  Then…

A kid from the crowd yells:

  “Wait—so who’s the main character!?”

Everyone groans. They all jump and beat down the kid.

  [EPILOGUE – NEXT DAY]

The sky clears. The statue falls apart. Happy Town begins to rebuild.

Rudy walks with Quibble, hand in hand. Stix walks beside them, sarcastic but quieter than usual. Carrie and Princess sit on a bench, smiling. Wade makes bubbles for the Big Tank Bois. Zora writes her name in the sky using magnetic dust.

And for a moment… everything feels okay.

  FINAL LINE (V.O. – RUDY)

“If this is our final episode of Season 2, let us make it count. Remember our adventures, our losses, and the people who touched our lives. For everything that mattered, for every moment that made us laugh, or cry, or feel alive, they were worth it. So when the world fades to black, let it be remembered that we lived fully, and we loved deeply, in the fleeting moments we were granted!"

  MEANWHILE….

  Pentuis:

“These guys, they’ve grown from idiots to kids with the minds of prodigies! But Rudy, has adapted to her environments… and has grown the fastest out of everyone. She’s quite the bright girl, I must say. What do you think, Boss?”

  ???:

”Soon, I will pay that Universe a visit. After I’m done destroying the Hyperspaces. Everyone will remember my name once more.”

  Pentuis:

”At least it’s not the Heptadimensional plane.. oh well! Season Done!”

  Narrator:

”Right. As the Narrator, I say we end this”

  Pentuis:

  ”Who was that—?”

  Cut to black.

  End of Season 2.

The Last Contestant was not about some quest for ultimate truths, the story was about a journey through the tough moments of love, loss, and transformation. Like…!—

still continues. Don’t worry! This was just the beginning to be honest…
